Remember a gold clad Linda Vaughn on the deck of a 1972 Hurst/Olds Indy Pace Car hugging a giant Hurst shifter? That brief moment before the 56th Annual Indianapolis 500 race in 1972 has created a place in history for both Vaughn and the Hurst/Olds Indy Pace Car.
This week a rare 1972 Hurst/Olds Indy Pace Car edition has been posted for sale by Orlando Classic Cars of Orlando, Florida. The posting is so fresh that they have not yet published their description of this car.
We know that the dealer edition Pace Cars that year had a functional W-25 Ram Air hood, Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission with Hurst dual-gate shifter and pace car badging. The gold and white Hurst colors will make this Hurst/Olds Indy Pace Car stand out at any national event. It was powered by a 455 big block, detuned from previous years to meet new emissions standards and to use the new unleaded gas. Yet the engine still made 300 horsepower at 4700 rpm. It featured a Rally suspension, white lettered Goodyear G60X14 Polysteel tires and Super Stock III wheels. It was equipped with disc brakes up front.
Everything about this car is rare and unique in automotive history. But the Linda Vaughn connection is what makes this car so incredibly valuable. Tap this link to read the full story about the '72 Hurst/Olds Indy Pace Car in our ClassiCarNews blog today.

We hope you were able to catch some of our real time coverage of the Hilton Head Island Concours D'Elegance last weekend. Fun in the South Carolina sun. Show goers swarmed the fairways near the clubhouse at the Port Royal Golf Club, an elegant setting for concours level vehicles. It was by invitation only, and the cars were as rare as they were perfect. You see cars at this show that you may never see anywhere else in the world. If you haven't yet read our story from the HHI Concours you can review it online with hundreds of photos and video of the event. Click here to read our review of the 2019 Hilton Head Concours.
It is almost time for the 46th Annual Daytona Turkey Run, the annual Thanksgiving Weekend Car Show and Swap Meet at the Daytona Speedway, November 28 thru December 1, 2019. This is the largest combination Car Show and Swap Meet in the United States. We can't wait to meet Rick and Kelly Dale from the American Restoration TV series on History Channel. They will be doing an autograph session on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30th, from 10 AM to 2 PM on the show grounds. The Daytona Turkey Run is one of our favorite events to attend. This year they expect more than 6,000 vintage, classic and custom, muscle cars, race cars and trucks on display and for sale. There are always some great bargains available to buy in the Car Corral. More than 150,000 people attended last year. Click here to go to the Daytona Turkey Run website.
A collector from Boxford, Massachusetts told us he SOLD his 1955 Chevrolet Delray thru a Cars-On-Line.com ad. Just a few weeks ago we featured a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 on our MyDreamCar.online blog site. At the time we compared it favorably to the legendary Ferrari Daytona. Now, this week, we noticed another 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is being offered for sale by Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria, New York. It is not often that we see cars such as these offered for sale to the public. It shows 45,000 miles and they believe it to be original because the car runs and sounds as it should. These are great driving Grand Touring cars. The 340 horsepower V12 is an impressive power plant. Recent service showed the engine to be very strong. It is one of just 500 produced in 1971 and 1972, the only two years it was offered. The ownership history is documented by Marcel Massini, the Ferrari historian.
In 1965, Dodge built about 100 A990 Hemi factory lightweight Coronets to compete in NHRA racing. In response to stricter rules on factory fabrication, Chrysler came out with the thinner sheet metal, aluminum heads and magnesium intake. Although the serial numbers all started with WO51, the 1965 Super Stock Coronets were referred to as A990 cars. They had a race prepped 426 Hemi engine. This 1965 Dodge Coronet A990 Hemi car is one of them, says Nickey Performance in St Charles, Illinois. It is one of the legendary early Mopar world beaters. The real deal. They say it has only 1,700 miles (measured mostly in quarter mile bursts.) This one is in the Chrysler Registry, ready for a museum or the race track. They say it runs beautifully.
The Raleigh Classic Auction for 2019 will be held December 6-7, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is one of those events all the good ole boys from the Southeast know about. For some years now, Chris Lieth has sponsored this unique classic car auction drawing some really nice low-mile collector cars. It is the auction all the classic car dealers just can't miss. Even if you won't be there in person, you can register now to place your bids by phone or online.
A big selection of Corvettes has already in the auction inventory for the Raleigh Classic this year. A 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is powered by a 427/435 hp big block engine matched to a M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission. This rare L71 Corvette has received numerous awards including Bloomington Gold Certified and NCRS Top Flight. It is documented with a window sticker, protect-o plate and ownership history.
Wait till you see the long list of classic 1950's collector cars in the Raleigh Classic inventory. Here is a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible which has been under the same ownership for the past 27 years. You've never seen this one for sale on the internet. It is equipped with the ultra-rare factory installed 3-speed manual transmission. Additional options and features include power steering, power brakes, Wonderbar radio and factory spinner wheel covers.
American muscle cars are always a big draw for the Raleigh Classic. This year will be no exception. This 1966 Dodge Hemi Charger is one of only 468 produced that year. You'll find it listed in the Chrysler Registry. Remember, 1966 was the first year for the Dodge Charger. It was also the first year for the 426 Street Hemi. It is equipped with the high performance 426 ci Hemi, power steering and 4-speed manual.
A number of choice classic woody wagons will be available to bid on in the Raleigh Classic this winter. This one is a 1948 Mercury Woody Wagon which was acquired from the well-known Nick Alexander collection. It has been a recipient of the Rouge Award. The car is a rare one. And this is only one of the many wood-bodied classics you'll find in the auction inventory.

