When the dust had settled on Detroit in 1960 a new automotive icon had been born. Chevrolet's Impala had emerged as the best selling passenger car in America. It's future was so bright you had to wear shades. Its glow would last for decades.
KC Classic Auto listed this 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible yesterday. It immediately started a ground swell of interest. The Kansas City area classic car dealer shows us high resolution photos of the 348 big block motor with the tripower triple deuce carbs and the correct air cleaner. Although the car comes without documentation, the car has been priced accordingly. It is one of the best deals on Cars-On-Line.com this week. We predict it will pull hundreds of pageviews this weekend. You'll be able to gauge its popularity when we post it on Facebook on Sunday.
The car comes with power steering, power brakes and power convertible top. These were fairly expensive options in 1960. The interior is done in the very desirable red houndstooth upholstery. Overall the car and paint are gorgeous.
Many think the 348 ci V8 Chevy truck motor mated to a triple deuce carburetor was what started the muscle car era. You could produce more horsepower than you could put to the ground. So this 1960 version of the Impala really had it all. With just the right amount of chrome and trim it looks almost elegant with the top down. Its lines and design were space age images of the times we lived in. It ushered in a new era of cars that a younger baby-boom generation was going to love.
Be sure to read the full story on the 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible in a MyDreamCar.online blog post today. It gives you more of the history of the Impala and tells you about the effect it had in 1960. You'll also get the production numbers and will be able to view a video from KC Classic Auto where you can get behind the wheel of this beautiful 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible and hear the solid lifter 348 make music with those three deuces. You don't want to miss that experience.

Last week we promised our readers that we would publish a list of Top 10 Collector Cars of All Time. We wanted to put together a list of the top sellers among collector cars (both classic cars and muscle cars) so our readers would know what is hot in the market. This list does not try to gauge popularity based on subjective opinion. Our Top 10 is based on actual sales. We factored in two things to make this list: (1) actual sales figures for the past six months, and (2) results from Google and Bing search engine requests for that same period. You may be surprised by what we found out. Here is the link to our published report on the Top 10 Collector Cars of All Time. We even extend the list to include the Next 10 at the end of the article. Knowing what is most popular among buyers helps you know the market. Knowledge means profit in this market.
How many of you remember where you were when you first saw the 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang for the first time? This week, photo-journalist Bob Boberg of eClassicAutos.com takes a moment to tell our readers about a fresh look at the making of the Ford Mustang. The book Mustang by Design has just been written by James Dinsmore and James Halderman. It reveals a new angle on the story of the Mustang by letting you into the Ford design studio and getting to know the actual design team that fashioned the Mustang. In a review of the new book, we see the interaction of one of the young design team members, Gale Halderman who is an eye witness to all that is happening. Those of us who are old enough to have lived through those times will take delight in remembering how the Mustang impacted our lives. In Boberg's review we not only see how the Mustang effected our lives, but we get to know the people who made the Mustang happen. Click here to read his review of Mustang by Design.
We were notified this week that an Oregon man SOLD his 1970 Dodge Challenger SE through a Cars-On-Line.com Run Till Sold ad. This is exactly the kind of car that is selling so well in this market. His '70 Challenger SE had a swapped out 440 big block motor with a mild cam and only 500 miles on the redo. The car has had a frame-off restoration. This is a car you can drive and be proud of. Nice job, Ken. We really appreciate our sellers, especially when they give us feedback. Now Ken knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Follow this link to the SOLD section below. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

