We just received a news release from the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum about a special Father's Day activity that really rings true to us. They are offering to the public the opportunity to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience of riding in an historic Auburn, Cord, or Duesenberg automobile for Father’s Day during the “Father’s Day Classic Car Cruise” on June 20th, 2 PM – 5 PM. Pre-registration is not required, and rides are available on a first-come, first-served basis. They tell us that to be guaranteed a ride, participants must be in line by 4 PM at the Education & Exhibit Plaza. A while back we were asked to look at a 1952 Chevy Styleliner Deluxe. The car took a nice photo and it looked good in an advertisement that our client was looking at. Although the car started and ran, the inspector was not complimentary about the ride. He noticed some serious carburetor problems that would have to be addressed. (Follow this link to read the sample report on our website.) There were also some scratches in the paint that made it a "20-footer," looks pretty good if you are at least 20 feet away, but up close you start to see the imperfections. All of this brought the value of the car down to where our client had to modify his offer. While this car was still a good find for the right buyer, it may not have been in the condition that one of our readers would want. The Lamborghini Countach is the very essence of an exotic car. For most sports car enthusiasts it is the visual definition of what exotic means. This 1989 Lamborghini Countach is the 25th Anniversary edition. It is being offered for sale at Motorcar Classics in Farmingdale, New York. Featured in red with a tan interior, it is one of only 657 examples of the 25th Anniversary edition of the Countach. It would be the final and most highly developed Countach ever produced. In addition to a front air dam and completely redesigned engine, the cooling system was now integrated into the body lines. It is powered by Lamborghini's svelt 455 hp V-12 with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This one is a one-owner car from new that has covered only 2,599 miles. The beautiful rear wing was an option.

When a small dealer from Portland, Oregon listed this 1971 Triumph TR6 Roadster for sale we wondered, "Why the high price?" But then we spotted in the ad where they say this car only has 7,379 original miles on it. They say it is an original survivor with such low miles that it makes it a "one-off" for collectors. If you have a classic Corvette project in mind this rolling chassis might be the way to begin. A collector from Windsor, Ontario, Canada (north side of Detroit) has listed a Corvette rolling chassis that will fit a 1957 model Corvette (also would work for a 1956.) It has the correct 283 V8 for a 1957. He says it is "perfect, rust free." He says the original 3-speed transmission is included, but it will need to be rebuilt.

Okay, we know people are going to be upset with us when we tell you this is a 1964 Pontiac GTO tribute. The guy who built this car liked the '65 front valance so much he put one on his '64. You can tell it is a real '64 by the back end ... best of both worlds. Of course, he added the 389 with Tripower to the Lemans engine compartment. The HD aluminum radiator and Turbo Hydromatic transmission were add-ons, as was the His & Hers floor shift.

GM got it right with their E-body personal luxury cars in the 1960's. The best one was the 1969 Buick Riviera with the big 430 ci V8 engine. It was a luxury car that had flowing lines and a great design. Looking like a rocket ship, sporting both performance and elegance, it had the hidden headlight front valance. This Riviera is being offered for sale at Streetside Classics in Phoenix, Arizona this week. They upgraded the 430 with aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. You have to hear the rumble of the daul exhaust. Click here to hear it in video. Its hard to miss a 1950 Packard Super Eight Deluxe sedan going down the street with its Flying Cormorant hood ornament. It was a big car even for its time. This one is being offered for sale at Classic Car Liquidators in Sherman, Texas. They come up with some of the best prices on collector cars. Check this one out with a pre-purchase inspection through Cars-On-Line. You will need to know the condition of the L-head 327 ci inline 8 engine and the Ultramatic Drive automatic transmission. They say it has a new interior, wide whitewall tires with the Packard hubcaps, a sunvisor and fender skirts. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $19,999.

This 1933 Plymouth 4-Door Deluxe will surprise you. The private party seller from Rochester, Michigan says it "starts and runs great" with an original inline flathead 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed transmission. They say it was garage kept for 45 years, then recently restored with new NOS fenders. They say the paint is beautiful. Of course, it retains its all steel body with wooden spoke rims. The seller disclaims "No rust, dings, scratches, or dents." It comes with a clear title and original owners manual. And he says there are only 66,000 miles on the car. He says he needs room in his garage so he wants to sell it. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. He is only asking $18,000.

You know what we always say about first generation Ford Thunderbirds ... "If you find a good one for under $30,000, buy it ..." So this week Streetside Classics in Tampa, Florida has listed a 1957 Ford Thunderbird for $29,995. That fits the description. It has an NOM Ford 302 ci V8 engine, Performer intake and Holley 4-barrel carburetor. They note the strong brightwork, glossy paint and straight lines. It comes with fender skirts, whitewall tires and exhaust routed through the rear bumper. And, they say it also comes with the auxiliary hardtop. Although it was in storage for 17 years, this 1931 Ford Model A Deluxe Rumble Seat Coupe has been freshly tuned. It was owned by a Model A collector who has consigned it to Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois. The owner says it has a smooth running Ford Inline 4 cylinder engine and 3-speed manual transmission. It has a rare adjutable seat, drivers side mirror and even a windshield wiper. It has a rumble seat done in tan vinyl upholstery, and a luggage rack plus rear brake lights. This great icond of American motoring will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is only $14,900.

By 1974 Cadillac had become the symbol of American affluence and wealth. It was the biggest luxury car on the road and indeed it was a status symbol. MGM Classic Cars in Addison, Illinois has listed this 1974 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible in Gold metallic paint with a white interior. You will note the parade boot, with new beige convertible top, power seats, power passenger seats, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power locks, power release trunk, air conditioning, rear defroster, power antenna and power windows. It has everything a true "land yacht" should. It will be our DEAL of the DAY toward the end of next week. The asking price is only $17,900. That's a lotta' car for the money.

These Shay Model A replcas are so popular. Back in the day they were sold at Ford dealerships. This 1980 Shay Model A Roadster iis being featured for sale at Cody's Classic Cars in Stanley, Wisconsin. They tell lus it has only 4,950 original milei on a smooth running 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with a 4-speed manual transmission. Here is a chance to cruise in a Model A and still do highway speeds.
