Coming from a private Mopar collection, a well-known 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird is up for sale this week. Man, it just doesn't get any better than this. While any 1970 Plymouth Superbird is a rare find today, to find a Hemi Bird is a Mopar collector's dream. This is one of only 58 produced with the heavy duty A833 4-speed and Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. As did all Hemi Superbirds, it came with the Dana 60 Track Pak option. It's just 17k miles from new. This one is so nicely restored that it won top honors at the Amelia Island Concours.
It was the promise of the Hemi Superbird that brought Richard Petty back to the Plymouth for the 1970 NASCAR season. He won eighteen races that year, piloting a Hemi Superbird in all the super speedway races. The Hemi Superbird had the 426 Hemi engine producing 425 horsepower fed by a pair of Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetors. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds. And that wing ... a real big wing that kept the rear axle on the ground on the high banked ovals of the NASCAR super speedways, that was the one iconic performance element that no other muscle car ever had.
The car shown here has an all matching numbers drivetrain. Along with the car, the buyer will get two broadcast sheets, the original window sticker and the IBM punch card. Very few Hemi Superbirds still exist with this much documentation. In fact, it is estimated that only 35 actual Hemi Superbirds have survived.

There was a lot of talk on the internet recently about this U.S. Marshall's Federal Seizure Auction coming up on October 26, 2019. It seems that in 2018 the FBI raided the offices of DC Solar and arrested the owner and his wife for running a Ponzi scheme. They confiscated 149 vehicles, many of them collector cars. Here is a link to look at some of the cars available in the Federal auction sale. The 1969 Dodge Daytona shown here has 15 online bids at this point. The high bid so far is $28,125. Accordng to their web page, online pre-bidding began on Friday, 10/11/2019. Although online pre-bids are currently being accepted now, the live auction will be held at Apple Towing Co., 550 N. Pioneer Avenue, Woodland, CA 95776 (in the Sacramento area), Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 9 AM PT. Gates open 7 AM. The auction will be streamed live online.
Did you know that the car that won the 18th NASCAR race in 1954 was a Jaguar XK120? In fact, three of the top five places went to Jaguars. It was a road course event held in Linden, New Jersey. "Foreign" sports cars were immediately banned after that happened. It's all part of the history which will be on display at the Hilton Head Island Concours in two weeks. They are planning a "Cats in the Low Country" display of XK120's that is said to be the finest such Jaguar Exhibition ever. Our newsletter readers know that Cars-On-Line.com will be on hand to cover the Hilton Head Island Concours live. Watch for our posts on ClassiCarNews.com, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to review photos and videos from the show. The Hilton Head Island Concours, October 24-November 3, 2019, is one of the most important concours show events in the country. Top vintage collector cars from the U.S. will congregate there for national judging. There will be some rare cars that you do not see anywhere else. The first weekend features vintage sports car racing in Savannah. Then the event culminates in the concours judging on Sunday, November 3. If you haven't experienced the Hilton Head Island Concours, you may want to read our coverage of last year's show here.

A private collector from Caledonia, Michigan is selling his rare, Buccaneer red 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty 455. It is one of only 731 Super Duty TA's produced with an automatic transmission. The white bucket seat interior has power windows and locks, Rally gauges and air conditioning. The Super Duty 455 was the last of the high horsepower big block motors made by Pontiac. The seller says it was an original Arizona car that still has the original primer on the undercarriage. It has all the options, even a rare console in the middle of the rear seats. Read the ad to find out all about the correct stampings and casting numbers. The seller has posted a full Slide Show ad here so you can see lots of detail. Under the hood it is so clean it will make a Poncho collector salivate.
A Mopar collector from Gorrie, Ontario, Canada, listed a number of cars from his collection this week. Not only did he post some desirable Mopar muscle cars, but he included a video of each in his ad. Wait till you hear the 426 Hemi on this gorgeous 1966 Dodge Coronet. It has been stroked to 472 ci with an iron block, Indy aluminum heads and dual 600 cfm carbs. He says it is a rust free Western car with original sheet metal. When you look at the photos of this 1956 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday be sure to view the one that shows the odometer on the dash. You can increase the size of the photo to read the numbers. Yep, it does say 12,751. The tumblers are pretty much aligned, too. The Last Detail has this classic Oldsmobile for sale this week. They say the low miles are indicated by the odometer and service sticker in the door jamb.

A real desirable 1970 Plymouth Cuda is being offered for sale by a Mopar collector in Cuero, Texas. He says it is a real BS N code 4-speed Cuda. Although it is a rolling project car, it is said to need a full restoration. He says the frame rails are solid, needing mostly outside body work. These parts are easily available in the collector market. He is asking $17,500. If you have the ability to finish this project it could be a money maker.

A Baldwin-Motion Camaro is a collector's dream come true. If you can't afford the six figure price it would take to buy a real one, here is a nice 1969 Baldwin-Motion Camaro recreation that might turn your crank. Under the hood you'll find a rebuilt 454 rated at 550 hp and a new TCI Turbo 400 automatic transmission with B&M shifter. The car is being sold by Classic Car Deals, an internet broker. It comes with Rally Green paint and white motion stripes, plus NOS Corvette side-exhaust to complete the Motion look.

