One of the most original AMC AMX muscle cars you can find is up for sale for the first time this week. Never advertised for sale before, this 1968 AMC AMX dubbed The Famous AMX will cause a stir in the collector car world as word gets out. It has had national attention and also has the provenance of a great American muscle car.
It was the first year for the AMX, so two brothers decided to buy a 1968 AMC AMX and keep it pristine for posterity. They vowed they would never sell it. Their AMX with the rare Calcutta Russett finish and white sport stripes would be their treasure. Within months of buying their new AMX one of the brothers went to Vietnam never to return. The other brother kept his word and maintained the car until his passing in 2005. Great cars have great stories like that. The second owner did a light resoration (with just 45,000 miles on it, it only needed carpets and a few little things), and then took it to national car shows like the American Motors Owners Association Nationals where it was a concours winner and took home the Junior Gold Award. Other honors followed including a Powerblock TV show where it was featured in 2010, and the 2011 Baton Rouge Concours D'Elegance where it won People's Choice and was spotted by guest host Jay Leno who later featured it in a video on his website Jay Leno's Garage.
It was puchased by MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, Massachustts to resell in 2016. But it was sold immediately off the showroom floor, to one of their regular customers. Just this year in September it was bought back by MS Classic Cars with just 53,316 miles on it. They have now decided to advertise it on the national market.
There is much more to the story on this very original 1968 AMC AMX. You will find it on our blog page this week at MyDreamCar.online. Within the article you will get a chance to view a walk-around video in which Marc Schiliro of MS Classic Cars gives you some inside info and you can hear it run. Then use the comment box below the story to tell us about your AMX exeriences. We love to hear your stories.

Here is some breaking news from the GAA Classic Auction in Greensboro, North Carolina. They just posted a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible from the Rick Hendrick Collection in Charlotte. This Plum Crazy convertible muscle car is a real U Code 440 6 Pack convertible, one of only 99 produced that year. What is amazing about this announcement is that this desirable muscle car will be offered at No Reserve in the GAA Classic Auction next month. Another car from the Hendrick Collection which will sell at No Reserve is the 1970 Pontiac GTO 455 HO Convertible featured right here in this newsletter last year. GAA Classic Auctions will run a three-day sale February 25 through the 27 at their Greensboro auction facilty. They tell us there will be over 650 vehicles in the sale. See many of them in the New Listings below. Find the GAA Classic Auction banner in the right hand margin of this page (desktop view only) to get more info, or click here.
Every internet classic car buyer needs a dependable transport company to complete a sale. This week a new auto transport company has joined the Cars-On-Line Service Network. They aim to revolutionize the auto shipping industry, especially where it concerns classic and specialty cars. We'd like our readers to get to know American Auto Shipping, headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. They cover the entire United States and offer expert assistance in international shipping as well. Want a quote an how much to ship to your location? Their fast quoting service is designed to give you a quote in just 30 seconds. Yes, that is amazing. Their digital algorithm strives to provide the lowest price based on time and distance. It calculates supply and demand factors and diesel fuel rates, so you never are contacted by the shipping contractor and asked for more money to complete your delivery. How often has that happened to you, right? They say the price you are quoted is the only price you'll pay. Let's check them out Click here to get a quote.
One of our advertisers had a big week. He not only SOLD his 1932 Ford 3-Window Coupe, but he also said he SOLD a 1929 Ford Model A old school hot rod and a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe project car. "Thanks, Cars-On-Line," he wrote us on his SOLD notification form. "Good job."
Now Bill knows why we always say ... "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Click this link to view a list of the cars and trucks that SOLD this week on Cars-On-Line.com.

Do you want to own a car that could compete for a top national award? Check out this fresh 1933 Ford Coupe. Classic Car Deals, an internet broker, is selling it for their high profile client in Texas. That is a 383 stroker motor with a 671 Weiand Supercharger and Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads. The shotgun scoops feed Quickfuel dual 650 carbs. The suspension has chrome Viking coil overs on all four, chromed upper and lower control arms, and it uses ladder control arms for "no tire bounce." And the interior is simply breathtaking, with show quality leather. You have to see this to believe it. It has Kenwood DVD, Bluetooth, Navigation, premium Kenwood speakers, and even a backup cam. The tires are Nitto, 20-inch back and 17-inch front. It gets the conversation going wherever it goes.
We all know the 2003 Ferrari Enzo is a rare exotic car. There were only 400 made. This 2003 Ferrari Enzo just posted for sale by Legendary Motorcar Company is Rosso Scuderia (not to be confused with Rosso Corsa.) They say it is very rare. You can watch a video showing how the two red colors are different. But here at the Cars-On-Line office we always thought the rarest were the black Enzos. It turns out we were wrong. Of the 126 Ferrari Enzos built for the U.S. they believe there are about 12 in Nero Black. They say that there were only a handful of Rosso Scuderia Enzos produced in the world. That would seem to make them the rarest of the Enzo Ferraris, in other words the "rarest of the rare." It also drives the value way up for collectors.
Hey, you deserve to have some fun today. Let's take a test drive in a 1965 Factory Five Shelby Cobra with Rock Solid Motorsports in Elkhart, Indiana. Join their video team as they put this exotic Shelby Cobra replica through its paces. This particular Factory Five Cobra has only 4,171 miles since it was completed. Titled as a 1965, it was built using only new parts with no donor parts. It is powered by a Ford 5.0L V8 crate engine and backed by a Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission. It runs and drives very well, as you will see from the video.

