In the post-war 1950's, Buick Motor Company was one of the top three automobile manufacturers, behind Chevrolet and Ford. Their top-of-the-line model, the Roadmaster, is still revered today as the leading luxury car of its time. Even Cadillac could not surpass the Roadmaster's leadership in design and quality. From 1955 through 1957, the Roadmaster was the car that wealthy American's aspired to own.
This week, a 1955 Buick Roadmaster Convertible was listed for sale by Streetside Classics out of their showroom in Ft Worth, Texas. Buick produced 4,739 Roadmaster convertibles in 1955, but few remain today. It is rare to see them being offered for sale to the public. Most that remain are in private collections. Streetside says this one is "Sharp, beautiful, loaded, and absolutely elegant ..." They say a lot of effort was taken in the restoration, and the result is an "elegant presentation of red, white, and chrome."
In those years, the Buick designers were in their heyday. So the Roadmaster had one of the best front end designs of the era, with the Dagmar chrome bumpers complementing the grille and chrome. It has the rare power window option, power steering, red leather with power split-bench seat, and the white convertible power top which is fully operational.
Streetside's 1955 Buick Roadmaster Convertible comes with the dependable 322 ci Buick motor and the super smooth Dynaflow automatic transmission. The beautiful droptop is shod with gorgeous L78-15 Coker wide-white bias-ply tires with shiny wire wheels.
Offered with a stack of restoration and maintenance receipts, plus the owner's manual, Streetside says this beautiful 1955 Buick Roadmaster Convertible will impress you. It is being offered at a very affordable price, almost half of what the average value on a No. 2 condition version would be. Have it inspected to determine its condition class.

It's on! The Raleigh Classic Auction 2019 is underway in Raleigh, North Carolina and we are in the thick of it. Cars-On-Line.com is covering the auction for our newsletter readers this weekend. Join us on Saturday for our Live Auction reports from the North Carolina State Fairgrounds as some of the nicest low mile collector cars in the world will be sold. You can follow all the action on Cars-On-Line's ClassiCarNews website. Click through now to get the updates from the show as they are reported by our car show team. You can also watch the auction on Facebook Live on Saturday. The 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible you see pictured here will be the star car of the show tomorrow. It is a rare one. Only 815 were ever produced. We estimate that Corvettes and Cadillacs make up about 20 percent of the auction inventory. There will also be a lot of woody wagons in this sale. Watch for our updates on Facebook and on our Twitter page all weekend. BUYER ALERT: They just announced that the first twenty cars to be sold tomorrow will have no buyer premium. So there will be no buyer's commission tacked on, the price you bid will be the price you pay. Starts at 9 AM on Saturday. Don't miss this. You can still sign up to bid. Watch with us on Saturday as the Raleigh Classic Auction is being streamed at this link on Facebook Live.
Wow! What a week we had. You won't believe the number of cars we SOLD this week. A private seller from Rutledge, Tennessee just listed his 1970 Plymouth Road Runner recently in our Mopar Section. This week he notified us it was already SOLD thru Cars-On-Line.com. "Got one phone call and SOLD the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner immediately!" William told us. We love it when our advertisers tell us about their sales. It makes our day. Now William knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... But you can sell on Cars-On-Line.com." Follow this link to the SOLD Section below where you will see all of the private sellers who SOLD their cars through COL this week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

Car buffs may remember the Discovery Channel reality TV series called "Wrecks to Riches" where Barry's Speed Shop built "The Exterminator," a 1957 Chevy Gasser which is "retro state of the art." This old school style build has been featured in many magazines, including the cover of the 50th Anniversary issue of Chevy Classics Magazine. The engine alone is an automotive work of art done by Jon Barrett Hot Rod Engines, a 427 ci. big block with Brodex heads. Hilborn EFI with Spectre Engine Management and Moroso oil pan. The transmission is a TH400 with B&M shifter. It has a Ford 9" rear end, Magnaflow exhaust, Baer disc brakes all around, QA-1 Performance shocks and a Jegs roll cage. The chassis is 1 3/4" chromoly by Barry's Speed Shop.
If you were to build a Shelby GT350 Fastback today, how would you do it? Here is how they see it at Southern Motors in Clarkston, Michigan. You'd take a built Hi Po 289 engine with with a Holley 750 XP 4-barrel, aluminum intake, Iron Eagle Dart angle plug heads, and custom ceramic headers. Then couple it to a Tremec 5-speed and Ford 9" rear. Add some interesting Shelby items and give it a pro touring suspension. Watch this video. This is one bad pony.

A nice clean looking 1964 Plymouth Fury Convertible has been listed for sale. One reason it looks so good may be that Classical Gas Motors says it has only 25k original miles. It's just broken in. Classical Gas is brokering the deal for the seller. They say it is powered by the same 318 ci V8 that was installed on the line in 1964, and is coupled to an automatic, smooth shifting transmission going to the original rear-end. Just like it came from the factory.

