Hennessey Performance in Texas gave NASCAR driver Joey Logano the keys to a Hennessey built 2016 Ford VelociRaptor Pickup for a weekend. They said go "tear up the desert." Click here to watch the video they did on Caropathy. They took the V6 out and put a V8 in it with Whipple Supercharger for 750 horsepower. They say this truck does 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. So in the video Joey Logano meets up with John Hennessey and finds nirvana in the desert. Naturally he and Hennessey drag race their vehicles for the fun of it. Man, these VelociRaptors are fast. To hear the Chevy guys talk about it, Chevrolet brought out the 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 monster big block car without a lot of fanfare. No one expected it when the 454/450 hp motor ran head to head with the Hemi Mopars at the track. The 450 horsepower rating was so modest that it took the racing world by surprise. Dyno Don Nicholson made out like a bandit with his famous Red Alert LS6 drag car that he bought as a grocery getter and turned into a popular performer at the strip. These LS6 cars have been going for big money. But this week Super Sport Classics in Largo, Florida listed one for under $100,000. Find out more at the link above. Westport Auto Center in Fenton, Missouri has contributed some interesting collector cars to our newsletter over the years. This week they joined our Cars-On-Line Dealer Network with some of the top cars here in the newsletter this week. This 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler with the Ram Air 429 Cobra Jet motor is an excellent example of their inventory. Only 1,631 of these Cyclone Spoilers were produced in 1970. And just 386 came in Competition Orange like this one. Click the link above to go through the numbers. They say it is numbers matching. With summer approaching, we're excited to see what's happening in Greensboro, North Carolina as the GAA Classic Summer Auction is set for July 21-23 at The Auto Palace. And as we look over their auction inventory for next month we are impressed with how many desirable classic cars are being offered at No Reserve. You know you've got a chance to get a bargain when the No Reserve sign is on. Let's take a look at what has been consigned so far.

We were surprised to see several GTO muscle cars for sale at No Reserve in this year's GAA Classic Summer Auction. This 1969 Pontiac GTO Ram Air III Convertible is one of 174 RA III GTO convertibles produced that year. This one is a desirable 4-speed, an older restoration, with a power top, power disc brakes, tach and gauges, and Safe-T-Track.. They know a lot about the history on this car. Early Shelby GT350 Mustangs are so expensive that tribute cars are selling for high prices themselves. You don't expect to see a 1965 Shelby GT350 recreation like this one offered at No Reserve. It has the 351 Windsor with aluminum heads, Tremec 5-speed, subframe connectors, dual exhaust and a fiberglass hood. GAA tells us that the paint is of "high quality." No Reserve is attractive to bidders because there is always the chance that you could be the winning bid. Just think if you could be the top bidder on this 2004 Dodge Rame Viper SRT Pickup. What an incredible performance pickup. It has the Viper SRT-10 motor and a 6-speed transmission. Because it is a late model, you can request a copy of the clean Carfax on this one. Resto Mod customs are all the craze now, and the GAA Classic Summer Auction has lots of them in the auction inventory. Here is a 1965 Corvette Resto Mod Convertible which will be in the Saturday Prime Time sale. It will be Lot # ST0081.2. Offered at No Reserve, they say there are only 4k miles on the frame-off restoration. According to the ad copy, no expense was spared as the SRIII Motorsports chassis was powder coated gloss black. They gave it an  LS2 engine and 4L65E automatic transmission with C4 Dana 44 rear end. Excellent ride.

You don't usually find a 1969 Camaro in survivor quality condition with low miles. But here is a Frost Green 1969 Camaro Convertible being offered for sale by Dream Car Sellers this week. They tell us it has just 27,382 miles. And when you see the photos and the video, you will likely agree this is what a low miles car should look like. Click here to view the inspection video. A private party seller from West Virginia posted his rare 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Fintail edition which is often referred to as a "Heckfloose." For anyone who is really into Mercedes it is a tuly interesting barn find. The 300SE received the chassis code W112 and is powered by a 2,996 cc OHC six cylinder engine with six Bosch injectors. So rare, you may never see one again. This is the one to restore.

A California collector put his 1956 Chrysler 300B Hardtop up for sale on the Cars-On-Line website due to health reasons. It is a frame on restoration of a rust free southwest car that has had a full mechanical rebuild. It has the right options, including wire wheels. He was originally asking $59,900. But just this week he reduced his price to $49,500. Now that's worth taking a look at.

