One wonders whether there will ever be another American car builder like Carroll Shelby. With the "Ford v Ferrari" movie out now, American car collectors are reminded of how much we owe to Shelby's innovation and general knowledge of how to build and market performance cars. His Shelby Cobra lives in legend and his Mustang muscle cars command unprecedented values. But the only car he actually designed and built from the ground up was the 1999 Shelby Series 1. We think these beautiful Shelby exotic cars are undervalued today in the collector car market.
Fast Lane Classic Cars out of St Charles, Missouri recently posted this 1999 Shelby Series 1 Roadster for sale. They tell us it is just one of six Series 1 roadsters with factory black paint. And it is the only one ever ordered with the burgundy stripe. (For a look at dozens of detailed photos follow this link to the Fast Lane Classic Cars website.) What is truly amazing about this Shelby roadster is the low miles. Fast Lane tells us it has only 971 miles from the day it was new. Of course, many of you already know that it is one of only 249 Shelby Series 1's ever produced.
CSX Number CSX5165 was offered with a retractable soft top, air conditioning, 4-wheel disc brakes, power locks, power windows, power mirrors, AM/FM/Tape/CD stereo by Monsoon, and 18”/17” Shelby wheels w/ Goodyear Eagle F1 Radials. The exhaust system has dual Borla mufflers and tips.
For a complete history of the Shelby Series 1 click this link to go to our MyDreamCar.online website and review our Shelby Series 1 history. Then add your comments in the box below the article. We would love to hear your Shelby stories.

There was a record crowd today in the Jim Graham Building at the opening day of the winter edition of the Raleigh Classic, December 6-7, 2019. As you read this we will be watching as some top collector cars are selling across the auction block at the Graham Building in the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. One of the cars we have interest in is this Lynndale blue 1967 Corvette L71 427/435 Convertible with only 7,183 actual miles. It is among a collection of California cars which will be offered for sale here this weekend. As usual, the Cars-On-Line.com Car Show Team will be on hand to bring you all the action. Be sure to bookmark this page to follow the auction on Saturday. When you read the article, you will find the link to watch the auction with us in streaming video.
Maurice from Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada told us it only took a few days before two serious buyers where negotiating to buy his Ford coupe. "Two serious buyers within a few days. The 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe SOLD in a week!" Maurice used our popular $45.00 Run Till Sold ad. But the reason he sold his hot street rod so fast was because he gave Cars-On-Line.com several interesting video streams to add to his ad page. Video is magic when it comes to selling collector cars.
Now Maurice knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... But you can sell on Cars-On-Line.com." Follow this hyperlink to review the cars listed by private sellers who SOLD thru COL in just the past week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

Gullwing Motor Cars out of Astoria, New York put it well when they called this a "Derby Bentley." In fact, in their description they depict it as a "striking 3 1/2 Litre Park Ward Drophead Coupe ... as captivating as a fine piece of jewelry and shows like new." According to factory records provided by the Rolls-Royce Foundation, the Park Ward body, numbered A158, was originally finished just as it presents today in two shades of red with brown leather upholstery and a grey canvas top. It was the subject of a complete concours quality restoration in 1999. When completed in 2007, it won the Amerlia Award at the Amelia Island Concours. They say it would be an excellent show car to enter into concours D'Elegance venues today.
In this market, everyone is looking for a nice clean Chevelle. Here is one from Southern Motors in Clarkston, Michigan. These guys are one of the leading classic car dealers we know. This is a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 with only 800 miles on it since the complete frame-off restoration. They say it was originally a clean Georgia car with beautiful Cranberry red pait, black vinyl interior and the big 454 crate motor with Edelbrock 4-barrel carb. Click the video window above to find out more interesting information and hear it run.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
The 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car was the first in a long line of special Corvette performance sports cars to pace the Indianapolis 500 race. That was the 10th Anniversary year for the Corvette and represented a time when the lgendary Corvette crossed over from being just a sports car to being a collectible from the gitgo. The '78 Pace Car is still revered as one of the best looking Corvettes of all time. Streetside Classics in Tampa, Florida is offering this one for sale with just 71k miles. Pace cars came loaded. Watch their walk-around video at this link to see why it will be our featured DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. Their asking price is only $19,995.
