Famous Corvette custom builder Rod Saboury has built some fast Corvettes over the years. But when he wanted a personal car built for himself and his wife Tina, he called on Legacy Innovations to help him build the street racer of his dreams. It was at the SEMA Convention in 2012 that the world first got a look at this custom Corvette he called the Black Widow. That began a two-year show car circuit journey that brought him a lot of satisfaction with major awards for the taking. The Black Widow went on to be named Best Pro Street at the 2013 East Coast Indoor Nationals. Many of you remember it from the Goodguys shows in 2014. Later, the car was sold at a Mecum Auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Still in top show condition, it is our featured car here on the Cars-On-Line.com website this week. The current owner from Lewes, Delaware says it is still winning awards with several 2018 trophies cited in the ad copy (click here to read his ad online and get his contact information.) Whether you call it a resto mod or a pro street, it was designed to be very streetable. Saboury always said it would be an 8-second car if he were to take it to the track. That's because it is powered by a Chevrolet Performance Corvette ZR1 6.1L motor supercharged and producing 638 horsepower. Much custom fabrication helped provide the torquey power including an LS9 dry-sump oil tank and system, fabricated front spoiler to add extra cooling for the supercharger, fabricated stainless steel headers and sidepipes and custom integrated ceramic coated mufflers. And the carbon-fiber air intake system is all hand fabricated as well. Power transfers via a Tranzilla T-56 six-speed transmission with McLoed hydraulic dual disk clutch. Billet Specialties rims with fabricated Corvette knock-off spinners give style to the meaty Mickey Thompson Sportman radials with handmade Redline sidewalls.
Special touches such as a reverse-opening carbon-fiber hood that integrates an OEM C6 ZR1 supercharger window, or a mini-tubbed rear floor, smooth firewall and hidden wiper motor all add to the show car appeal. Nicely done. It is the kind of car you could spend a great deal of time just looking at all the fine detail. It is a lot to take in. In fact, this is a lotta' car. The custom touches are endless in detail. Yet the Black Widow Corvette is tastefully done and keeps much of the original ’63 look and feel.
Today there is a really interesting history on this car in the ClassiCarNews blog. Click here to read the blog and be sure to add your opinions in the Comments Section below the article. We are working on getting a video posted on the blog page. Stay tuned.