As Ferrari handed the baton to their new 365 GT in 1967 a new era of creature comforts were making their way into the legendary street version passenger sports cars from Modena. Only 800 examples were hand built at the Modena facility from 1967 to 1971. It featured the first independent rear suspension ever on a Ferrari. Koni engineered the rear suspension to include a self-leveling feature to steady the ride height when carrying passengers in the rear seats. The one you see here is a 1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 now being offered for sale at Motorcar Classics in Farmingdale, New York. It has the 4.4-litre, 320 hp version of the Colombo V-12 motor with Weber carburetors and a 5-speed manual transmission. According to the ad, the handling is superb with 4-wheel vented disc brakes, and a driver compartment that includes power steering, electric windows, air conditioning and an abundance of wood and leather on the dash. Motorcar Classics tells us it shows 72k miles. Books, tools (see photos) and a substantial history file are included with the sale. You will find it today in the COL Ferrari Section online.
Like something out of the Fast & Furious movie series, this 1968 Dodge Charger street fighter was meticulously built by a hot rodder from Auburn Hills, Michigan. The seller describes the build as a labor of love. His decision to sell the car now is an opportunity for our readers. Life happens. He figures he has about 2,000 hours in the body and paint. "The engine is a '71 440 that was completely gone through," and he says the BDS blower has been rebuilt. He says he has hundreds of hours in the custom interior as well, with carbon fiber dash, heated and power seats, custom upholstery, dakota digital gauges, fiber optics, push button start, door poppers, custom dome lights, a custom dashboard, console and a reverse manual shifter. It is significant that as nice as this car is, it was built to drive and has street manners. We are hoping someone will want to have it inspected so we can get a close up look.
The story on this 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II is that it was owned by Joe Dimaggio. Unfortunately, Specialty Sales Classics in Pleasanton, California says the story is only anecdotal. There is no documentation to prove the story. It was something the owner was told when he bought it. Whether the story is true or not you have to be impressed by the car. The Shenandoah Green Poly exterior paint and matching green/tan leather interior are just gorgeous. The Lincoln was hand built at the factory with factory air conditioning, power brakes and an AM radio, plus sensational styling and finishing touches throughout. "This is one of the most impressive original examples we’ve come across in quite some time," Specialty Sales Classics tells us. This 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II Coupe is one of 3,005 examples that were hand-built during a short two-year production run. At the time, it was the most expensive American production car ever made. You can find this one in the COL classic Lincoln Section online today.
The original father/son owners of this 1958 Morgan +4 Roadster just posted it on Cars On Line along with the video above. You can also click here to view. We're told they displayed it at the "Back to the Brits" car show every summer. It features an original engine, rebuilt and re-sleeved. The video is professionally produced as part of the estate sale and you'll get a look under the hood and a fun test drive.

Gullwing Motor Cars out of Astoria, New York has a 1973 DeTomaso Pantera L which they say has only 13k original miles on it. They indicate that it is a perfect candidate for a restoration. You may want to call them and find out how it runs and drives. Although it certainly is no show car in its current condtion, it really does not look that bad now. Maybe you should have it inspected. Low miles = good investment.

USA Hot Cars in San Ramon, California tells us this 1947 Ford Woody Wagon is the perfect car to do a restoration. We go to a lot of woody shows and to us this looks like most of the cars that are out there. They say it runs and drives well. And it remains as an original survivor right now. In fact, you should see this walk-around video to assess this car's condition. Although it is presented as a project car, it looks like it drives real nice in the video. Yet it is priced at half what a woody wagon will run you when they are restored. This is one you have to check out.

You've found it! This may be the best deal on the Cars-On-Line.com website this week! That's because the owner of this 1947 Buick Super Convertible from Ocala, Florida was asking $54,000 just last week. This beautiful tangerine resto rod with Gold Pearl has a long list of custom mods (see the list here.) It has undergone a full rotisserie restoration and subsequently won two national level awards. It has also been featured in magazines. This car makes a great impression wherever it goes. But the seller needs to move it now. He just dropped the price from $54,000 down to only $36,500. Deals like this don't come along every day. If you don't already have the phone in your hand, you might miss this one. Hurry!

This 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe is a fabulous recreation of the third out of five Grand Sport Corvette race cars designed to compete with Carroll Shelby's Cobras. Built by D&D Corvette, it is said to be as close to the original as possible. Read the ad copy to verify how this one was built. It comes in Penske livery. True knock-off hubs with magnesium rims by Halibrand and the original Good Year blue streak tires also with only 61 original miles. This one has an LT1 350 CI small block V8, 4-speed, with Simpson racing harnesses. There will not be another Grand Sport tribute more accurate than this one. Can we inspect this one for you?

