Some like to describe it as the "King Kong" of Chevy muscle cars. There is just no way to exaggerate the impact of the phenomenal 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 454/450 as it appeared on the muscle car scene in 1970. Factory muscle car production was at its peak and automotive companies were recklessly adding horsepower to their top muscle car offerings at the chagrin of insurance companies. And the LS6 Chevelle was one of the baddest muscle cars out there.
Today these LS6 Chevelles are revered by classic muscle car collectors. Fast Lane Classic Cars in St Charles, Missouri advertised a Forest Green 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 for sale this week. What a find for a top muscle car collector. The highly documented LS6 Chevelle is said to be numbers matching with an 800 Holley 4-barrel, Muncie M22 4-speed transmission and 12-bolt Posi rear end. Fast Lane says the documenteation includes an original window sticker, partial build sheet, Protect-o-plate and owners manual. You can see photos of the documentation on the ad page here. Get more details about the documentation and casting numbers in the ad copy and photos.
Fast Lane tellls us that it was restored in the original Forest Green with correct Dark Green bench seat interior. The car has power steering, power disc brakes, day and night rear view mirror, Rally gauges and front and rear seat belts. Check the equipment with the copy of the build sheet in the photos. They say the original LS6 454 motor was rebuilt at a cost of $11,000.
Get more LS6 facts and history at our MyDreamCar.online blog page. You'll find out that factory LS6 Chevelles were known to do sub 14-second ET’s at over 100 mph. And you'll find out how many LS6 Chevelles were produced. Every top collection should have a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 hardtop such as this one. Here is your opportunity to enjoy the power and handling of one of the best muscle cars of all time.

A rare 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Sedan SOLD this week out of our Classic Chevrolet Section online. "The buyer came from Sacramento California to Naples Florida to purchase my 1957 Chevy Bel Air," our advertiser told us. " Cars on Line was a very effective marketing tool. Will use it again." And this was a 4-Door hardtop not a 2-Door. It takes a very specific buyer to complete such a sale. Now the seller knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Follow this link to the SOLD section below. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line.com ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

This week, Cars-On-Line.com readers will be treated to the inventory of a new classic car dealership. From sunny Lakeland, Florida, we hope our readers will enjoy the fresh inventory of Primo Classics Interational. They have an eclectic assortment of vintage classic cars and classic muscle cars in their inventory. A good example is this rare 1941 Desoto Custom Series S8c Convertible in absolutely stunning condition. The older restoration is powered by a 1941 228ci Flathead 6-cylinder engine. What an unusual and interesting find! Our readers will be seeing their ads here in the newsletter going forward. Here is a list of their current inventory just posted yesterday.
It is coming up next week already! One of the last big classic car auctions of the year will be the 2018 Fall Carlisle Auction in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, October 4-6, 2018. Carlisle Events says they will offer 500 cars during the three-day sale. A preview of the auction inventory is available at this link.
Here are some of the cars our readers will be interested in.
Muscle car collectors will be watching this 1970 Mercury Cougar Boss 302 Eliminator as it crosses the auction stage at the 2018 Fall Carlisle Auction next week on Saturday, October 6. They say the 4-speed Boss Eliminator has had only one owner. It is an extremely rare muscle car with 41,527 original miles recorded. Only 469 Boss 302 Eliminators were produced in 1970 according to the Cougar Eliminator Registry.
This is one of just 1,265 Mercury dealer editions built to commemorate the 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser Indy Pace Car Convertible which led the Indianapolis 500 race that year. This particular Pace Car was part of the “Mr. Mercury” Collection. It has had a complete frame up restoration. 1,265 Pace Cars built, very few good examples remain. This Cruiser is equipped with the 368 ci engine and Merc-O-Matic automatic push button transmission. It is fully loaded.
These vintage Dodge Brothers cars are going to be more valuable than Fords as time goes on. Here is a 1925 Dodge Brothers Touring car being offered at the 2018 Fall Carlisle Auction here in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. They say it has a newer top and interior (see the photos at the link). Looks sharp in the photos. It would be worth having inspected at the sale. Amazingly, it comes with the original owners manual! Can you believe that?

At some point old cars begin to take on an iconic look. That's what has happened to this 1955 Nash Ambassador Sedan. No longer does it just look "old." To a collector, this is an incredibly charming and beautiful design, just different enough to make it very rare and desirable today. Primo Classics International out of Lakeland, Florida has this 1955 Nash Ambassador Sedan for sale, and they've shot a detailed walk-around video to go over every angle of the car with you. This is almost as good as an inspection. Watch it here. The best part is that they've just reduced the price on this one to $21,900.

Car collectors love to find original survivor cars in nice condition. It is the Holy Grail of car collecting to find a car preserved just as it was back in the day. And here is just such a creme puff. Classic & Collectible Cars of Las Vegas has just advertised a 1951 Cadillac Fleetwood 60S Sedan which they say is a "one-of-a-kind survivor." They say it has just 18,000 original miles. Note the beautifully preserved paint and interior. They claim it to be 100 percent original right down to the tires. It comes with an original owner card and owners manual.
The following are recently listed Low Miles cars:
American Motors muscle car collectors know it is hard to find a 4-speed AMX these days. And seldom do you find one that is documented. Here is a 1973 AMC AMX project car with the original window sticker, the original straight bill of lading, the original car invoice, original registration, original owners manual and the original consumer information book with the VIN printed on the cover. Seller from Wilbraham, Massachusetts has already started the restoration. It could be yours to finish. You should have it inspected to assess the condition.