Linked above are the New Listings and Price Changes pages. These pages are updated in real time to include every addition to the Cars On Line.com Collector Car Market.
This year's Amelia Island Concours was the most successful event in their history. Literally the spectators were packed in shoulder to shoulder on the showfield on Sunday. This past weekend saw the biggest turnout in the show's history, and the nice weather had a great deal to do with that. As always, the selection of vintage motorcars was exceptional. If you were not able to follow our coverage in real time, you can still see all of our photo galleries and auction coverage here at our blog. A 1957 Ferrari 335 S (red car in photo) owned by Cavalino Investments, of Cortland, Ohio won the coveted Best of Show Concours De Sport trophy while a 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Touring from the Keller Collection of Petaluma, California won the Concours D'Elegance award. These are two of the most coveted awards in the collector car hobby. The results from the three major collector car auctions are noted in the story also.
One of the coolest moments at this year's Detroit Autorama was the presentation of the Detroit Autorama Preservation Award which this year went to Carl Casper, the Hall of Fame Custom Builder who built the Keaton Batmobile. He got the award for his 1951 Chevy Custom he calls the Empress. It has won the most awards of any car in the custom car world. It won the Best of Show award here at Cobo Hall in 1961 (that's before they called it the Ridler Award.)
We were thrilled to have a chance to interview Carl as he introduced us to the Empress, and told us how he came to build it. Follow this link to read our story and see the video interview. Our "time capsule" interview captures a piece of automotive history you will truly cherish.
First we noticed that a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda was SOLD after just a couple of weeks in our Mopar Section. That was a private seller from Minnesota. Then we noticed that Legendary Motorcar Company SOLD a 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 6 Pack car from their classic car dealership. Another fresh listing, also a 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 6 Pack car, SOLD at Flemings Ultimate Garage. Somebody is buying up all the big block Mopars!! Is this a harbinger of things to come?
Now they know why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... But you can sell on Cars-On-Line.com." Follow this link to the SOLD section below where you will see all of the private sellers who SOLD their cars through COL this week. Do you want to see what a No. 1 Condition show car looks like? Here is a 1961 Pontiac Catalina Model 425A being offered for sale at Frank's Car Barn in Houston, Texas this week. It scored 397 points out of 400 at the Pontiac-Oakland Club Nationals in 2017. The Model 425A is powered by its 389 with 3 dueces factory rated at 348 horsepower. It is matched up to the correct 4-speed transmission and 390 Safe-T-Track real axle. It was restored by the reknowned Thorpe Body & Corvette Shop in O'Fallon, Illinois. Tim Thorpe and his crew spent 1,164 hours in order to make it the best Catalina in existence. You will get a good look at it in this walk-around video produced by the Frank's Car Barn staff. You should hear it run. According to Pontiac Historical Society documents it is a one-of-one Catalina produced in Richmond gray with a tri-color maroon interior. You are looking at an historically significant muscle car.
We'd like to invite our readers to say hello to a new specialty car dealer located in New Hyde Park, New York. Imperial Motorcars has just joined the Cars-On-Line.com Dealer Network. You will be seeing their cars in our New Listings this week.
Their specialty car inventory is diverse and interesting. It includes such unique offerings as this 2019 Bullitt Mustang, Ford's newest tribute to the Steve McQueen movie "Bullitt." This is an amazing car.
Their lead spokesman, Cesar Romero, told us, "Imperial Motorcars is a family owned dealership that specializes in classic and exotic cars. We understand the level of care that is expected and the important needs potential buyers have in purchasing a collectible vehicle. We strive to meet and exceed our customers expectations and provide a seamless buying experience from purchasing to assisting with transportation of your vehicle anywhere in the world."
Take a look at their select inventory currently listed on the Cars-On-Line.com website.
With only 22 miles on a concours restoration, this rare 1957 GMC 100 NAPCO 4x4 is a popular find for collectors. It is being offered by Classic Cars of Sarasota this week. They tell us the full frame-off restoration was completed in December 2017. It was restored to original with minor upgrades for driving comfort, including Vintage Air. It also has a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and Autometer gauges. It comes with its "all factory original" drivetrain with a rebuilt V8 engine and 4-speed manual tranmission. Of course, it still has its NAPCO 4X4 drive gear. Mechanical and suspension components have been completely refurbished. Classic Cars of Sarasota tells us that the paint and chrome are of show quality. You will want to review all the photos of the undercarriage on this one. It is so nice you could eat off it. NAPCO was a company that provided 4-wheel-drive kits to be used on GMC and Chevrolet model pickup trucks. After 1950, you could order the NAPCO kit to be installed at GM dealerships. Still these trucks are very rare and very highly valued by NAPCO collectors.
Built for NASCAR Hall of Fame champion Rusty Wallace, this 1933 Ford 3-Window Coupe is being offered for sale at an extremely attractive price point. Just a few years ago Rusty Wallace sold it for $135,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction. You can buy it now for nearly half that price. It still features a 351 Ford SVO built by Robert Yates. It was picked as a Top 100 by Street Rodder magazine. The PPG Black Cherry paint was a special blend just for this car. When Wallace saw Billy Gilbert's famous ZZ Top 3-Window Coue from the music video, he wanted to buy it from Gilbert. But Gilbert wasn't selling. So Rusty had one built to suit his style. This week, the current seller added an interesting video to his ad. It beautifully highlights the undercarriage on this coupe. You will see it featured on the CarsOnLine.tv site in video this week.

Here is a 1987 Buick Grand National from Imperial Motorcars in New Hyde Park, New York. It has a great story. It was previously owned by a Buick dealership in the midwest and it spent most of its days in the showroom on display until about 2008. Because of its pampered early years, it still has just 4,231 original miles from new. The car comes with T-tops and its original paperwork. If you are looking for a pristine original car that is virtually still in the wrapper, here it is.

When an Austin, Texas advertiser lowered his price on his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon this week it opened the doors of opportunity for our readers. It was the subject of a frame-off retoration. The car came with factory air conditioning, a 283 engine, real Chevrolet wire wheels and a working Wonderbar radio. The seller says it has very nice paint and brite work. He was originally asking $69,999 for this very solid classic station wagon. Wagons are hot in this market. But he just reduced the price to $49,999.

A 1967 Mustang Fastback has been restored to look like the Bullitt Mustang from the 1968 Hollywood movie with Steve McQueen. It was a ground up restoration. The resulting Mustang is said to have a laser straight body with only 500 miles on the restoration. They say the Highland Green paint is phenomenal. It has new crhome and nice trim. The donor car was an actual S Code GT fastback which has been treated to a new interior and a fresh 302 HiPo crate motor, 4-speed transmission and Hurst shifter.

