The GAA Classic Summer Auction will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina next month, July 21-23, 2022. Although the auction lineup is almost all set, this week we noticed a rare gem has been added to the auction inventory. It is a 1946 Chevrolet Pickup in amazing condition, according to the auction photos. The title on the auction entry says it is a Silverado, which refers to the fact that it participated in the 2,800-mile cruise to raise money for distressed farmers. GM organized the cruise. They called the cruise the Silverado Drive for Farm Aid. Hence, the consignor named his truck the "Silverado." It is one of the interesting classic pickup trucks which will cross the auction block at The Auto Palace" in Greensboro for the July auction event. Stay tuned to this newsletter for more.

Chevrolet performance guru and Chief Engineer for Corvette, Zora Duntov wanted fuel injection for his Corvette race cars. So Chevrolet developed the Rochester Fuel Injection code EL for their Corvette and the top-of-the-line Bel Air vehicles for 1957. This week RK Motors Charlotte posted an ad for this highly desirable 1957 Corvette with a correct 283 ci EL fuel injection Chevrolet V8 motor. (No numbers matching representation is made here.) The Polo white Corvette has been awarded NCRS Top Flight honors. Although currently fitted with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, it comes with a fully refurbished Rochester fuel injection unit included with the sale. It has a Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission for the raw sports car experience. They describe it as the perfect car to drive and enjoy while owning an historic sports car.

One of the coolest cars listed this week is this 1969 Chevelle SS Pro Street posted by a private party seller from Elyria, Ohio. He calls it a Pro Street Show Car with an "over the top" build. Although it has never been raced, it has a built 454, built transmission and a 373 posi rear end. It was built to drive. But it is only driven to shows with less than 300 miles on the car since it was finished. He says it runs and drives "perfect." Click through to see the photos. You can tell it gets driven but see how clean the undercarriage looks. For a car that gets driven this is a nice setup. The interior is well done, but not overdone.

Based on the success of the McLaren 570S GT4, McLaren's most successful GT race car of all time, they came out with a street version for the performance car fan. They call the McLaren 620R the street version of that storied 570S GT4 race car. Its enviable DNA makes it a fully homologated track car yet is free from the restrictions of race regulations. This week, McLaren Orlando in Titusville, Florida listed this 2020 McLaren 620R for sale. They originally sold this car when it was new, and now it has come back home to find a new owner. It is certified pre-owned by McLaren, and has 1,723 miles. Wait till your race club sees you pull up in this one.

A special edition 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was produced as a tribute to NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. Chevrolet called the special edition the "Intimidator." These cars were born to be collectible. So it is no surprise that this one was kept with low miles. It was stored on jacks for 15 years. It is loaded, according to the private party owner from Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. It has been preserved with only 2,800 miles. That's the way to buy a car.

Here is a real 1972 Plymouth Cuda car with a 4-speed with two fender tags. It currently has a 383 ci V8 motor in it which is not running. But the 340 motor is ready to install, they tell us. The car is being offered for sale through Classic Car Deals, an internet broker. The 4-speed is missing. They say the doors shut with no sagging, and the glass is all there. There is a 727 Torqueflite in it now. The Florida consignor believes it would not take much to complete the car.

He says the car has been upgraded to a GM Connect and Cruise 480 hp LS3 T56 Magnum engine, 6-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt 12-bolt 3.73 Posi. The interior has a lot that's new. You'll see Dakota Digital RTX gauges. It has Hooker headers and McLoed clutch. He was asking $80,000 when he listed it. He just dropped the price to $70,000.

Beverly Hills Car Club is selling this 1972 Corvette with matching numbers and finished in its factory color War Bonnet Yellow Poly (989) with a sand beige interior. So this is a desirable Corvette which just came out of long-term storage and is currently not running. A skilled car buff could go through it and start it safely. It comes with T-tops, beauty rings, pop-up headlamps, split chrome rear bumper, and Dunlop radial G/T tires. You can see from the photos that this one needs some work. But check it out. Shelton Classics in Mooresville, North Carolina has listed an interesting classic 1950's Mopar that you don't see that often. Here is their 1958 Dodge Coronet, a new listings, which they describe as a "nice little driver that has never seen a full restoration!" They call it the perfect "ice cream shop cruiser." They know it has had one repaint. Look through the photos to determine its current condition. They believe the interior has been redone, too. The owner said the engine had been rebuilt about 10 years ago. Upgrades include conversion from generator to alternator, and front disc brakes. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. Beverly Hills Car Club also has this 1966 Mustang Convertible in their fresh listings this week. Finished in its factory color Wimbledon White with a black interior, they say it is equipped with an automatic transmission, inline six cylinder motor, chrome bumpers, electric soft top, whiteline tires, center console, Ford Mustang design hub caps, jack, spare tire, and extra parts on the side. The sale will also include documentation, such as the owner's manual booklet, manufacturer's literature, and service receipt copies dating from 1991 through 2018. You should have it inspected before you buy. They describe it as an extremely original black-plate California car that is mechanically sound. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. A prviate party seller from Putnam, Connecticut is offering his 1972 Mercury Cougar Convertible for sale this week. From the ad photos, this one looks better than some of the cars we see in the DEAL of the DAY feature. However the interior may have some wear. You should have it inspected before you buy. The seller says this is an original car that runs and looks great. He discloses that it has 60,072 mile and he says he has the original bill of sale. It is equipped with the venerable 351 Cleveland big block Ford motor. Ask the owner if the top is electric. You will want to know how it drives down the road. The seller says it is a "real nice classic." It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. The asking price is $18,500.

Streetside Classics just posted this 1957 Ford Thundebird replica, a classic reproduction of one of the most iconic two-seater sports cars of all time. You should call Streetside Classics to find out whether this is a Regal Roadster rendition of the '57 T-Bird. If it was built at Regal Roadster in Wisconsin, check to see if it has power rack and pinion steering, power disc brakes up front and air conditioning. These replicas are often said to be better than the originals, although they look very close to the orignal T-Birds. You get the best of both worlds. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy. But hurry. This one will be advertised as our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. The asking price is $19,995.

Here is a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III that you really have to check out. The private party seller from Georgia, Vermont tells us it is a one-of-a-kind find and has been well kept. They do disclose that it is in driver quality condition with some TLC needed. He says it is a great cruising car and has taken it to many car shows. He says, "There is absolutely no current rust on the car, there has been a few patches made over the years and the car has been repainted, but the car is safe and the paint/body is super clean and presents beautifully!" There are not too many vehicles in the specialty vehicle markets today that are any hotter than Jeep Wranglers. Their off-road reputations make them the go to vehicles for outdoor fun. Here is a 2008 Jeep Wrangler which has been listed for sale at Midwest Muscle Cars in Lake Zurich, Illinois. They describe it as a "nice jeep with 35 inch tires with Rock Star rims, lift kit, all new ball joints and front end parts." They say it has 119k miles on it with a new Frzier replacement motor at 97k miles. But they say it still has two years under warranty. Be sure to check out the stereo with amp and sub woofer.