Look, prices on "blue collar muscle cars" are trending downward at national auctions these days. That is an indesputable fact that sellers have to be realistic about. But here is an outright buying opportunity. A Jacksonville, Florida collector has a 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T that he feels so protective of that he trailers it to shows. He says that "all numbers on core support, vin, engine and title all match. Runs and drives great." He says he turned down $44,000 for it at the Turkey Run last spring. But just this week he reduced the price to just $32,000. This might be your chance. Hurry!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
In recent years classic pickup trucks have been gradually increasing in value. One of the trends we have noticed is the popularity of International Harvestor light pickup trucks. Because they are more rare than Fords and Chevys, a classic International pickup is a hot commodity in the market. So here is a 1947 International KB-2 Pickup which was just listed out of Cedar, Minnesota. The seller says it is in original condition with just 44,224 miles. The Green Diamond KB-2 has a 6 cylinder engine with a 4-speed transmission, factory Knox box (which they say needs a new wood floor), and new glass. The seller says the stainless is all in place. You should have this one inspected to see how it runs and drives. You also should determine whether this one is a good one to restore. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is only $14,500.
A 1932 Ford Roadster was listed for sale in our Street Rod Section the other day at an interesting price point. It is a fiberglass-bodied '32 Ford reproduction, built in 1981. These fiberglass cars are often very authentic looking. Take a close look at these photos at the link. It comes with a 302 ci V8 Ford motor, C4 automatic Ford transmission and a Mustang II front end with rack-and-pinion steering system. Since it is not a new build you will see some scratches and road rash in the paint. The seller says the top is showing some wear. He says there are no side curtains for the car. But he notes that it drives well. It comes with tilt steering wheel and an AM-FM stereo. Because it is an interesting find for collectors, it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $28,500.
Cars-On-Line.com readers are used to us saying, "If you find a nice first generation Ford Thunderbird roadster for under $30,000 ... buy it." That has been our recommendation for the last ten years or more. But there is one proviso that we insist on ... the T-Bird should be a strong No. 3 condition car or better. Here is a 1955 Ford Thunderbird being offered for sale by a private seller from Whittier, California. He says it has the original 292 V8 with a 3-speed overdrive transmission. He says it has a very straight body and current tags. He says it runs excellent. The interior is custom modified. He discloses that it has been very well maintained. This is one that should be inspected so that you know whether it is a true strong No. 3 condition car. But hurry! The asking price is very attractive at $21,800.
Collectors are probably well aware of the popularity of classic Porsche motorcars. You see top quality Porsche roadsters going for big money at collector auctions nationwide. This week Motorcar Studio in Atlanta (which specializes in imported sports cars) listed a very interesting 1993 Porsche 968 Cabriolet at a very affordable price poiint. They tell us the 968 Porsche is a clean and well-cared for example with 114,000 miles. They say the CarFax is clean and accident-free. Follow this link to view a walk-around video of the car and hear it run. The colors, Grand Prix white exterior with a Navy leather interior and Navy convertible top is an attractive combination. The car runs well and drives well, they say. Even the air blows cold. It has a power top. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week as Motorcar Studio is offering it for $17,900.
History tells us that Horance and John Dodge built better cars than Henry Ford, and they cost almost twice what a Model T would have cost back in the day. Their technical skills were probably more accute than Ford's so it came to pass that their cars were more dependable and mechanically sound. But Fords sold better and Henry made cars for the masses, very cheap cars with simple mechanics. So today there are more Fords out there than Dodge Brothers cars. That's why this 1925 Dodge Brothers 3-Window Coupe is such a treasure. The private seller from Twisp, Washington says it runs well. Ironically, the custom car comes with a V6 Ford engine and a 4-speed transmission. The seller says it has an all metal body which is very desirable for street rod collectors. This week, it will be our DEAL of the DAY with an asking price of just $9,950.
The muscle car era had come and gone, but in the early 1990's Chevrolet was still cognizant of a desire for performance. They came out with their SS 454 pickup trucks in 1990 and they were an immediate market mover with 13,000 units sold that year. The SS 454 motor produced 230 hp with a tire-shredding 385 foot-pounds of torque. Carriage Classics out of Crestwood, Kentucky has listed this very desirable example of a 1990 Chevy SS 454 Pickup for sale this week in our Truck Section. They have receipts for a recent engine rebuild on the legendary big block motor and TH400 transmission. It has the origiinal 14-bolt rear end and 5-lug bolt patterns. They say the black paint is slick and shows well. Will this be a future classic? You bet it will. And you can get it now before they go up in value. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $10,900.
Look closely at the fenders on this 1949 Ford F1 Pickup. Can you tell they are fabricated from fiberglass? It's true. The seller from Harrisburg, Arkansas is offering this classic pickup truck for sale in nice condition. The amazing part is that he says it needs practically no body work. He says it has 51k original miles with a good interior and mostly original truck. This might be the one to restore or just drive it as it is. The seller says it has a Ford Maverick rear end for better cruising. Otherwise it comes with a flathead six cylinder engine which he says runs great. In his description he says it is a "rust-free" and "dent free" truck. It would certainly be cost effective to get involved with this truck if you are intending to restore a classic pickup. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The seller is asking $14,000.
