The year 1969 was Ford's moment to shine in NASCAR competition. They were the first to come out with an aerodynamic body for their new 1969 Ford Torino Talladega designated to compete on NASCAR's speedways. The car was named after the new Talladega Super Speedway in Alabama. Ford won 29 Grand National races in 1969 and 1970. To homologate the Talladega for competition NASCAR required that Ford Motor Company had to build it for street use also. So Ford built 750 Talladegas to qualify it for NASCAR. Those street versions are incredibly rare to find in the collector car market today.
This week Fast Lane Classic Cars out of St Charles, Missouri listed a 1969 Ford Torino Talladega for sale. Maybe the headline of this story should be that this Talladega is being offered at less than $100,000. You can’t find a Dodge Daytona or a Plymouth Superbird for under $100,000 these days. An aspiring Ford collector would do well to check this out.
They say it has the original 428 Cobra Jet engine. This one has a C6 automatic transmission and Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic. It also had to have the Competition Suspension. Fast Lane Classic Cars tells us it comes with optional power steering, power front disc brakes, color keyed racing mirrors, blackout hood and styled steel wheels. They indicate that the Marti Report, a partial build sheet and a window sticker come with the car as documentation.
You may want to read the whole story on our MyDreamCar.online blog page today. You will find out more history on the Talladega and see a video walk-around done by Fast Lane Classic Cars. Click here to read the blog. Then find the comment box at the end of the story. Tell us about your memories of the Talladega. We love to hear your stories.

This is what we've been waiting for. We are here ar the GAA Summer Classic Auction which just began yesterday in Greensboro, North Carolina. They will be selling 650 collector and specialty cars, July 21-23, 2022. Finally a decent sized auction sale where we can get a chance to see a wide variety of collector and specialty cars being sold. With all the problems in the economy here in the U.S. we are anxious to see what will happen to collector car values. This auction should give us a chance to measure the collector sentiment. Yesterday a 1965 Ford Falcon Sprint Convertible (shown here) may have set a record when it sold for $83,000 at the hammer price. You can follow our coverage of the GAA Classic Auction this weekend on our ClassiCarNews blog at this link. Then check our Facebook page on Saturday as we host an Auction Watching party there. We will feature some of the top cars in the Saturday lineup as they come up for sale. We will even publish a link for you to watch along with us.

Legendary Motorcar Company has been teasing a promo on this 1988 Lamoborghini Countach 5000 QV for a couple of weeks now. We know that it is Nero black with palomino interior. They say it has only 5,219 miles from new. The QV stands for Quattrovalvole, four valves per cylinder. This may be a European edition (which had much more horsepower and did not have the required bumpers in front.) The European edition had Weber carbs. Only 610 Countach examples were produced in 1988. The V-12 was bored out to 5.2L and was rated at 415 horsepower. The suspension on this car is a work of art. Wait till you see the fully independent setup on all four corners with a quad rear coil overs. Contact Legendary Motorcar Company for more info.
Merlin Auto Group out of Atlanta has this hard-to-get 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 with only 42 miles on it. This is the incredible new 1,000 horsepower all-electric truck with 3 motors providing the performance based 4-Wheel Drive. With 11,500 lb-ft of torque, it can do 0-60 in approximately 3 seconds. The Hummer EV uses GM's new Ultium battery-pack technology and is capable of an estimated 329 miles of driving range per charge. Featuring an immersive infinity roof with removable modular sky panels you can drive in an open top environment. It even has a Bose 14-speaker audio system featuring Centerpoint with the Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement (EVSE) system. It also has the "hands-free" driving capability and Automatic Lane Change. "Beam me up, Scotty" the future has arrived.
One of the all-time great sports cars of the world, the 2002 BMW Z8 was so limited in production that they hold a high value for collectors. The Z8 was BMW's tribute to the first BMW sports car, the 507. An early edition was used in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough. The Z8 was only produced for three years, 2001-2003. Only 2,543 were produced for the North American market. This 2002 version is being offered for sale at MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, Massachusetts. The car has a known history and still has just 8,900 original miles on it. It is powered by a 4.9 liter DOHC, dual VANOS 32-valve V8 engine that was factory rated at 394 horsepower. We see a lotta' nice Novas in our Nova Section, but Ross Stomp of Ross Customs Muscle Cars in Michigan tells us this 1966 Chevy II Nova stands out from the crowd, a real show quality restoration. He says the Plum Maroon paint, base coat clear coat, was sanded and wheeled smooth, slick as glass. During the restoration it was updated with a steel cowl hood. You can read the extensive description of the restoration on the ad page. Click the video window above to hear Ross tell you all about the build.

North Shore Classics from Mundelein, Illinois just posted an amazing low miles 1969 Buick Riviera classic luxury car for sale this week. They say it has only 30k original miles. In fact, they note that it looks like it has mostly original paint. How does that happen? Click here to view a walk-around video and see for yourself. The motor is the Buick 430 ci V8 big block. They describe the car as being in "mint" condition. Contact them to find out more.