The private seller says the paint is PERFECT. He originally wanted $125,000 for his treasured Safari. But this week he lowered the price to $85,000. Now that's a price drop!

It's a fresh restoration! Look at the photos of this 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS Z16 Convertible tribute and see if it doesn't bring back memories. It has a fresh 396 big block and the original numbers matching Muncie 4-speed. The private seller from Wisconsin tells us it has the original 12-bolt rear end. What a find!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line homepage. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the homepage!
1964 was the first year for Buick's great achievement, the Riviera. Bold and styled to meet the desires of the "Yuppie" generation of upwardly mobile Americans, the Riviera was a benchmark design for U.S. automakers. The 1964 Buick Riviera is the epitome of that time in history. With its 425 ci V8 engine, and clean sophiticated design lines, the Riviera was everything you could want in a car back in the day. In fact, it still is today. This one is being offered for sale by a private seller from Sparta, New Jersey. He says it has 73k mles. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is only $17,000.
This one is a little unusual. Most classic Thunderbirds are all original and you have to baby them and carefully drive them. But here is a 1957 Ford Thunderbird that is a resto mod. And, best of all, it is priced in an affordable range. It has a built 351 ci V8 (bored out '69 block) with aluminum heads, FiTech Mean Street fuel injection and a TCI Street Fighter automatic transmission with overdrive, line lock and a 3500 stall torque converter. Wow! That drives the rear wheels with an 8.8" rear end with Moser 31 spline axle and 3.73 gears with posi. It also has a 2X3 square tube chassis under the glass body. And it has a Mustang II front end with full coil over rear susension. That's a lotta' car for not much money. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is only $22,995. Hurry!
It's funny, isn't it, how some cars look old for a period of time. Then as time goes by they start to look more beautiful with age. That's how I look at this 1948 Dodge D24 Sedan. The older it gets, the more interesting it becomes. This one is being sold by a private seller from Woburn, Massachusetts. He says it has 89k miles and is one of those Chrysler cars that had Fluid Drive. This one is said to be all original except for the paint. Although there are dings and scratches, and the interior is showing wear, the seller says everything still works. He notes that the fuel gauge and clock do not work. He says he drives the car everywhere, and recently did a one-and-a-half hour trip in it. It is a car you can drive just the way it is. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is only $7,900. Hurry!
Jensen and Austin Healey combined to produce a British two-seater sports car in England from 1972 through 1976. The Jensen-Healey was known as a luxury oriented sports car to compete with Triumph and Jaguar. By using the Lotus 907 engine it achieved an excellent 50/50 weight balance and the handling was amazing. This week, Classic Car Deals, an internet broker and member of the Cars-On-Line Dealer Network, posted this 1974 Jensen-Healey Convertible in original condition with its Lotus engine. It comes with a hardtop and soft top. They say the California car is in good working order. It runs and drives and has current California registration. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is only $8,495.
With classic sport utilities being the hot trend in the collector car market right now, here is a great find. Although it is more of a project, this 1965 Jeep Wagoneer is an early version of what the Jeep crossover sport utilities are today. You don't see these early Wagoneers very often. The private seller from Myerstown, Pennsylvania is offering it as a project for restoration. However, he says it runs and drives and is a solid Jeep with very little rust. It comes with the 230 ci inline 6 cylinder engine, a 2-wheel-drive model with a 3-speed manual transmission. Originally from California, the interior needs a lot of work, and it also needs some bodywork. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later in the week. The asking price is $5,000.
If you are a classic truck collector this may be the "sleeper" deal of the week. A 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup was listed for sale by a private seller from Roa, Michigan. He says it has a 235 ci 6 cylinder engine rebuilt in 2014 by a local machine shop. They used a Fenton dual intake with progressive linkage and Fenton dual exhaust with Thrush mufflers. It has push button start on the floor and a 3-speed on the column. The body was painted in 2005 but has a couple of spots where it is bubbling from poor paint prep. He says there is no rust on the frame or body. All glass is good and the wood bed has no issues. The interior is redone to stock original. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later in the week. The asking price is $15,500.
In the classic 4-wheel off-roading category this is a real find. You can tell from the photos that this 1950 Willys Jeep M38 has had a frame-up restoration with an all new body. The private seller from Orchard, Washington says the Buick V6 231 ci engine has been completely rebuilt, as has the tranny and transfer case. They used all new or rebuilt parts to complete the job. The seller says he has invested $14,000 in parts alone. Receipts on the work are available to view. The Jeep does still need headlights and turn signals to complete the build. He says it comes with a clear California title. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $6,000. This one may not last the weekend.
