Did you ever wanna' be a member of Mr Norm's Sport Club? There was a time when that would have put you in select company. "Horsepower" was the epitaph of those by-gone days. But even now today a Mr Norm's Mopar is of legendary significance in the collector car market.
One of the best Mr Norm's cars we've ever seen was just listed for sale here this week on the Cars-On-Line.com website. It's a rare one. The 1969 1/2 Dodge A12 Super Bee you see pictured here was sold new at Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago. Mr Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge was the fulcrom of the Mopar muscle car world back in the day. At the race track on Sunday you would be watching Mr Norm's Max Wedge Dodge drag cars, and by Monday morning you'd be in his shop having your new Mopar dyno tuned for the coming weekend. Mr Norm's muscle cars were fast.
Here is an opportunity to relive that lifestyle. This 1969 1/2 Dodge A12 Super Bee was one of 1,487 hardtops to be built that year with the 440 Six Pack. It was the first year that Chrysler put the Six Pack option in a 440 Magnum big block car. It came with all kinds of heavy duty performance parts to make that big block package work. And this one even has the rare 4-speed A-833 manual transmission. The private seller from Scottsdale, Arizona tells us it is the numbers matching 4-speed that came with this car. That's rare.
These were purpose built drag racing cars. Anyone who has ever seen them run at the track will attest to the fact that they can do an incredible burn out coming up to the line. The torque came from a Super Track Pack option and 4.10 geared Dana 60 Sure Grip rear end. The Arizona A12 comes documented with its original broadcast sheet, original fender tag, original radiator support and trunk lip VIN stampings. The seller says it still has its original body panels. Although the original 440 Six Pack is long gone, it comes with a date coded correct engine, correct H Code wheel and red streak tires.
Just sitting inside this incredible Mopar brings those glory days back to life. Don't miss our report on the MyDreamCar.online blog site as we review a history of Mr Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge and Chrysler's decision in mid-year 1969 to produce a factory race car. You'll get more of the production numbers and a flavor of what it was like to be a Mr Norm Sport Club member. Then write your own history in the comments section. Tell us about your Mr Norm moments. We love to here your stories.

Linked above are the New Listings and Price Changes pages. These pages are updated in real time to include every addition to the Cars On Line.com Collector Car Market.
We've been talking about the aging of the Baby Boom generation for years. The predictions of how that will affect the collector car market have been well documented. But up until now collector car values have only been slowly trending downward. Recently it seems that some of the dealers down south are experiencing a glut of cars coming on the market. That is going to drive prices down even further. Some of the prices you'll see this week are surprising.
Here is a 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Retractable that was just listed this week by a private seller from Tekama, Nebraska. He says it is in excellent condition with only 77k miles. According to his description, the body, paint and interior are like new. And it even came with air conditioning from the factory. He says he wants to sell it now. His price is only $25,500. (As always, we suggest you have it inspected before you buy.) Seems like a lotta' car for the money.
For those of us with a few good years left in us, it looks as though we will get a chance to buy cars at extremely discounted prices if this trend continues. Find more deals like this in the DEAL of the DAY section of this newsletter. Have fun!
We've been talking about the RM Auburn Spring Auction later this month in recent newsletters. But did you know that the Auburn Auction Park will be hosting two events again this year? That's right, the AACA Grand National Meet will be held at the Auburn Auction Park that weekend also, May 30-June 1. This year they will be joined by the Rolls-Royce Owners Club (RROC) for their first dual meet. What an event this will be. Just another reason to mark your calendar for the RM Auburn Spring Auction 2019, May 29-June 1. Take in the auction and both of these national events while you are there. It all happens in Auburn, Indiana, home to the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum.
A hot rodder from Brunswick, Georgia SOLD his 1929 Ford Model A Roadster this week. We always appreciate it when a seller tells us about his sale. "Love your service," Robert told us. "Have sold three vehicles over the years through Cars-On-Line." We were especially happy to here it was sold since the seller told us this was a car that was started years ago by Lil John Buttera, a legendary figure in the hot rodding hobby. We used to see him at the Back to the '50s Show in Minnesota. Thanks for telling us about your sale.
Robert knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... But you can sell on Cars-On-Line.com." Follow this link to the SOLD section below where you will see all of the private sellers who SOLD their cars through COL this week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

