1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible
Dodge Challenger Convertible. Excellent R/T tribute restoration that took 9 years to complete. Same owner for 15 years. Every nut and bolt is correct! Original 1970 Go-wing. Shaker hood is built from the original flat hood using the best kit available from Ben Snobar. The factory foam insulation that is used between bracing and hood skin was even reinstalled. This hood looks factory! Built 440-6pac with Keith Black pistons. Comp dual pattern cam. Correct Holley carbs, with center carb having a increased jet size. Aluminum intake, with heat spring for choke. Just a couple of pumps when cold, and she fires right up! Correct factory 1970 26" radiator that was rescored. Never runs hot! Custom titanium ceramic coated headers into a 2.5" exhaust with X-pipe to Flowmasters. Sounds awesome, no resonating at any speed. New fuel lines, sending unit and tank. Keisler 5 speed with needle roller pilot bearing, hydraulic clutch, and balanced driveshaft. Purrs on the freeway at 80mph! 8.75" rear powder coated housing, with all new seals and green bearings. 489 case with Suregrip 3:55's. Power brakes, with disc in front and 11" drum in rear. New brake lines. Original Steel wheels that are powder coated. Wheel studs were changed to all right hand threads. FirmFeel tubular 'A' arms, with camber and caster adjustments. Fast ratio powering steering, with level 2 handling. Reinforced powder coated K-frame with skid plate. Hemi torsion bars. Frame connectors added to reduce the flex that convertibles have with high torque. These are the good ones that fit tight against floor pan, and look factory. The Ralley gauges were sent to Redline gauge, for a complete restoration, including a Quartz clock conversion. Everything works. Wipers, squirters, lights, turn signals, horn, tac, key buzzer, fan, heater, and defrost. The inside of the heater box was restored with new rubber and heater core. All cables work smoothly. Same key for ignition and doors. This was a very solid convertible to start with. Just replaced the lower quarters and installed a one pieces trunk floor. Have the original fender tag that shows the factory dual chrome racing mirrors, black bucket seats, and black top. The original color was FY1(yellow). The seats are very nice and believed to be original. Also has the original dash pad. New top, and back-glass. New tinted windshield. Side glass is original. Very nice body and paint from Mopar specialist. The original stainless trim was professionally polished. along with the original light lenses. Has a nice stereo/cd in the original uncut hole. Only driven approx. 1900 miles since completed in 2008. Two folders of receipts. May consider part trade for a 4 speed Cuda or Challenger. The only difference between this, and one for 250k, is the VIN#. This was built to drive!
