It's interesting, isn't it, how Pontiac introduced the muscle car era with its 1964 Pontiac GTO, and, when the muscle car era ended, Pontiac still stood alone producing a muscle car, the Pontiac Trans Am. The synchronicity is priceless. And the greatest Trans Am of all time was the Super Duty SD-455. Although rated from the factory at only 290 horsepower, the Trans Am Super Duty could outperform any of its earlier muscle car era predecessors. It was the last of the great muscle cars in America.
This week, Carolina Muscle Cars out of Benson, North Carolina posted a 1973 Pontiac Super Duty Trans Am with the legendary SD-455 high performance motor. Find dozens of high resolution photos in the ad, as well as a long list of options that came orignally on this car. Yes, this one is original. A classic car appraiser from Michigan has certified that "all the numbers match" on this extraordinary 1-owner car. It was ordered new at VanderZee Buick-Pontiac, Inc. in South Haven, Michigan on March 27, 1973. It still has just 53k original miles.
The documentation on the Super Duty Trans Am is extensive. It includes the original, hand-written Bill of Sale, signed by dealership owner, Raymond VanDerZee. They also have the original title, dating back to January 11, 1977, the day the lein was paid off.
For a full historic perspective on this car you may wish to read our MyDreamCar.online blog page today. Then let us now your Trans Am experiences in the Comments box below the article. We love to hear your stories.

The competition for the best street rod builder in America was pretty fierce this year at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals 2021. If you were able to follow our coverage of the National Street Rod Association's big event you know that Scott Sheets of L & S Customs in Prospect Hills, North Carolina won the award for their build on a 1950 Chevy 3100 Custom Pickup. There were 35 entries in the Builders Showcase at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville where the NSRA Nationals are held. You can read all about it when you follow this link to our ClassiCarNews blog page. There you will also find hundreds of photos of the cars and activities we reported on in Louisville. It was a great show.
The off-road authority, ExtremeTerrain (XT) revealed their all-new 2021 Ford Bronco as part of their “Throttle Out” YouTube series. With some interesting insights on how Ford expects collectors and off-roaders to use the new Bronco, host Justin Dugan shows what XT's upgrades will look like. With retro vibes and strong off-road capabilities, the 2021 Bronco is set to give Jeep some competition in the Off-Roadin' hobby. They take a close look at Ford's 6th gen options for interior and exterior mods. And Dugan gives advice and suggestions that will come in handy for those looking to purchase and modify Ford’s first-ever 4-door Bronco. Click here to go to the video content page.

Is this 1954 Buick Skylark Convertible one of the finest in the country? The evidence is in this ad listed by Classic Auto Showplace in Troy, Michigan. It scored 398 of 400 possible points at the 1998 Buick Club of America National meet. The original Gull Gray color is thought to be a one-off from the factory. It perfectly contrasts the red leather interior. It is one of only 836 Skylark convertibles built in 1954 (no hardtops produced.) The restoration was done in 1998. It has the 322 ci Fireball V8 engine with a Twin-Turbine Dynaflow automatic transmission. These cars came with independent front suspension and unequal-length A-arms. Follow this link to review a walk-around video by Classic Auto Showplace.
You might say this 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo was born to be collectible. Bought as an investment, the original owner only drove it 75 miles before placing it in storage until 1983. The second owner, a Porsche Club of America member in Georgia, sent it to Porschraft of Atlanta for an all-metal slant nose upgrade to factory specs. It is being presented for sale this week at Daniel Schmitt & Co in St Louis. The exquisite 930 Turbo came from the factory ordered with nearly every available option including air conditioning and electric sunroof. Original documents include original window sticker, sales invoice, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, as well as extensive service records. Click this link for a walk-around video at Daniel Schmitt & Co's showroom gallery.
We are really impressed with the fresh inventory at Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta. They just joined our COL Dealer Network and we have had our first chance to see their listiings today. We noticed this 1989 Pontiac Trans Am 20th Anniversary Edition which is also an Indy Pace Car edition for that year. Not only was it factory built to commemorate the 1989 Indianapolis 500 race, but they say it was one of the Festival Cars which actually went around the track in the pre-race activities. Heavily documented, it still has only 24k miles on it. Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta has an interesting history of the car on their ad page. One thing we like about their ads is that they often give you a walk-around video tour of the vehicle. Click here to review the Indy Pace Car in a short video and test drive. And watch for more of their fresh listings in the ads featured below.
In Bronze and Silver tutone colors, this custom built 1964 Chevrolet Stepside is so nice you have to look at the video to get the full impact. Not just an old truck, this one has been completely gone through to make it like new. Very fresh and clean. Click the video window above to see it for yourself. Dave, from Showdown Auto in Clinton Township, Michigan, narrates the tour. Everything is new and beautiful.

