Having been restored by AMC Muscle Car guru Gordy Chilson of Pennsylvania, the 1969 AMC Hurst Rambler SC/rambler stands flawless in all its muscle car splendor. They say no shortcuts were taken when bringing this little giant killer back to its glory days.
Since few American new car buyers seemed to be aware of the SC/Rambler back in the day, it certainly could be argued that it was one of the best kept secrets in the muscle car world. The American Motors Company, known mostly as an economy car builder, wanted to compete with the big three in everything during the muscle car wars. When this 1969 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler muscle car was listed on the Cars-On-Line website in the AMC Muscle Car Section this week, it caused a ripple in the AMC collector community. Only 1,512 Rambler SC/Ramblers were ever built. Historians think that about 1,200 SC/Ramblers came from the factory with the broad red body sides, wild hood graphics, and a fat blue dorsal stripe. This was referred to as the "A" color scheme. People also called it the "Yankee Doodle" paint job. It was the most popular of the two color schemes for these collector cars.
Just think about it. This is one of the most exciting muscle cars of all time. It combined a Ram Air 390 ci V8 with a 4-speed and posi, all stuffed into a little Rambler economy car. It has the 602 Sun Tach, registering 8 grand, which would have been factory correct. The seller says it has just 55,235 miles. Underneath each SC/rambler was a heavy duty suspension.
Were they really fast? Find out when you read the full history of the Rambler SC/Rambler in this week's Cars-On-Line blog site, MyDreamCar.online. Follow this link to find out more info, ET times and factory specs.

The Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival will celebrate its 18th year in the fall of 2019. They just sent out a press release which features four of the historic cars which will be on display there this year. In conjunction with the Historic Vehicle Association (HVA), four vehicles from the National Historic Vehicle Register will be on display. One of these cars is the 1907 Thomas Flyer, the car piloted across the world in the first transcontinental automobile race in 1908 where it took first place when it arrived in Paris months after departing New York City. The other rare cars are the 1933 Graham Blue Streak, the 1948 Tucker Tin Goose and the 1985 Ferrari Modena Spyder California recreation from the Ferris Bueller movie. The cars will move to the grounds of the Port Royal Golf Club on Hilton Head Island where they will be on display during the Festival’s Car Club Showcase (Saturday, November 2 from 9:00am to 6:00pm) and Concours d’Elegance (Sunday, November 3 from 9:00am to 4:00pm).

Are you a connoisseur of the finer things in life? Like your vodka martini shaken, not stirred? If you have a little bit of James Bond in your soul, you might want to check out this 1964 Aston Martin DB5 just posted for sale at Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria, New York. Aston Martin is known for its exciting design lines giving it an iconic look and stance. But the luxury and performance features really make the car. This is a truly honest example of the Aston Martin legend, having been restored by Kevin Kay Restoration. It is offerd here in its original colors, Platinum with a blue interior. It is an original California blue plate car with decades of registration stickers. It was the fifth DB5 built, giving it historic status, and it comes with extensive documentation. Collectors will consider it a significant find.
A private seller from Bonita Springs, Florida has this really rare 1957 Dodge D100 Sweptside Pickup for sale this week. Classic truck collectors know that these little trucks are more rare than a tri-five Cameo Carrier or an early Ford Ranchero. And this truck is so clean! (Look at the photos here.) The seller says it had about 89k original miles on it when he bought it from a California dealer. He says it starts right up whenever he needs it. It is one of only 180 Sweptside pickups which were produced by Dodge that year. Never mass produced on the Dodge assembly line, they were all hand-built in the Special Equipment Section of the plant. Chrysler called it "the prettiest truck ever built."

From the Red Ram Hemi to the Powerflite automatic transmission to the power convertible top, they go through a walk-around tour for your review in video. Classic pickup collectors, you just can't do any better than this. Here is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 Pickup from R&R Classic Cars in Val Caron, Ontario, Canada, a classic car dealer there. They say it has only 14,248 actual original miles. With a 283 V8 and 3-speed standard column shift transmission, it retains a solid body with all authentic GM sheet metal. They tell us 90 percent of the paint is original. Call them about this amazing find.

Whereas the original asking price was $109,000, they told us to drop the price to $84,950 this week.

