MSRA's BACK TO THE 50's Weekend
1957 Oldsmobile Custom
We caught sight of one of the most noted cars in the show parked casually along a street on the north side of the fairgrounds. Featured in the Minnesota Street Rod Association's monthly magazine, this car was chosen as Custom of the Year for MSRA, a high honor. The owner said he was "shooting for an early 1960's custom look." It has been nosed, decked, rounded at the corners hood and trunk and has had some chrome deleted to get the special look. The paint was done by a very popular painted from Blaine, Minnesota. MSRA club members know him as "Paint by Shane." The colors are Dupont Desert Sand over Brown Raisin Cane with a Candy orange accent stripe. Shane did an excellent job, pretty near perfect. The interior was done by Staples Upholstery in Elk River, Minnesota.