Here is a preview of some of the best deals ever offered on the Cars-On-Line.com website. This week we have seen some great low prices on some very important collector cars and trucks. The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Holy cow! Prices on high end collector cars are dropping like rain. This week we see a 1967 Buick Skylark GS being advertised for pocket change. The seller from Keene, New Hampshire does not offer any documentation on the car. It is a 2-Door thin pillar coupe equipped with all the GS badging. Only 1,577 GS Skylark coupes were produced for California dealers only. It still has its original Gold Mist color with original factory Fawn color interior. The seller says it has all the original body panels and did have a respray in 1998. You will note a few blemishes upon close inspection. He says the floors and trunks are very solid. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Can you believe this price? Only $15,500. Hurry!
Another incredible find this week. Studebaker only made the Power Hawk for one year, in 1956. Coming from the Studebaker Commander platform, the Power Hawk was manufactured during the Studebaker-Packard merger years. They were all equipped with the Commander's 259 ci 4.2L V8 motor. This 1956 Studebaker Power Hawk has an automatic transmission with 84k miles showing, believed to be original. The seller, from Falls Creek, Pennsylvania, says it was a barn find which has been put back on the road with exhaust and brakes gone through and new tires. He says it runs and sounds great. The body panels are said to be all original. However, he notes that it is in need of a respray and some other work. He says it is a nice driver that may be considered a ten footer in its current condition. He says the brightwork is "decent." It will be our DEAL of the DAY with an asking price of $18,000.
You don't expect to find one of the most popular classic 1950's cars of all time in the DEAL of the DAY. But here is one. This 1958 Chevrolet Impala 2-Dr Hardtop has been listed for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club, and the price is amazing. They tell us it is mechanically sound and is, in fact, an original California car, something collectors put a high value on. It comes in the iconic Chevrolet Clay Coral paint with a white hardtop and white interior. An automatic, they say it comes with a strong V8 engine, Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner with chromed valve covers and intake manifold. It also has power steering and comes with aftermarket wheels. Altogether, it seems like a very clean and presentable car in excellent California original condition. But the reason it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday is the price. Beverly Hills Car Club is only asking $37,500 for this interesting find. Compare to a much higher average value in the price guides.
Nash and American Motors collectors will get excited over this rare find. A 1956 Nash Statesman Super is being offered for sale through Classic Car Deals, an internet marketing firm or broker. They note that very few of these American made classics still exist. All of the Nash cars were built at the Nash plant in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The indications are that this one may have come from New Mexico so the all steel body is clean and rust free. However, there have been some upgrades done. For instance, it has a 350 small block Chevy engine, 350 Turbo automatic transmission and working air conditioning. This model has front seats which fold down to meet the rear seats. The idea was that people could sleep in them. This is a rare and desirable option for Nash collectors. They say the interior is very nice and complete. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $13,995.
A Belle, West Virginia hot rodder has posted his 1935 Chevy Street Rod for sale this week. What a great looking little car. It is a 2-Door Coach Standard with a V8 engine, automatic transmission, heat and power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats and power door locks. It also has an overhead concole with a built-in stereo. The owner says it is a good driver. As evidence he relates that he has had it on 1,000 miles trips with no issues. From the photos, you can tell that it was a nicely done build with the right look and stance. The interior looks clean. It would be appropriate to have it inspected prior to purchase just to find out how it drives down the road and get a detailed condition class valuation. He has a local appraisal that values it at $35,000. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week since the asking price is only $26,500.
A Wisconsin seller has a 2005 Porsche Boxster for sale this week. She has it stored and only drives it on sunny summer days, the type of owner that babies her car. It currently shows 48k original miles. She looked for this car for a year before buying it as a one-owner from an Illinois dealership. It is Guards red with a black leather interior and a black soft top. Of course, it has air conditioning, ABS, AM/FM stereo CD, climate control, cruise control, fog lamps and heated mirrors. She says it also has a push button wind resistance spoiler in the rear and Navigation on a screen on the dash. It spends each winter in a heated warehouse with a battery tender. The finish is absolutely beautiful. If you are having trouble finding a Guards red Boxster, hear is your chance. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later in the week. The asking price is $18,000.
Braatens Auto Center in Rochester, Minnesota listed this 2004 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide for sale. They say it is a very clean touring bike with only 18k miles. It needs nothing for the new owner to ride and enjoy. The former owner had to give up riding due to his health. It was obviously his pride and joy. The cycle has decent upgraded GEL seat, good rubber, fresh service and tuneup. It comes with soft bags, two tone paint and documentation such as owner's manul, service manual, manufacturer or origin paperwork, tires wear checks, tune up records and inspection from this year. Braatens Auto Center is willing to answer all your questions or assist you in having it inspected. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week, if it lasts that long. They are asking only $8,999.