Here is an amazing find, just out of long term storage. Classic & Collectible Cars of Las Vegas just listed a 1977 Mercury Marquis Sedan in amazing condition. The one-owner car is said to have just 2,486 original miles. Yes, you read that right. They call it "pristine" and "original." It comes with a 351 ci V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, AM/FM 8-track and a power antenna.

A collector from Deland, Florida says this 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner is a "real barn find." Red with a red and black interior, he notes that it has only 58,000 original miles. It still has the Flathead V8, a 3-speed on the column, and has been garage kept. He states that there is no rust in the under carriage, and also no rust in the trunk. For the right buyer this is an important find.

When a 1962 Chevy Bel Air Bubble Top was listed for sale by a private collector in Bellingham, Washington, he said it has only 500 miles on the rebuild. It is described as an excellent body-off restoration with excellent paint and chrome. Note the dog dish hubcaps. He says it runs and drives excellent. It was originally listed for sale at $82,000. But just this week the seller dropped his price to $65,000.

Maybe here is that opportunity you've always wanted to own a classic Corvette. This one's pretty cheap, too. Beverly Hills Car Club out of Los Angeles, California is offering a 1968 Corvette Convertible for sale. They may have just discovered it out of storage. You can see that it needs some TLC. It has ginky headlight covers and a non-original hood. But it is red with a black interior, a 327 ci V8 motor with M/T valve covers and a 4-speed manual transmission. It will not be for everyone. If you are mechanically inclined you might want to check it out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. After all, this is a classic Corvette convertible for only $24,750.
If you are interested in immersing yourself in the old car hobby there could be no better way to get started than with this 1931 Ford Model A Rumble Coupe. Classic Mustang prices have been edging upwards in the past few years. There are so many early Mustangs that have been preserved and restored that it has kept the pricing down because they are not hard to find. However, nice ones like this 1966 Mustang Coupe from a private seller in North Ridgeville, Ohio are getting more pricey. The seller says it has the original 289 ci V8 engine with a new oil pump, rebuilt heads and rebuilt carburetor. It has been switched over to electronic ignition also. You may want to have this one inspected to find out its condition class. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The price is $14,000.
We couldn't get over this photo of a 1976 Triumph TR7 with Mount Rainier in the background. The Seattle, Washington seller has great taste in photo composition. He also has great taste in cars. This one is a tribute to the rare Triumph TR7 Sprint hardtop which was actually produced only in 1977. It has the Sprint style a 2.0 liter slant four cylinder engine with a 16 valve head, long tube headers, twin SU6 carbs, 5-speed manual transmission and a stout rear with a 3:09:1 rear drive. This is the one you want. But best of all, it is very affordable. It will be our DEAL of the DAY early next week. The asking price is only $9,900. You could have it inspected before you buy. But hurry!
We used to call them "country club cars." Only in America did the cars grow bigger with the wealth of the country. Only here would you be able to buy a two-door luxury car with sporty design and luxury features. That is the background behind this 1964 Pontiac Bonneville, powered by a muscle car quality 389 ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. This one is being offered for sale by Rock Solid Motorsports, a classic car dealer in Elkhart, Indiana. Click here to view a walk-around video inspection. See how clean this car really is. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on the front page of Cars-On-Line.com. The asking price is $18,995.

Kaiser pioneered the development of the McCulloch Supercharger in his six cylinder vehicles. It raised the horsepower from 118 to 140 hp. They tell us this car came from a well maintained private collection in Texas. It features wire hubcaps along with nice Coker wide whitewall tires. They say this rare example fires right up and shifts smoothly. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. The asking price is $16,500.
Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles has a 1969 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow for sale at a very attractive price. Buyers should be aware that this car is not in show quality condition, but they can find dozens of detailed photos on the ad page. The vehicle comes equipped with an automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows, power steering, chrome bumpers, and white line tires. Beverly Hills Car Club tells us it comes with service documents and receipts dating from 2000 to 2021 totaling over $10,000 in updates and maintainance. They call it an excellent original Silver Shadow that has been garaged kept and is mechanically sound. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $15,750.
