The GAA Classic Auction Summer Edition 2021 is underway in Greensboro, North Carolina. Oh, boy, the auction fever is hot. They expect about 650 vehicles for this three-day sale. That's big!

Yes, our Cars-On-Line car show team is primed and ready to report all the action we observe here in North Carolina this weekend. We are especially interested in what these prime collector cars will sell for. The top sale here on Friday was a 1969 Camaro Z/28 (shown here) selling for $107,000 at the hammer. Here is a great opportunity to own one of the most significant Indy Pace Cars of all time. The 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 Indy Pace Car Convertible has long been one of the favorites of Baby Boom era car collectors. This one, being offered for sale this week by RK Motors Charlotte, is even more valuable because it has a correct 396 big block motor. Not only has it been professionally restored, but it has been authenticated by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish, and comes with the Camaro Hi-Performance Certificate of Authenticity. You can see copies of the MacNeish paperwork in the ad photos at the link. It has a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and the original 12-bolt rear axle. RK Motors tells us it has the Pace Car door decals to go with the car.

Here is a timely offering, a 1958 Chevrolet NAPCO Apache "Big Window" Pickup. These classic 4-wheel-drive vehicles fit right in with the recent popularity of "classic off-road" vehicles. This Chevrolet "Big Window" was converted to a 4X4 by NAPCO, an aftermarket 4-wheel-drive manufacturer. It is being offered for sale this week by Classic Car Studio, a professional restoration shop and reseller just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. They tell us it has undergone a full frame-off restoration and currently presents in beautiful, show quality condition. "We don’t think they built them this nice when they were new," they wrote in their description. The truck is equipped with the rare NAPCO Power-Pak 4WD system. The drive train has the factory 4-speed transmission with a new clutch that runs through the correct and overhauled NAPCO Spicer 23 2-speed transfer case with power takeoff. 

If you are looking for an NCRS show car, you might want to check out this 1971 Corvette Convertible being offered for sale by a private party seller from North Haven, Connecticut. The seller says it recently scored 96.8 at an NCRS event. It is a 4-speed car. The ad says it only has 25k miles.

It takes a bodyman's vision to see it, but Beverly HIlls Car Club tells us this 1968 Amphicar 770 Convertible has tremendous potential for restoration. That's why it is the top car in our Project Car Section this week. The Los Angeles based classic car reseller says this vehicle comes equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, single carburetor, soft top frame, and steel wheels.

The 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible was a 60th Year Anniversary offering to honor Corvette heritage. When a private party seller from Canada listed his special edition 427 convertible it had only 2,000 miles on it. He was so protective of the 60th Anniversary wheels that he put them in storage and replaed them with ZR-1 wheels. He was asking $65,000 for it then. But just this week he dropped the price to $57,500. You have to check this car out.

A 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 was listed by Classic Car Studio this week. It is all decked out as a Ford Thunderbolt, one of Ford's most famous purpose built drag racing cars in history. Here is a link to their interesting video walk-around. It is a very authentic looking build. From the tear drop hood to the authentic graphics, this car looks as good as it sounds.

It is not often that we get a chance to show you a Pontiac GTO in our DEAL of the DAY feature. But here is one. This is a 1970 Pontiac GTO 2-Door Hardtop which is being offered for sale by a private seller from Rochester, New York. He says he has the PHS documents to prove its authenticity. It comes with a 400 ci V8 and an automatic transmission on the column. The description is a little short, but you can call to find out more. He indicates that there are a lot of new parts installed, but does not elaborate on what parts he is referring to. This is the hot buy of the week. After all, it's a GTO! It will be our featured DEAL of the DAY on the front page of our website on Saturday. The asking price is $20,000. Hurry!

A 1930 Oldsmobile F 30 Sedan is in our new listings this week. It is being offered for sale at Connors Motorcar Company in West Chester, Pennsylvania. They tell us it has a "super solid body" and has just 50,000 miles on the car. Dark Brown with black fenders, it comes with a nice Taupe cloth interior. It runs and drives, according to the ad description. But they note that the engine needs work. It has the 197 ci 6-cylinder motor rated at 62 horsepower. For the right buyer, this could be a wonderful find. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is set at $8,500.

Here is another great opportunity to own a 1928 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan. The seller is from Whiteland, Indiana, and he says a lot of engine and drivetrain work has been done here. You can see from the photos that the old Ford has some great patina. You should have it inspected to see where it is solid and whether there is more than surface rust here. But the seller describes it as a driver which runs and stops well. He says the interior is also in "great condition." He says it is a "good car." It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The Indiana seller is asking $9,500. Call him today.

A 1940 GMC 1/2-Ton Pickup is being offered for sale this week in the Cars-On-Line GMC Section online. The pre-war trucks had been streamlined for a much more updated look. This is a geat example of how GMC's light pickup trucks evolved. What a great looking truck for its day! Although it looks very original on the outside, under the hood it has a GM 350 4-barrel engine, Turbo 350 automatic transmission and power front disc brakes. It also has a Ford rear end, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. You can see the truck has been redone from the ground up. This one is a keeper. It will be our DEAL of the DAY early next week. Amazinglly, the asking price is only $18,995. Hurry!

Haggle Me, an internet broker that helps sellers market their classic and collector cars, just listed an interesting 1952 MG Roadster. It may be more of a restoration project, but it has some elements that might interest the right buyer. It needs a lot of TLC to get it cleaned up and looking better. A good inspection would tell you much more about this one. But the price is so right that it is worth looking into. They say it has a 1972 Volkswagen chassis. A kit was used to build the classic replica. According to Haggle Me, it is a fun car to drive. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. The asking price is only $7,500.

Thanks to Ralph Nader's wild accusations, this 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible came with the Fisher built Z body that addressed the suspension issues. It now resembled the Corvette chassis. This driver quality example is being offered for say by Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. They say the exterior is in "fair" condition, with notes in the description as to areas of rust beginning to be a problem. While the trim is presentable, there are issues with the convertible top and some clean up needed in the interior. This is another car that should be considered only if you want to do the work. But the price is right. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. The asking price is $14,900.

Here is a very desirable classic muscle car which they say is an "excellent running and driving car" but needs restoration. It is a 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible. The seller, from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, says you could "Restore as you go," meaning you can enjoy the car while you are gradually updating it. It has the 455 ci V8 motor and a 4-speed. That is significant because the seller points out that only about 400 of the 442 convertibles were produced with 4-speeds that year. It is desirable because it is red with a white top and nicely optioned (including power steering power top, power brakes, 12-bolt rear end, gauges, bucket seats and a console. It is set up just the way you would want it. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $21,000.