When we talk about tribute cars we usuallly are referring to muscle cars built to resemble rare originals. Here is a muscle car that never was. Some one took a 1970 Mustang Convertible and gave it a Boss 302 performance package. It does still have its numbers matching Ford 302 ci V8, and Magnum 500 wheels. The striping package and spoiler were added. You will see question marks rising from the heads of all who see it coming. Have some fun this summer.

Wow! As hot as these Dodge Vipers are in this current market we never thought we would see one in the DEAL of the DAY feature. But here one is. Classic Auto Showplace in Troy, Michigan just listed this 1994 Dodge Viper for sale with the big V10 motor. Be sure to take note of this listing. It will not be here long. Classic Auto Showplace tells they are selling it for an elderly client who always kept this car in climate controlled storage. It has a pampered and accident-free history. It has only 11,365 original miles. Noted defects include rash marks on wheels and on the chin (underneath) of the front bumper. You should check it thoroughly because the price is amazing. Classic Studebakers designed from the Raymond Loewy design studiio are among the most sought after Studebakers of all time. In the 1950's they were often called "the Loewy Coupe" or "Low Boys." This may be the "sleeper" deal for this week. It is a 1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner which has already had custom work done. Hot rodders love this low two-door coupe design. With a Mustang rack with front disc brakes, MOPAR 318 v8 motor, 5-speed manual transmission and a Ford rear end, this car has already had over $50k invested in it. The Sour Apple paint is by House of Kolor. It has power windows with shaved door handles and remote trunk access. And there is so much more. Have it inspected before you buy, but hurry. Our newsletter readers know Beverly Hills Car Club as a clearing house for collector cars that have been long lost in storage. Here is a 1955 Oldsmobile 88 Holiday with unique factory paint code Juneau Gray and Polar White with a cream interior. This American classic comes equipped with an automatic transmission and white line tires. They say it has service receipt copies dating from November 2013 through July 2015. Look at dozens of high resolutions photos. If it looks right, then be sure to have it inspected by a good pre-purchase inspection company. But hurry. Beverly Hills Car Club says it is an extremely original and well-preserved example that is mechanically sound. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. Their price is $18,750.

If the 1958 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite was credited with bringing an affordable sports car experience to the Brtish, then the MG Midget can be credited with improving upon it. Here is a 1979 MG Midget being offered for sale by Cody's Classic Cars in Stanley, Wisconsin. They say it is beautifully restored inside and out. This is the MK IV edition, and shows only 69k miles. With a 1500 cc motor and 4-speed manual transmission, they tell us it is turnkey ready for summer motoring. Much has been rebuilt or replaced in the 18 years of paperwork which goes with the car. A nice T-Bucket style hot rod Model T Pickup is being offered for sale at Classical Gas Motor in Texas. Their client is offering his 1926 Ford Model T Pickup for sale. It comes with a built 327 ci Chevy V8 bored .030 over with solid lifters, performance Crane cam and 3” high-rise Weiland manifold. They say the Walker radiator and 2500 cfm electric radiator fan will keep it cool during parades or highway crusing. And they say the Flowmasters really sound good with the 327 trumpeting your approach through the dual exhaust. It has a TH400 automatic transmission with Stage 3 shift kit. The classic truck looks to be well sorted out for summer fun. A black pleated interior can be seen in the ad photos. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the money. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. The asking price has been dropped to $16,500.

After 1977 you could no longer buy a full sized Lincoln Continental Town Car such as this one. It is being offered for sale at Streetside Classics in Ft Worth, Texas. The coach type comfort these big Lincolns offered is unmatched anywhere in the world today. It has the big 460 ci V8 engine, 3-speed automatic transmission and is thought to have just less than 86k miles. This is one you should have inspected before you buy. The photos show the interior and the undercarriage. Look at these photos closely. You need someone to tell you that the floors are solid. An inspection should help you determine the condition class of this car. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on later next week. The asking price is $16,995.

There is good reason to credit the Plymouth Valiant with saving Plymouth. It was their top selling vehicle during the 1960's and 1970's. They had a good reputation for durability and reliabiity. Here is a 1962 Plymouth Valiant being offered for sale by a private party seller from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He says it is in great condition with a dependable Slant 6 engine and Rally wheels. He says it even has a new interior. It looks clean in the photos, but a pre-purchase inspection would shed light on its condition class. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week if it lasts that long. The asking price is $14,000.
