You so seldom see a 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Pace Car Convertible for sale that you forget how they changed the muscle car landscape for Mercury that year. Super Stock magazine pronounced the Cyclone GT as “Performance Car of the Year” for 1966. With an FE big block 390 S Code V8 motor and plenty of horsepower, it was chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500 Championship Race.
This week, Orlando Classic Cars is offering a rare 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Pace Car Convertible for sale. In recent years we've only seen them come up for sale at the big national muscle car auctions such as Mecum and Barrett-Jackson. According to Dave Murray at Orlando Classic Cars, this is one of the original Indianapolis 500 festival cars produced for race day. Murray did a lot of research on the Mercury Cyclone GT Pace Car convertibles. He says this is one of the original Indianapolis 500 festival cars produced by Mercury to be used by celebrities and race personalities during the Indy 500 parade and festivities.
We have a full story on how to identify a real factory 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Pace Car Convertible from the many replicas that have been pieced together over the years. (That would technically be a replica of a replica.) Murray gives us a couple of tips on what to look for here in this MyDreamCar.online review.
The exciting Indy Pace Car parade car is offered for sale with its S Code 390 ci 4-barrel rated at 335 horsepower at 4800 rpm. This car is equipped with a C6 Merc-O-Matic heavy-duty automatic transmission. Standard equipment on this Pace Car edition includes a factory dash-mounted tachometer, dual exhaust, twin scoops on a fiberglass hood, GT emblems, GT stripes, power top, power brakes, power steering and a woodgrain steering wheel. Find out more in the story referenced above.

The automotive industry has lost one of its most important leaders, Lee Iacocca, former President of Ford Motor Company and CEO of Chrysler Corporation. We believe he was the second most important person in automotive history behind Henry Ford himself.
Lee Iacocca was considered the father of the Mustang while at Ford Motor Comany. Later, he re-invented Chrysler Corporation, guiding it through its transition from producing big American gas guzzlers to the modern Chrysler K-cars. Along the way he literally sold the U.S. government on a government sponsored bailout of Chrysler as a way of financing the transition. (The U.S. Treasury made money on the repayment of those loans through its sale of Chrysler stock.) While at Chrysler he guided the development of the American mini-van, the forerunner of the SUV. He also had the vision to buy American Motors. Today Chrysler's Jeep division is its most productive asset. Few have ever had such an impact on the automotive industry.
Iacocca passed away this week of natural causes on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the age of 94. He is survived by his two daughters and eight grandchildren. Here is an interesting link to a timeline of his career.
A Port St Lucie, Florida hot rodder was really pleased at how easy it was to sell his hot rod on Cars-On-Line.com. "Great...SOLD in 5 DAYS..Others wanted it also. Was really easy," Daniel told us in an email after seling his all-steel 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe using a 26 photo SLIDE SHOW ad.
Now Daniel knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... But you can sell on Cars-On-Line.com." Follow this link to the SOLD section below where you will see all of the private sellers who notified us that they SOLD their cars through COL this week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

A B5 blue 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda with Hemi Billboards is now being offered for sale out of a private collection. It is not often that a B5 blue Hemi Cuda with white billboards and a 4-speed surfaces for sale in the open public market. Most often these cars get traded between collections. There is no buildsheet on this one but it does have the V6W code on the fender tag. It comes with a Galen Govier full inspection. For a Mopar muscle car collector who wants something truly rare, this is a car worth your inspection. Only 108 Hemi Cuda hardtops were built in 1971. Of all the Hemi Cudas produced, the body style from 1971 is considered the most beautiful. It is an iconic look for car collectors.
When Biker Live, Season 1, Episode 3, aired on Discovery Channel this was the star of the show. It is called the 2018 Misfit No King 30 Element 13. Don't ask us why. It is now being offered for sale by Classic Car Liquidators in Sherman, Texas. They say it took well over $250,000 to build. It, of course, is a one-of-a-kind custom build. The frame was hand built and powder coated, and it has a one-of-a-kind HIX Design seat with weathered brass grommets. It has Misfit Premium Air Ride and front brakes. The motor is an S&S prototype 132 ci X-Wedge fed via the exclusive dual plenum throttle body injection. This show bike belongs in a museum.
This week's top video ad is on a classic 1955 Ford Sunliner from Coyote Classics in Greene, Iowa. This is an impressive award winner that was sold at the Barrett-Jackson Auction some years ago. Coyote Classics did a detailed walk-around video to show how meticulously this car was restored to factory spec. If you are a classic car collector, this is one video you have to see. It has a beautiful wood bed which you can see in the photos, and it comes with $20,000 in build receipts. They say it has a 355 ci GM ZZ4 with roller cam and new redonditioned 3-speed with Hurst shifter. Camaro sub and so much more. This one will impress you. That's why it will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week with a price tag of $23,900.
A private seller from Glasgow, Kentucky listed a 1988 Chevy K5 Blazer with Silverado package this week. These classic sport utility 4X4 vehicles are a hot trend in the collector car market right now. You don't often find them in great condition. The seller says this one is. It has the 5.7L 350 engine, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, tilt wheel, power windows, power door locks, a power rear window and it says it has just 98k original miles. It had new paint approximately 5 years ago. Looks good in the photos. Look for it in our DEAL of the DAY feature next Friday, if it lasts that long. The current asking price is $18,900.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
