There's only one place we would be the second weekend in August—at the 33rd Annual Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada, of course. All the major casinos are serving home to over 10,000 cars on display this week. This show, held August 6-12, 2019, is all about cruisin' and fun in the summer sun the way they did it back in the 1950's thru 1970's Reno. This is a car town and they know how to throw a party for us Baby Boomers. You can follow all the action at our ClassiCarNews blog page. Be sure to bookmark it as it will be updated in real time with photos and videos all weekend.
There are giant cruises every night in downtown Reno and Sparks, Nevada during Hot August Nights. This show is exciting. There's nothing like cruising under the famous Reno arch as thousands of people crowd along the streets to appreciate all the cars. Each day there will be more and more cars showing up for the cruises and Show & Shines.
They bill Hot August Nights as "the largest classic car and nostalgia event in the U.S." You have to be here to understand just how big it really is. It encompasses all of Reno and Sparks, Nevada. It certainly is the largest car show we have ever seen. Cars will migrate between the casinos to experience each venue and guarantee spectators a constant parade of cars. With pistons sputtering and wheels chirping all over town there is just a different atmosphere here. You'd think you have travelled back in time to an era when America was about horsepower and the popular music was good old time rock 'n' roll.
Some of the top cars in the country will be here to compete for the Hot August Nights Cup. Join us in voting for our Cars-On-Line readers choice award. When you like your favorite car or truck on our Facebook page you'll be casting your vote. We'll have the contenders listed there on Friday and Saturday. Be sure to check back often.

The most powerful V8 engine ever is waiting in this 2018 Dodge Demon for someone to turn the "red key." A private Mopar enthusiast from New Brunswick, Canada just listed an almost brand new, "just out of the wrapper" 2018 Dodge Demon with the special SRT engine and Demon crate package (see photos at the link.) The Demon crate has front skinny's, center console, special air filter, and PCM to run on high octane. The owner tells us there are only 150 miles (220 kilometers) on this Demon. Our newsletter readers know by now that the Demon was a one-year only production. Only 3,000 were built. But this one is a Canadian production Demon. Only 300 of these were produced. Collectors will value them higher than the U.S. production Demons. With the red key the Demon is capable of 840 horsepower. These cars are selling for up to $150,000 at the top collector car auctions.
Ever wonder how to use a lightning rod shifter? North Shore Classics demonstrates on the 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo they just listed for sale in Mundelein, Illinois. Watch above or click here. You'll also get a cold start and a walk around. It comes alive with a Chevrolet 454 Big Block V8 that's been bored over 0.30. There's 450 hp heads and MSD ignition as well. See the interior for an aftermarket gauge package, tilt wheel, custom center console, and more.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Classic Car Deals is bringing you the first DEAL of the DAY this week in this 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Rallye 350. They say it's a January car that's "all there." Well mostly. It's missing the original breather, but it does have a new exhaust, trumpet tips, and a heavy duty suspension. See what else it has in the listing, and note the price. It's only $13,995!
Low miles and a low price? This rare combination is part of the listing for this 1955 Packard Patrician. It's from Classic Car Deals, who is really working this week for that name. This Patrician has just 33,000 miles and an engine that runs well. The paint is recently done. That price? Just $11,995.
Don't underestimate the value of a good Bronco. This one is a 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT from a private seller in West Point, Georgia and is said to come with a good documentation and a clear title. It appears to be well cared for and features a rebuilt 351ci engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and a red interior to match the exterior color scheme. Take a look! The price is listed at $14,500.
Dalton, Georgia is home to this recently listed 1976 GMC Sierra, and according to the seller, that's where it has resided its entire life! It has an original, numbers matching 350ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. Almost everything is new and there's less than 50 miles on the restoration. There's a lot of truck here for the asking price. Just $15,000.
Hard to argue with the asking price of this 1955 Ford Thunderbird. It comes to us from Classic & Collectible Cars of Las Vegas, Nevada. They say it's an older resto, but clean, solid, and rust free. It drives well with a 292, automatic transmission, and wide whitewall tires. It certainly looks pristine. See for yourself. The asking price is just $22,500 or best offer!
Here's a picturesque 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente from a private seller in Theodore, Alabama. They tell us it's an original A code 289 car with a 3-spd transmission, and a partial repaint. You can get a few details of the car's history in the listing. Don't miss it at $13,900 or best offer!
Few classic cars create the same sense of iconic nostalgia as the MG TD Roadster. It's the true definition of a classic and this one is no different. This 1951 MG TD Roadster from Beverly Hills Car Club in California is matching numbers with the desirable black/red color combo and comes equipped with a 4-spd manual, dual carbs, soft top, and side curtains. All for just $12,750.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