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
The DEALs of the DAY selections this week are amazing. Here is a 1962 Ford Econoline Pickup which has been customized to replicate the Hot Wheels diecast toy made by Mattel. A collector from Farmersville, Texas is selling some of the items from his collection. He says it is a solid Texas vehicle with new paint and "runs beautiful!" It has a semi truck air horn as well as a whistler intake horn, CB and external speaker, gas tank in the bed and new Kraco stereo with hanging Polk speakers. It comes with a functional tachometer, 6 cyclinder engine with 3-on-a-tree and Zoomy exhaust exits. "This thing gets swarmed whenever its out," he says. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because he is only asking $10,500.
Here is an amazing find. The seller says this 1938 Packard 1600 Touring Sedan runs, drives, and is an older restoration that shows well; "appearing largely correct right down to the Green 245 cubic inch six cylinder engine." The consignment seller says the "brakes work well, tires appear new, and interior is nice appearing stock." They further note that it has a "very solid all steel chassis" with "floors, fenders all good." We know that there were 30,050 of these Packard Six sedans sold in 1938. It was considered a luxurious car in its day. You can drive it now while you ponder the restoration. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $14,995.
A 1966 Chevy Nova Wagon with the monicker "Grumpy's Surf Wagon" is up for sale by a collector from Huntsville, Alabama. The seller has put together a nice video walk-around which is very informative. It paints a good picture of the true condition class. He also takes you on a test drive so you can experience the performance. It goes! The seller says it is a driver class wagon, and it does get driven. This car has done the Hot Rod Power Tour four times so you know it cruises well. It has a 327 with small cam, double hump heads, headers, TH350 automatic transmission and Ford 9" rear end. He says it has a Church Brothers front end with 4-wheel disc brakes. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday with an asking price of $18,500.
The Chevrolet Master series was their high end sedan with special features. The Chevrolet Six Cylinder engine was improved with better lubrication and redesigned combustion chamber. It was only available on the Master series for 1934. This 1934 Chevrolet Master is being offered for sale by a private seller in Richmond, New Hampshire. He says it is an original unrestored car with low mileage. The car shows only 56,813 miles. He says this is an "all original survivor." A big plus is that it comes with full service records. He says it runs great. It will be our DEAL of the DAY come next week. The asking price is $12,000. We hope you'll have it inspected because we'd love to look this one over.
A private seller from Manassas, Virginia is offering his 1964 Ford Falcon Futura for sale. The seller says he restored it to a nice driver quality. You can tell from the photos that there is a great value here. He says there are so many new parts installed that you really have to appreciate the effort. It is a really nice example of a Falcon. The stance is great. The paint and chrome are bright, exhaust is loud, and the interior is new and comfy. Click through to the ad to get a detailed decription of the drivetrain, exhaust, and body. There is so much new equipment on the car that you really have to read through it. The nice clear photos in the Slide Show ad give you a great perspective on the quality of the interior. This one will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week. The asking price is $17,500. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the price.
Collectors love the Canadian made Pontiac Parisienne passenger cars. They were built at the Oshawa plant and used the shorter Chevrolet chassis and drivetrains. But they used Pontiac body panels modified to fit. Here is a 1962 Pontiac Parisienne 2-Door Bubble Top. What a find! Dark red with white top, the seller says it was redone in late 1990's, with a 283 engine (but has 327 heads), TH350 automatic transmission and dual exhaust. The seller admits that the interior is a little faded, but tells us it has good chrome, glass and paint. He says it is a great cruiser. This is one you may want to have inspected before you buy. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY in the coming week. Asking $18,000.
There are a bunch of great photos posted on this ad page for a 1951 Ford F1 Custom. It is being sold at USA Hot Cars in San Ramon, California. It comes with a massive list of mods and parts from a wide spectrum of American classic cars. It has a Pontiac 400 ci V8, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, chrome velocity stack air cleaner, power front disc brakes, Plymouth Volare front clip, Ford 9-inch rear end and dual exhaust with glass packs. The top has been chopped 4 inches. But the look and feel of the hot rod pickup are not too radical. You should have it inspected before you buy to see how it goes down the road. But hurry. The asking price is only $19,995.
