We had to eliminate one of our popular features in the Cars-On-Line newsletter this week. You will not see the Price Reduced feature because so few people are dropping their prices. In fact, the opposite is true. People are raisiing their prices this week. One significant price drop came in today when the owner of a 1932 Brookville Roadster (shown here) lowered his price from $83,900 down to $75,000. But overall, the trend in prices is up. One theory is that the stock market decline is making investors want to invest in collectibles instead of stocks which just keep going down in value. Collector cars may be the way some investors hedge against a recession. And cars are selling fast in this market. It was exciting to see a 1949 Hudson Commodore Convertible Brougham listed in the Hudson Section this week. A cult following of Hudson lovers watches this newsletter with anticipation each week. But it is rare that we see a Hudson of this quality offered for sale. It is offered by The Last Detail in North Chicago, Illinois. They are selling it for one of their clients. You have to see the photos of the interior and undercarriage on this beautifully kept concourse show car. It was displayed at the Meadowbrooks Concours in 2009. It is now freshly detailed and ready to show again. The restoration was exceptional. Note the fit and finish. It is one of only 262 Commodore convertibles built that year. It has a power convertible top and power windows.

This is our first siting of a 2022 GMC Hummer EV for sale. The much heralded Hummer, GM's first big off-road electric vehicle, is as spectacular as they had promised. This 1000-hp Hummer EV pickup truck has all available options, including rear axle steering, Crab-walk capability and WTF mode, and it has the Extreme Off-Road Package. It is being offered for sale at Carbuffs in Concord, California. They say this one is like brand new with only 1,000 break-in miles on it. You see it here in 18" black aluminum wheels with machine accents, and 305 X 70 Goodyear Wrangler tires. Check out the leather interior with Bose Premium Surround sound. You might call it a high tech High Boy.

We are only a week away from one of the most exciting auctions of the spring season. Just in time for spring cruises, the Raleigh Classic Auction, May 6-7, 2022, is your chance to buy some of the most desirable classic cars in America. Many are low miles and excellently preserved Southern cars. No other classic car auction in the country has a selection of wood bodied wagons like the Raleigh Classic. Come to Youngsville next week just to see the amazing selection of woodies. This 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Woody Wagon was added to the auction inventory. It was an AACA National First Place winner in 2006. This year, the spring Raleigh Auction features a selection of classic Oldsmobile 442 W-30 convertibles and Buick Gran Sport Stage 1 convertibles like you have never seen before. It is amazing how they have so many from which to choose. This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible is an excellent example. It is one of only 110 such cars to be produced in '71. They say it is numbers matching and comes with factory air conditioning. Click through to view more.

As usual, the number of 1950's car culture classics will impress you. Here is a 1958 Edsel Pacer Convertible which will cross the auction block in Youngsville on Friday May 6. It has unique 1950's color scheme and award winning potential. They say it is ready to show now. Are you ready for AACA judging? Find out more at the link. It is amazing to realize how rare this one is. They only made 1,876 of them. This one was originally owned by an Edsel engineer.

The Raleigh Classic sent out a press release earlier this month to note the remarkable number of classic pickup trucks which will be crossing the auction block next week at the Raleigh Classic Auction in Youngsville, North Carolina. One of the promo trucks was this 1940 Ford Pickup in Royal Blue with black fenders. What a sharp lookiing truck. The 1940 models are so popular with collectors not only because they are rare, but because they are one of Ford's best designs of the era.

Merhons in Springfield, Ohio has a very interesting classic Corvette convertible for sale this week. It is a Goldwood Yellow 1965 Corvette 396/425 Convertible with side pipes. It has only 20,935 miles showing on the odometer. Mershons is not representing it as a low miles car because the registered miles are exempt. But look at how the odometer tumblers are dead on. That makes you think, doesn't it?

It was a father and son's dream to restore a 1941 Chevrolet Deluxe Sedan together as their project. Alas, it was never finished. It was started as a mild custom to retain the original look and feel of the car. You can see that there is some paint and work left to do. Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania has it for sale this week. They say they test drove it and you can get their report at the link.

It looks like Beverly Hills Car Club has outdone itself this week. Among their listings they have some desirable cars at some very nice prices. The 1968 Ford Galaixe 500 Convertible they just posted is a classic custom done in wild colors. It must have been a celebrity ride. The custom interior looks nice. Well done. The undercarriage shots would lead us to believe that this is a driver class car. As always, have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is $14,750.

A collector from East Moline, Illinois has listed his 1946 Ford Crown Victoria Business Coupe at a very interesting price point. He says it is a rare "small door, solid Texas car with a 350 Chevy small block motor and 350 automatic transmission. It also comes with updated 4 wheel disc brakes, Posie springs, etc. His conservative description may need a little more explanation, so you can call him to fill in the details. But the price is so attractive it would be worth the effort to find out more. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $16,000.

Mopar fans will love this concept. A 1964 Plymouth Valiant is all custom outfitted to pack quite a punch. In addition to the big super stock hood scoop, the little Valiant has a 273 ci V8 with aluminum intake, 4-barrel 650 cfm carburetor, electric choke, electronic ignition, 8.8 rearend, 373 gears, long studs, dual exhaust and front disc brakes. The Torqeflite automatic transmision is directed via an Indy shifter. Check out the new interior. They say it is a rust free car which is being sold by its private party owner in New York. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. His asking price is $16,000. That is a lotta' car for the money.

Big cars equalled luxury back in the heyday of Detroit iron. Here is a 1965 Chrysler 300 which has 46,450 miles according to the description provided by Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. They say it comes with a show car sign board showing the original documents, window sticker and even all the books and repair orders throughout the car's history. They describe it as a driver quality car showing its age somewhat. You must see the photos to get a true idea of the condition. They describe it as a "wonderful" cruiser, smooth ride. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Tuesday. Their price is $19,500.

When Mercury came out with the Cougar in 1967, it was almost as impressive as when Ford came out with the Mustang. The Cougar, with its hideaway headlights, sequential tail lights and muscle car image, was an instant success. This 1967 Mercury Cougar is being offered for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles this week. It has a 289 V8 engine with an automatic transmission, power windows, steel wheels and white line tires. The color is the popular Inverness Green metallic with white top and interior. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Wednesday. Their asking price is $19,950.

This week an Oldsmobile collector decided to thin his herd and listed eight of his collection of Oldsmobile Starfire 98 hardtops. This 1963 Oldsmobile Starfire is one he describes as a "partial restoration" which will still need more work. He says the Florida car has a rebuilt engine and power steering pump, new exhaust system, air compressor, new tires, NOS fuel pump and radiator was recored. He says he will sell it "as is" for $17,000. This is definitely one you should have inspected because he has not commented on how it runs or drives. That would be something you would want to know. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week.

Available in its factory color code #L20B Brilliant Orange with a black interior, this 1972 VW Beetle Cabriolet comes equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, flat 4 cylinder 1600cc dual port engine, dual carburetors, soft top, steel wheels and Volkswagen hubcaps. It is another interesting offering from Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles. They do not give any indication of the condition class of this car so it would be a good idea to have it inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week (if it lasts that long.) Their asking price is $15,750.