The most replicated of all great classic cars is the Shelby 427 Cobra. But today Legendary Motorcar Company is offering an actual real deal 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra, not a replica. Do you know that Shelby actually only made 160 street Cobras equipped with the Ford 427 engine? It was one of the early production cars for 1966 born in May of 1965. It was Guardsman blue with a black interior as you see it today. It's fifth owner was Tom Kirkham, builder of the famous Kirkham Cobra reproductions. This 427 Cobra was one of the original cars that he used to design his Cobra replicas. In 2012, Legendary Motorcar Company began a restoration to original spec, and the result is what you see here now. Their craftsman are especially skilled in Cobra restorations. This is a spectacular example.
If you are a fan of the irreverent custom car TV series called "Bitchin' Rides", you know all about the work of Dave Kindig and his company, Kindigit Design. Remember the 1962 VW Samba Bus he built in the first season? This week it was listed for sale by The Garage in Miami, Florida. Check out the photos of the one-off Limo style interior with L-shape seating, ash hardwood flooring and JL audo system. Power comes from an updated Samba 2,180 cc flat 4 cylinder engine fed by dual 44 Webers producing 120 horsepower. Notice the shaved front and rear bumpers. They added Porsche Fuchs 17 inch wheels front and 18 's in the back. The suspension is all upgraded with drop axle by Bus Boys, and a Type 1 rear suspension conversion using a Super Street transaxle. Follow this link to see a video where Dave Kindig tells you all about his custom Samba bus.
Southern Motors in Clarkston, Michigan tells us this is one of the nicest 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible classics they have ever owned. See the video here. You'll see the Pony interior, the beautiful chrom and stainless. Whoever did the restoration really knew what they were doing. Have you ever seen a car this straight? Watch out for the rain, but you'll love the test drive and walk-around on this one. Click the video window above to see the whole show.

This desirable 427/435 L89 Corvette was originally listed for $189,900. But just this week the seller is getting very serious about moving it. He has dropped the price by $70,000 to $119,000.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Hope you have the phone in your hand, because this one is gonna' sell quick. A private seller from Marshfield, Wisconsin is offering his 1968 AMC AMX, which was restored as a tribute to the American Motors Trans Am Racing team back in the day. It has a built 360 ci stroked to 395 ci with 401 forged crank, 9:1 compression, 6" rods, ported heads and 670 cfm 2-barrel Holley Fuelie with electronic ignition. Oh, yeah, and it runs on pump gas. It was all built by a retired engineer and race engine builder. Needless to say it is very fast. The seller says it has less than 500 miles on the engine. Now here is the best part. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is just $16,600. Hurry!
This one is more in the project car category, but you don't often see a 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II in our DEAL of the DAY offerings. This one comes from Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California, a well known classic car broker. They say it has factory air and a black finish with a black interior. The undercarriage is only driver quality and it does have a custom vinyl top and continental kit cover that is unusual. But look at the photos of the interior. It has an automatic transmission, power windows, power steering and whitewall tires. The photos show a car that is very clean and presentable. Don't forget to have it inspected before you buy. But the price is so low. We've never seen a driver quality '56 Lincoln in this price range before. They are only asking $26,500.
We just can't believe this offering from a private seller in Marcellus, New York. He is offering his award winning 1929 Ford Highboy Hot Rod Roadster for an unbelievable price. This may be our sleeper sale of the week. It has a real steel body and frame, "virtually rust free" he says. It went through a nut and bolt frame-off restoration to get to this point. He notes that it took a First Place at the GSTA Road and Custom show in St. Paul, Minnesota. It has a Spies Hecker base coat/clear coat, and the undercarriage is as detailed as the top. It comes with a removable hardtop that easily comes off in minutes, and seals properly with the windows and the body. Read through the ad copy. There is so much more to this build. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The owner is only asking $18,500.
A private seller in Vacaville, California has this 1954 Mercury Monterey 2-Door Hardtop for sale today which he says is in excellent condition. It comes with all factory options such as power windows and power seats. He describes it as being unrestored original except for the paint. But the repaint was "Miracle Auto Paint" in the original color of Bitter Sweet. The seller has owned the car for almost 30 years, purchased from the original owners. There is a list of service work in the ad, the seller saying it was all done in the last 1,000 miles, and the transmission was also rebuilt. He says everything works well on this car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $18,399.
With off-roading being so popular today, we were surprised to see this "Hot Price Special Offer" out of Eric's Muscle Cars in Maryland today. He listed this 2009 Jeep Wrangler for a client who is motivated to sell now. The sharp looking Wrangler has high miles, which is why the price is so right. It has the 3.8L V6 engine with no power but it does have tilt steering wheel. The seller says the air blows cold. You may not find a better price on a very popular 4-wheel-drive vehicle with this kind of off-road reputation. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week if it lasts that long. Hurry on this one. The price is just $12,900.
Our COL newsletter readers know that Classic Microcars is a sub-culture of the classic car hobby which has a lot of fascination for collectors. Yesterday we noticed that We Be Autos, a classic car broker, had listed a 1949 Crosley Woodie Wagon for one of its clients out of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. What a find. This one was previously owned by the President of the Crosley Car Club in Florida. We Be Autos tells us it is an AACA National Senior Award Winner. No wonder! The classic microcar is a product of a "fantastic nut and bolt restoration," according to the ad copy. You have to see the photos on this one. The engine compartment is so clean. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week because the asking price is only $11,995.
Another spectacular offering from Beverly Hills Car Club this week is this 1956 Cadillac 60 Fleetwood. That's right. Not just a DeVille, but a Series 60 Fleetwood with the longer body and special chrome detail. Back in the day we considered these as limousines. This one comes with a grey finish and grey interior. It is equipped with an automatic transmission and a big V8 engine, plus power windows, power steering, OEM radio, solid wheels with whitewall tires and includes the spare tire and jack. BHCC tells us it had the same owner for may years. They use the term "mechanically sound" to describe the condition. You should have it inspected to get a full report before buying. But hurry. They are only asking $15,750 for this true Aemrican classic.
