When the 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator came out with the Boss 302 edition it was almost as though Mercury wanted to keep it a secret. It was not heavily advertised, and the general public seemed unaware that the Boss 302 was available in a Cougar. Mercury only put it in the Cougar Eliminator, their premium muscle car for that year.
A real deal 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator Boss 302 was just listed for sale by a private seller in San Antonio, Texas this week. We knew we had to show it to you here. The Texas seller notes that it is original and has not been restored. In addition to being a rare Boss 302 Eliminator, this car has special provenance since it was first purchased by Dr. Kenneth Miles Moser, a renowned San Diego Medical Center lung specialist who pioneered a procedure that saved thousands of lives and is still being used today. This car was preserved in the California sun for decades and remains unrestored and original. Furthermore it comes with excellent documentation.
For an interesting history of the Boss 302 and how the Cougar became a Boss 302 muscle car, click here to read our MyDreamCar.online blog today. Then write your comments in the box below the article. We love to hear your stories.

Coronavirus seems to be causing some changes no one would have anticipated in the motorsports world. It is almost like an alternative reality, but this week we heard that some NASCAR drivers are participating in what they call the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series. It is simulation racing online against other online racers, or in other words NASCAR drivers playing video games. With the cancellation of NASCAR racing until May, this new virtual racing series of events is being created for online viewing by NASCAR and Fox Sports. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Bobby Labonte, and Kyle Busch are already signed up to participate in these virtual events as Fox Sports is set to televise them. The first one is set for this weekend March 22, 2020, at 1:30 Eastern on Fox's FS1 channel. Go to eNASCAR.com for more info.
All of the members of the Cars-On-Line Dealer Network are limiting their sales to "By Appointment Only" this week. RK Motors Charlotte said in a statement, "We take the health and safety of our customers and the community seriously, so in an effort to keep everyone safe during this time, we are making our showroom available by appointment only until further notice." Similar messages appear on the websites of our other dealers. Some dealers are telling us they will hold vehicles for several weeks for persons who want to buy now. We commend them for their sacrifice. And we know they will be up and running again in a few weeks.
Here is the way we see it. If everyone in the U.S. pitches in and does their part this will all be over before you know it. The best way to crush this COVID-19 is to starve it out. So lets stay in our homes for the next two weeks so that the infections will be minimal. Once the coast is clear, there will be plenty of great cars and trucks to buy. Stay safe out there.

Here is a rare one from a private seller in Morton Grove, Illinois. A 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible with the 400 ci motor with Ram Air III intake was listed for sale. This one is a high level show winner with the seller telling us it trophied at the Trans Am Nationals, MCAC Nationals, Pontiac Oakland Club International meet and others. They say this one is a "flawless restoration" on a numbers matching Firebird with only 36,000 miles. PHS docs say it came with 36 factory installed options making it very rare indeed. One of a kind? This one is worth checking out if you like Ponchos.
Owned by a fussy full service repair shop owner, this 1956 Ford Thunderbird is being offered for sale at Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois. They tell us it is a very nice solid Southwest car , rust free, with new brakes and suspension. Notice the underside in the full walk-around video. It does have the 312 ci V8 4-barrel motor with chrome dress up kit. Click the video window above to view the walk-around and hear it run.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page!
When this 1965 Corvette Convertible was listed for sale this week we had to call the classic car dealer in Canada to make sure this for real. The seller says it is an interesting opportunity for the right buyer to own a very desirable mid-year Corvette convertible for a great price. He notes that the older paint still looks good but has cracks in the lacquer finish. He says the body and frame are "excellent." The 327 Corvette motor has been upgraded to 350 horsepower. Brakes, brake lines and bushings have been redone in the last five years, according to the ad copy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is only $40,000. Hurry on this one.
The 1929 Ford Model A Town Sedan with Style 155-B trim is a very interesting find from a Model A collector in the Chicago area. It is being offered by Midwest Car Exchange out of Alsip, Illinois. It has the live rear axle with semi-eliptical leaf springs. This is the model that has a 200.5 cu in. L-Head in-line four cylinder engine, stock 3-speed manual floor shift transmission and inter-woven 4-wheel drum brakes. This is the rare Briggs version Town Sedan with larger rear passenger window. A complete portfolio of the restoration has been kept up to date. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday as the asking price is only $16,900. This is a real important piece of history.
Looking for a starter car to begin your collection? Here is a 1956 Dodge Sedan which will be as affordable as it is rare. We are told it is being offered by a private collector in California. The broker for the sale is Classic Car Deals, a member of the Cars-On-Line Dealer Network. Powered by a 270 V8 engine with a 2-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission, they say it has had a new tune up. This is an original car built in Canada with just 93,000 miles. With everything said to be working on the car, they say it runs excellent and drives very well. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price is only $9,995.
First generation Mustang convertibles are among the most popular vehicles for Americans to collect. So it is not often that we see a 1966 Mustang Convertible like this one for such a low price. Beverly Hills Car Club has this post today for an original Wimbeldon white Mustng with a black interior. It comes equipped with an automatic transmission with a 289 V8 engine, power steering, OEM radio, manual soft top with boot, and solid wheels with white line tires. They tell us this one is mechanically sound. As always we suggest that you have it inspected before you buy. But don't delay in contacting them. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is only $18,750.
Classic Car Deals, a collector car broker in the Cars-On-Line Dealer Network, is selling a collection of classic microcars this week (see Microcars above in the New Listings.) One of them is this 1990 Rover Mini Mayfair with the livery of a "Monte Carlo" style Rally car. Don't get the idea that this is a show car by any means. Some of the decals are lifting and the exterior has its problems. It would be essential to have inspected before you buy. The interior and engine compartment might surprise you. Look at the photos. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week because the asking price for this piece of history is just $15,895.
A Volkswagen Camper is a hot commodity on the West Coast where Gen-Xers all seem to be in love with them. So here is a 1971 VW Westfalia Camper with the popup top. It is white over read with a tan interior. Look at the photos. It comes equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, single Solex carburetor, rear jump seat, sink, camp stool, crank outside windows, fold up table, and solid wheels. They say this is an excellent original California bus that is mechanically sound. We have not seen one in this price range in a while. So hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $17,500.
The first year for the full size Bronco was 1978. Prior to that it was the smaller sport utilities that were popular. But by '78 the K5 Blazer was already the top selling SUV and Ford was catching up. So here is a 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT being offered from Motorcar Studio, a classic car dealer in Atlanta, Gerogia. This was the game changer for Ford. They tell us it is a driver quality vehicle. ",,, not rusty -- floors pans and rockers are in excellent original condition," they say. Be sure to watch the walk-around video which Motorcar Studio has produced to show off this desirable collector SUV. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is affordable at $19,900.