You don't see these very often no matter what car show you go to. Here is a 1948 Kaiser 4-Dr Sedan, a very stately looking (almost Bentley-like stance) nicely proportioned and runs out well, according to the owner. The owner is from Germantown, Wisconsin and says he has owned it for over 30 years. He says it will need paint in the near future. Recent work includes, Rebuilt engine, brakes, fuel system, radiator, transmission. There is an interior shot in the ad. He says the interior is in good shape. You may want him to provide more photos. But hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday because the private seller is only asking $11,000 for this unique piece of history.
Retro Shelby Mustangs are so popular that they are an icon for today's sports car enthusiasts. Of course, we knew that prices would adjust on these cars as they grew older. But it is a surprise to see a 2007 Shelby GT such as this one going for under $20,000. Browns Performance Motorcars has it for sale this week at their Glen Burnie, Maryland store. This Shelby is a Carfax, one-owner with a clean history and only 13K original miles. They say it has been garaged kept and has always been meticulously maintained from brand new, and features the Shaker sound system. It will be our DEAL of the DAY. Browns Performance Motorcars is only asking $19,900 on this one.
The 1947 Oldsmobile Series 76 Sedan is one of the nicest looking "fastback" styled 4-door sedans of the Post-War era. This one, offered by Unique Specialty & Classics in Mankato, Minnesota, comes in the Cambray Green and cream tutone paint. They say the finish has a nice shine and that the car is a quality driver. It has retained its original look, although the drive train is updated with a rebuilt 350 V8 small block motor and TH350 automatic transmission. It also has an aluminum radiator, Edelbrock carb, vintage air and heat and wide whitewall tires. Note the chrome and brightwork in the photos. Unique has put together an interesting walk-around video for our readers to watch. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is only $17,900.
A really interesting 1992 Hummer H1 M998 Military Humvee is being offered for sale by a private seller from Greenville, Tennessee. He says it is driven daily, comes with a clear title and is registered and insured. It was assigned to a Kentucky National Guard unit originally. It has the 6.2 liter motor with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller says it runs and drives excellent. He says it has the cargo cover and radio tray. He has just replaced the brake light switch and upgraded some of the lights to LED. He says the heat works and tires are still in good shape. This HMMWV Humvee will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. His asking price is $16,000. Own a piece of military history that you can drive every day.
Kurt from Cruisin Classics says this 1973 Buick Centurion Convertible "floats like a boat" as you cruise the highway. For a very short period at the end of the muscle car era Buick offered this "gentleman's muscle car" for the executive who had everything. It comes dressed in a dark metallic brown paint with off-white interior. Kurt says the 455 ci V8 fires right up and purrs like new. The automatic transmission shifts great with no slipping. The power convertible top functions well, and features a glass rear window instead of plastic. Cruisin Classics has put together a nice walk-around video for you to view. The big Buick will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. Their asking price is only $15,995 for a piece of American muscle car history.
The owner of Diversion Motors in Manitowoc, Wisconsin is selling his 2002 F-350 Lariat Crew Cab 4X4 Dually which he has owned since 2008. It is the intercooled 7.3 Liter Powerstroke Diesel version with an automatic transmission. Although this vehicle has just turned 300k, he says it was subject to regular DOT maintenance and inspections, so he has full maintenance logs and receipts for the past 11 years. He says the injectors and turbochargers have been rebuilt. He says the rockers and cab corners are completely solid. There are signs of wear and daily use in the paint and the body will have some rust in the usual spots. The truck has many features including overhead console with displays, and a Tekonsha brake controller. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The price is $9,900. Hurry!