You may never have heard of a 1939 MGVA Tickford Cabriolet, but that just goes to show you how rare they are. The Quincy, Illinois private seller says it was stored for the last 40 years in a climate controlled basement. He says the body is super straight and rock solid. The interior restoration was begun but needs finishing. The sale includes the sidemount and all four wire wheels.

A muscle car collector in Lloyd Harbor, New Jersey listed his 1970 Plymouth Cuda for sale this week in our Mopar Section. It is the best of both worlds. It is an AAR Cuda tribute with a 426 Hemi engine with aluminum heads. Both quick and powerful! It is the ultimate combination. As prices continue to trend downward in the collector car market, more incredible deals turn up every week. The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
This is the sleeper muscle car deal of the week on the internet. A private owner in Upper Marlboro, Maryland is offering his 1965 Pontiac Catalina 2-Door Hardtop for sale at a very reasonable price. According to his ad copy, it is mostly refurbished. He says it is a fine car in good running condition. The big feature on this car is a fully refurbished 428 ci big block motor with a 4-barre carburetor and dual exhaust. As always, we recommend that you have it inspected to get a full five-page report on the car with dozens of photos of the detail. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is only $10,500
Here is a great starter car for a "wanna' be" hot rodder. This 1939 Cadillac LaSalle 4-Door Sedan is priced so right that it should show up on your radar. The private seller from Northford, Connecticut says it is a fun car to drive. He even suggests that you could drive it anywhere. Might be a good car for local cruises the way it sits right now. However, he also hints that the interior may need to be redone for it to get the respect it deserves. It is equipped with a small block Chevy, a 400R automatic transmissiion, power brakes, a 12-volt system and updated lights. He says the front end has been done. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy. But, again, hurry on this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday if it lasts that long. They are asking $18,000.
Cadillac collectors will tell you that 1941 is a very desirable year. '41 was the first year that the headlights were integrated into the front fender. That styling change really captured the imaginations of a whole generation of younger buyers. To this day it is revered by collectors. This 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan is being offered by a collector from Marietta, Ohio. The price is so attractive that we thought we should show it to you hear in the DEAL of the DAY. The seller says it has been meticulously maintained, stored in a climate controlled garage. He says the interior has been restored and it has undergone a full re-servicing. There is a slight blemish in the bodywork described in the ad. If you have us do an inspection report on this Cadillac you'll get a full set of detailed photos. The asking price on this one is $24,500.
History buffs will remember that automotive production in the U.S. was shut down in 1942 to convert automobile plants for military production when World War II began. That meant that Ford and other manufacturers did not make many 1942 models. This week a hot rodder from Rancho Cucamonga, California has listed a 1942 Ford Sedan Delivery for sale. It looks as if it was a 2-door sedan made into a sedan delivery style custom vehicle. He says it has a small block Chevy with a 700R4 overdrive transmission, with power steering, cold air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, shaved door handles and Mustang II front disc brakes. You'll like the Smoothie wheels and frenched headlights. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is only $27,000. Not bad for a unique street rod.
Beverly Hills Car Club is a clearing house for cars they find in garages all over Hollywood. Many are just out of storage. This week they are offering a 1957 Ford Thunderbird in Robins Egg blue with a blue and white interior. It has the auxiliary hardtop in addition to a convertible soft top. It comes equipped with an automatic transmission, a V8 engine, Holley carburetor, OEM radio, power windows, power steering, and wire wheels with white wall tires. There is a full set of detailed photos viewable on the ad page. Next week it will be the DEAL of the DAY feature car on the front page of Cars-On-Line.com if it lasts that long. The asking price is only $19,950.
A private collector from Kentucky is offering his 1949 Ford Club Coupe which looks great in the photos. He encourages that it drives well and he says he was told it had only 40k miles. It was restored over 20 years ago, so the paint is checking in spots. He calls it a "20-footer." However, on the plus side, he says it has a very solid undercarriage and floors. The outer rockers have some blisters. It comes with NOS rock moldings, rebuilt brakes, new gas tank and sending unit. It has been converted to a 12-volt system and he says that everything works. The ad copy tells us it has a nice interior and trunk. The chrome has some pitting and scratches. You have to admit it takes a nice picture. it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with since the asking price is only $14,950.
Although their Chevrolet cousin the Camaro has been highly valued for decades, just in recent years the Pontiac Firebird convertibles have been appreciating in value. This 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible from Elma, New York caught our attention this week because it comes with a 326 HO motor rated at 285 horsepower from the factory. It has an automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes, factory striping, factory sport wheels and bucket seats. The seller says it is a low mileage survivor car which has all of it's original sheet metal and solid original floors. It will be our DEAL of the DAY because it is price below average value at $23,900.