As a successor to the 328, the Ferrari 348 was the last car designed and built under the guidance of Enzo Ferrari. As it happens, Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles has a 1990 Ferrari 348TS for sale this week. It has just come out of long term storage and has not been running. For the right buyer this could be a money maker. You would have to change the fluids and test it to see if it will run. This is an interesting opportunity.

Willys street rods are some of the most iconic collector cars of the modern era. In fact, a Florida hot rodder listed his 1933 Willys 77 Coupe for sale some months ago. It has an original all steel body with a boxed frame, very desirable among old school hot rodders. He was originally asking $89,500 on this Willys. But just this week he lowered the price substantially to try to promote a sale. The price is now just $79,500. That should provoke some offers.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line homepage. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the homepage!
Look at the photos of this 1963 Dodge Dart Convertible. It is being offered for sale this week by Coyote Classics in Greene, Iowa. As you scroll through the photos note how solid the undercarriage looks and how clean the engine compartment is. Those are good signs. Of course, you should always have it inspected before you buy. They say it is highly original, and is the Model 270 edition with the interior color-matching convertible top. It has the 225 ci. slant-six engine paired to a 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. A full numbers decode is available in the ad copy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is $12,995.
In the early years of Chevrolet they had some interesting model names. Here is the 1929 Chevrolet International Sedan looking pretty spiffy in gray paint and yellow trim. It is being offered for sale through Classic Car Deals, an internet broker, for their client in Texas. The odometer reads 26,911 miles. They say it runs and drives great. It has a 194 ci 6 cylinder engine and 3-speed manual transmission. You will find the Aviator Mascot on the radiator head, and it has a rear mounted spare tire. The front and rear bumpers are said to be plated and double bar. The disc wheels are painted to match the trim. It currently sits on Lester tires. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $16,995.
The early Chevrolet Malibu SS cars have their own following. But you rarely find one in this price range. Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles is offering one for sale this week. It is a 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS finished in its factory color of Ermine White with a contrasting light blue interior. It comes with a V8 engine with Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and automtic transmission. Interestingly it is equipped with power steering, air conditioning, quad headlamps and forward folding bucket seats. It is equipped with lap seat belts. It also comes with its owner's manual booklet, a copy of the window sticker and service receipt copes. They consider it an extremely original California car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday as the asking price is only $19,750.
Okay, here is definitely a "fuzzy dice" type 1950's classic custom, the kind of car you would take to the drive-in on weekends. This classic 1955 Ford Fairlane is the perfect cruiser for summer drives. Sporting a classic design with some modern upgrades, you can see in the photos that it has spotlights, fender skirts and large dual exhausts. It probably sounds good. A new radio and speakers are installed to provide a quality audio experience for your drives across town. A naugahide type custom interior has been insntalled. And there is a lot of period style custom pinstriping on the interior. You should have it inspected to determine the condition class. But hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday next week. The asking price is $24,000.
Cars-On-Line newsletter readers know that we always say, "If you find a classic first generation Ford Thunderbird for less than $30,000 ... you should buy it." (The one caveat is that it has to be at least a good driver quality No. 3 condition T-Bird.) So here is a 1957 Ford Thunderbird which has been listed for sale this week by the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. It comes with both tops, the black convertible top you see here and a white porthole auxiliary hardtop. They say it has the 292 ci V8 engine, fender skirts and a photo album of the restoration. A good condition report may be found in the ample description. They say it is a great driver, with good handling and smooth shifting. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. The asking price is $29,000.
Here is an interesting 1953 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon from out of Pennsylvania. It is being offered for sale by Classic Cars Deals, the internet broker. It has some mild custom elements to it, but really is on the edge of being a project car for restoration. However you have to love the charm of its survivor personality. They say it still has its original Flathead V8 engine and 3-speed manual transmission. In the ad copy it says it has new spark plugs, nice pin striping, chrome, interior seats and new points, condenser and coil with internal resistor. This is one you have to have inspected before you buy to get a sense of the condition class. But it is interesting, isn't it? It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $14,995.
If you are a fan of the Mercedes-Benz 450SL you should take a look at this one. It is a 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450SL in Classic White with a red interior. Although it shows 123,000 miles, you will be amazed at the condition. It is being offered for sale through Motorcar Studio. (Click here to view a walk-around video.) They say they don't see them this nice very often. Receipts from a 2009 refurbishing show over $30,000 invested. Restoration work included a complete interior re-trim including the dash and the soft top. The seats were reupholstered in correct leather, door panels, carpet, zebrano wood, soft top, carpet, seals and all MB tex trim was replaced. While the dash was out the vacuum pods were replaced and a number of mechanical items were addressed including subframe mounts. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. Their asking price is $18,900.