Here is a real 1966 Mustang K Code Fastback which was transformed into a 1965 Shelby GT350 R Code, the legendary race car model with which Carroll Shelby won the B production SCCA Championships. The K Code 4-speed tribute was restored as a Shelby race car in 2012-2013. Midwest Car Exchange in Alsip, Illinois has it for sale this week. They tell us that the original car had only 14k original miles when the restoration was done. To complete the built they had to search out and install vintage and licensed reproduction R model parts.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
The price leader for Unique Specialty & Classics out of Mankato, Minnesota this week makes our featured DEAL of the DAY here in the newsletter. It is a sweet looking 1978 Pontiac Trans Am which is being offered for a very affordable price. That is significant because these late 1970's Trans Ams are in demand among muscle car collectors. Under the hood is a 6.6L V8 with an automatic transmission. They say it shows 46,525 miles. It comes equipped with power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. Here is a walk-around video produced by Unique Specialty & Classics. They say it runs and drives great. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday as the asking price is only $15,900.
There are so many first generation Ford Thunderbirds that have been restored, they have really created more supply than the collector car market can bear. It has depressed the prices on these popular collector cars in recent years. That's the only reason possible for a sweet Baby blue 1957 Ford Thunderbird like this one being offered at such a low price. Chicago Car Club has it for sale this week. They tell us it comes with the desirable 312 ci V8 and a 4-barrel producing 245 hp. The transmission is a Ford 3-speed automatic. It comes with both tops. Follow this link to view the walk-around video. This was a Western car which was restored in the mid-1990's. It has some blemishes and needs some touchup. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday, however. The asking price is only $26,500.
The look and stance of an early 1950's Pontiac really sets them apart. Take, for instance, this 1951 Pontiac Business Coupe being offered for sale by Classic Car Deals, a broker from the Midwest. They say that it is all original and rust free. It really looks good in the photos, doesn't it? Powered by a 6 cylinder engine with a 3-speed manual transmission, the seller tells us that it comes with brand new tires and a new gas tank. As always, you should have it inspected before you buy. But this one looks like it is worth checking out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price is very affordable. The ad copy says you can buy it for $18,995.
This 1953 Ford Customline started out life as a 2-door sedan. It was converted into a convertible cruiser by removing the top and chopping the windshield 4 inches. The private seller from Washington, Missouri says he built a custom tonneau cover for it with headrests, as well as a removable hardtop which features frenched taillights (see the photo.) He says the straight six engine runs flawlessly mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. He says it still has just 63,921 original miles. He has replaced such things as the clutch, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, belt, hoses, dual exhaust, brakes, five Coker whitewall radial tires and upholstered seats. It will be our DEAL of the DAY early next week because the asking price is only $12,850.
An estate sale makes this rather interesting sale possible. A family from Colorado needs to sell this unique 1946 Blown Ford Super Deluxe. Be sure to look at all the photos in the Slide Show ad. The car is clean from what we can see of it. This one might be necessary to have inspected to get a really good impression of it. But it does look good in the photos. From the description we can gleen that it is equipped with a 350 Chevy engine with a 6-71 blower, 2 Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetors, a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, Mustang II front end, front disc brakes, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and VDO gauges. They say it is an excellent driver, "no need for a trailer," they say in the ad copy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $26,999.
Custom choppers on the resale market just don't get the respect they deserve. Take this 2004 Big Dog Ridgeback which is being offered for sale by Fast Lane Classic Cars out of St Charles, Missouri. It has only had one owner since it was built new. Equipped with a 107 ci S&S V-Twin motor and a 6-speed transmission, it will have all the power and rumble you want in a custom bike. They tell us it only has 151 original miles, and it comes with the 250 rear tire, belt drive and clear LED tail lights. The rear seat is removable and comes with a leather storage bag. You can be an Easy Rider with this beauty. The price is so affordable, it will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. They are asking $9,995. Hurry! It will not last long.
Deuce Coupes are among the most highly sought-after hot rods on the planet. That's why we were very surprised to see this 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe listed this week by Streetside Classics. The price is very affordable by comparision to other '32 coupes for sale on the internet. Streetside Classics is one of the largest franchise classic car dealerships in the country with locations all over the U.S. This hot rod is located at their Nashville store. The body is fiberglass reinforced with steel. It has a 350 Chevy small block engine with four-bolt mains. The transmission is a TH400 3-speed automatic mated to a custom 10-bolt rear end which hangs on ladder bars with coilover shocks. This classic black hot rod will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is $26,995. Bet you thought it was gonna' be over $40k. Click this link to view a walk-around video.