One of the most popular classic cars for sale on the Cars-On-Line.com website has been this 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible from the Chicago area. The seller recently discovered that he could add a You Tube video to his ad. So this week we embedded the video right into his ad page. (No extra charge.) Now, in addition to his Slide Show ad with 26 detailed photos, the Chicago collector has a full video presentation on his car. It was done for him by Lou Costabile, a videographer who specializes in classic car videos. The combination of a Slide Show ad accompanied by a video where you can hear the car run is the most powerful ad you can have on the internet today. Click here to see how the ad page looks.
Have you seen our CarsOnLine.tv Classic Car Video marketplace? To feature your car on CarsOnLine.tv, just add a video to your Cars-On-Line.com ad. Here is a real time capsule. Can you believe that this 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega still has just 91 actual miles on it? It is being offered for sale today by Orlando Classic Cars in Orlando, Florida. They note that this is a new arrival. And it's virtually like a brand new car yet. The Cosworth Vega was only produced by Chevrolet for two years and only 1,447 were ever built. This one must be the lowest mile example out there.

A very desirable 1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III Convertible has been listed by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California. They tell us it will need a convertible top and could use a light restoration. It comes equipped with an automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, OEM radio, and solid wheels with whitewall tires. If you have the ability to bring it back to like new, this could be a money maker with an asking price of $16,750.

A 1950 Plymouth 2-Door Sedan was originally isted for $35,000. It has a built Hemi engine with an automatic transmission and Fat Man front end. With disc brakes, power steering, tilt wheel and air conditioning ... I think you'll agree that this is a lotta' car for the money. Yet, just this week, the Huntington Beach, California owner reduced his price to $28,500.

A real sharp 1971 Yenko Deuce Nova tribute was listed by Streetside Classics at their Phoenix location. The Tuxedo black version is said to be quite accurate and loaded with performance. Showing off its big block power, it has an upgraded 5-speed but with the comfort of an air conditioned interior. The big block 396 ci V8 with a bright air filter topper and valve covers, and go fast goodies like the Holley double pumper four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and aluminum heads. Add an electric fuel pump, aluminum radiator and dual electric fans to keep it cool. Then there is the dual exhaust. This is a head turner.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
A year ago I would never have believed that we would see a big block 427 Corvette in the DEAL of the DAY feature here in the Cars-On-Line.com newsletter. But as the Baby Boom generation begins to get too old for their cars, collector car prices are trending downward. Deals such as this 1969 Corvette 427 Coupe with T-tops are beginning to show up here in the DEAL of the DAY. This is one that you might have to move fast on, though. If you don't have the phone in your hand, you may miss out. Streetside Classics in Ft Worth, Texas is offering this 4-speed yellow Corvette. They indicate that it drives as good as it looks. It will be our featured DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The price is only $27,995.
By no means is this 1960 AMC Rambler American Super Wagon a show car. In fact, the private seller from Lawton, Oklahoma is up front about how the bumpers have some dents. This would be a good one to have inspected before you buy so you get a good report on the body and performance. However, the seller says it is a good driver with a strong engine and all the gauges work. He says it will do 70 mph on the freeway with no problem. He says the body is "pretty solid" with all chrome and trim in nice shape. That is a plus. He indicates that you could drive it the way it is, or make it an interesting project. These classic station wagons are getting hard to find. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is only $16,500.
Here is another hot offering from Streetside Classics. This 1953 MG TD Roadster is at their Atlanta location. They indicate that you could drive it and show it. They say it is that nice. It comes with the 1250 cc inline 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual tranmission. It is a gentleman's sports car, the epitome of what a two-seater British sports car should be, complete with maintenance records to document the diligent care it's received. If you have it inspected, Streetside says you'll find that it is free of dings and blemishes. That is amazing considering this car is 65 years old. They say it is turn key ready to drive. Just look at the photos if you want to veify the condition. It is one of the most prized classic British sports cars. Yet, this one is affordable. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because they are asking just $17,995.
If you're looking for a great classic pickup truck, a New Jersey owner says this one will not disappoint. It is a 1970 Chevy C10 Shortbed, an original Kentucky truck, and he says it comes with a 350 crate motor, TH350 transmission and factory air conditioning. Upgrades include power front disc brakes, '72 short bed frame, lowered 1.5 inches matching aluminum American Racing rims with 275 x60/R15 tires. He says the air conditioning needs fixing. Truck has all new bushings and bearings, front end, brakes, turbo mufflers, oak wood bed with stainlesss hardware and stainless tailgate. He says the paint is older with some chips and scratches. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week because his asking price is just $16,900. I think you'll agree this is a lotta' truck for the money.
This 1959 Volkswagen Beetle is what they call a "ragtop" because it has a convas sunroof-type opening. It is being offered for sale this week by Playtoys, a classic car dealer from Redlands, California. This one is equipped with a a 1600cc rebuilt engine, 4-Speed manual transmission, dual carburetor, drum brakes, and bucket seats. In comes with a new vinyl interior, new carpet, 15" wheels and the main electricals rewired. It also has new chrome and new paint. Both the interior and exterior have been partially restored with a a front bumper, the deck lid and a bin of miscellaneous parts. This one would make a perfect restoration project because so much has already been done. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this week as Playtoys has it offered for just $13,995.
It wasn't that long ago that Chevrolet came out with the retro Camaro, an event that delighted Camaro lovers worldwide. Every new car design has its day, and then inevitably they begin to age. It surprises us that the 2012 Camaro 2SS (combination RS and SS models) can now be purchased at such an affordable price. This one comes in the popular Inferno Orange Metallic exterior color and was just posted for sale by Masterpiece Vintage Cars in Whiteland, Indiana. It has the 6.2L V8, a 6-speed automatic transmission and they say it only has 74k actual miles. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week because Masterpiece is only asking $15,900 for this one.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