Here is the DEAL of the DAY preview which gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature of the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
It's not often that we have the opportunity to show you a pro street car here in the DEAL of the DAY. But here is a 1969 Camaro Z/28 Pro Street which has been listed for sale by Frank's Car Barn out of Houston, Texas. They say it is a real Z/28 X33 code car with a built 454 big block motor now putting out 570 horsepower. It was professionally built by USA Racing. The motor uses JE pistions, JE pins, speed pro moly rings, Eagle H-Beam rods, Eagle 4" crank, Edelbrock billet aluminum timing cover, Competition Plus hydraulic roller cam, Crane Pro Mag roller lifters and Crane true roller chain and timing gear set. There is so many high performance parts upgrades you just have to read the add to get them all. The best way to get a feel for this car is to watch the walk-around video here. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Believe it or not you can buy it now for just $29,500.
I don't think we've ever had a 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II offered for sale here in the DEAL of the DAY feature. You don't expect to find such a highly desirable collector car for sale at a deeply discounted price. This one even has factory air conditioning. The seller is Beverly Hills Car Club out of Los Angeles, California. Their clientele often has cars that have just come out of storange and are being offered at a reduced price. It comes equipped with automatic transmission, power windows and the continental kit. They tell us that it is an excellent original car which is mechanically sound. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday because they are only asking $19,950. Try to find another at that price point.
This 1928 Ford Phaeton touring car really looks good in the photos. The private party seller from Stuart, Florida does not offer much history on the car in the description. You will have to pick up your phone and call for more information. He says it is a Ford with number 587 as a serial number built in November of 1927. He says it runs well and has the Model B engine. The B engine was a 200.5 four cylinder motor rated at 50 horsepower. Because they did a better job lubbing the main bearing they were regarded as being more dependable. He indicates that the body is in great shape and that all the equipment works. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is $16,500.
A 1935 Ford Sedan Deluxe is being offered for sale by We Be Autos, a broker from New York, who says this old car runs and drives "fantastic." They say it has been with the current owner since 1993, and is a very original sedan. You will not find many in this kind of condition these days. It only has 115,721 miles, and the original Flathead V8 was rebuilt in 1990, the owner says. It has a 3-speed manual transmission, factory heater, new coil, a 6-volt system and new tires. The seller says he will include "tons of parts" with the sale. Be sure to view the interesting walk-around video with comments from the owner. You can even here it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $15,995.
A red Corvette gets all the looks wherever it goes. That's just a fact of life. So here is a red 1972 Corvette Coupe, and you just have to look. This one, from Sun City, California, is said to have been well kept by its current and third owner. They say it is numbers matching with a 350 Chevrolet small block engine and automatic transmission. According to the description, it has an original interior, and everything works. It has had one repaint in 2009 and remains in very nice condition with new disc brakes all around two years ago. It shows 64k miles which are believed to be original. It is described as an excellent driver which will go anywhere anytime. It is so affordably priced at $17,995 that we will make it our DEAL of the DAY later next week.
Here is a 1954 Chevy Custom Station Wagon with some history behind it. The hot rod wagon is a bit of a restoration project. The private seller from Morristown, Arizona says it has some rust areas on the bottom rear quarter panels and driver side front floor pan. Replacement panels from National Chevy Association come with the car. Currently it is his daily driver. It comes with a new 383 SBC engine, new Monster 700R Level 2, new Vintage Air, new exhaust system w/Flow Masters, tires and much more. The engine was built by Five Star in Glendale, AZ and has approximately6,500 miles on it. The 700R has 1700 miles on the transmission. Built by Monster Transmission in Brooksville, FL. This is a lotta' station wagon for the price. He is asking $12,500.
Sometimes you just have to take a little less than market to sell. That's what a hot rodder from San Antonio, Texas is doing this week. He is offering his 1970 Chevy CST-10 Custom ride for sale in a package deal. It is a Short Wheel Base half-ton with a 402 big block motor and a 4-speed. The price includes his 2004 For F250 4X4 Diesel Crew Cab King Ranch Pickup plus an 18-foot trailer to tow the '70 Chevy with. Now this is getting interesting. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because he's only askiing $29,500 for all three. (The Chevy C10 alone might be worth that.) He says it is all turnkey and ready to go. Be sure to have them inspected before you buy, but hurry. This is the type of deal you've been looking for.

It looks as though Mopars are hot again.
Here are some of the comments from happy sellers who were nice enough to tell us about their experience advertising on the Cars On Line website.
Mark from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania said, "Excellent service," after marking his 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge SOLD using our popular Run Till Sold ad.
