Mopar collectors may regard this as blasphemy. But it is true. A 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T is more rare than a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. The casual collector may miss it completely. The 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T you see here is not only an E-Body 426 Hemi car, but one that also came from the factory in TX-9 Tuxedo black finish with a black interior. In a related link below you will learn how many of each were produced. You may be surprised.
Legendary Motorcar Company just posted this black 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T hardtop for sale. They specialize in very high end collector cars. They really hit the jackpot with this one. They tell us it is fully documented and has been rotisserie restored. Research shows this 1970 Challenger was assembled at the Hamtramck, Michigan plant November 15, 1969. It is one of only 137 Challenger hardtops built with the legendary 426 Hemi engine and a 4-speed Pistol Grip transmission. It also came with a long list of desirable options.
Having benefited from a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration, this 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T is an exceptional example. The car comes wth a copy of the broadcast sheet, decoded by Galen Govier. They say it has been owned and maintained by a collector ever since the restoration.
The E-Body 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T was built to go fast in a straight line. There was no attempt to hide the fact that the Challenger hardtop was meant to be drag raced. According to a Road Test magazine review back in the day, a stock original '70 Hemi Challenger hardtop out of the dealer showroom would do 0 to 60 mph in about six seconds, blasting the quarter mile (on stock tires) in around 14 seconds at 104 miles per hour.
In a MyDreamCar.online blog post today, Cars-On-Line.com makes an argument that the Hemi Challenger for 1970 is even more rare and desirable than the Plymouth Hemi Cuda of the same year. (Click here to read the blog now.) The numbers they cite truly show this 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T hardtop to be a treasure for any top drawer Mopar collection. These high end Mopar muscle cars often are never available to the public because they get traded between collections and are never seen on the open market. So this is a great opportunity to acquire one now. Well documented, numbers matching Hemi Challenger R/T's with this type of provenance only come along a few times each year.

We just got our fresh Cadillac & LaSalle Club Potomac Region newsletter this week. We get it every month and look forward to finding out what this very active Cadillac Car Club is doing. Editor Vince Taliano is kind enough to make sure we see it each month. The October edition of the CLCPR newsletter was so interesting we thought we would share it with our readers. (Click here to review the newsletter in .pdf format.) One of the featured stories is about the restoration of the 1937 Cadillac V16 Roadster with coachwork by Hartmann of Lausanne, Switzerland. It is the car that did well in the concourse at Pebble Beach this year. They also have a story on the Nethercutt Museum in California. Click this link to the website to contact Vince about becoming a member of the CLCPR, and get their newsletter.
This week we heard from a seller from Rolla, Missouri who listed an eleven-year-old Shelby GT retro car for sale using a Cars-On-Line.com Run Till Sold ad. The Run Till Sold ad has become the standard of the industry since Cars-On-Line.com initiated it in the mid-1990's. This Missouri seller was relieved to find out he could sell his 2007 Shelby GT through his COL ad online. They only produced 639 of these special edition GT's. The trick to selling it was find the right buyer who could appreciate it. Now he knows why we always say, ""You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Follow this link to the SOLD section below where you will see all of the private sellers who SOLD their cars through COL this week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line.com ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

This Grabber blue 1970 Boss 429 Mustang may be one of the best examples on the planet. Legendary Motorcar Company listed it for sale yesterday. This incredible muscle car won SAAC Division 1 Gold And MCA Concours Gold as a result of its beautiful concours restoration. Legendary tells us it comes fully documented (see photos of the paperwork in the ad.) They say it still has the matching numbers monster 429 ci big block engine. The Boss 9 engine was rated very conservatively at 375 hp while actual output was believed to be well over 500 hp. This historic muscle car is probably Ford's finest moment. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the top muscle cars of all time.
Take a ride through time alongside this 1959 Porsche Intermeccanica 356 D, courtesy of the video feature by a private seller in Bel Air, Maryland. Intermeccanica (IM) of Vancouver, Canada built this beauty from the ground up with a custom molded body and a VW/Audi engine. Extras include a painted, removable hard top and a rare removable tonneau cover. There's just 24,500 miles logged on the odometer, and the seller states that you will not be disappointed with the ride or performance. Watch the video above, or click here!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Our top DEAL of the DAY this week is a 1972 Chevy El Camino which is being offered for sale at Primo Classics International this week. They tell us that this sharp looking El Camino has been nicely restored. Looks great, however you will note that it is not all original. It now has a 350 4-barrel motor with an automatic transmission. The clean paint show nicely in the photos, newer chrome, Houndstooth interior. The extras include power steering, power front disc brakes, coated headers and Flowmater dual exhaust. It has a high-rise performance intake, cowl induction hood and come with a tach. The suspension has been upgraded as well. Want a real cool driver? This one will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price of $18,900.
During the post-war period, Packard was going through so many changes. One of its interesting designs was this 1952 Packard Mayfair 2-Dr Hardtop now being offered for sale by a private collector from Coal Township, Pennsylvania. It could be our "sleeper" deal this week because the price is very affordable. We do caution you to have it inspected before you buy. The seller indicates that it has been restored and now has a little over 70k miles. We would like you to have an independent inspector tell you what the condition class is. The seller says it comes with a service manual and extra parts. He indicates that the car needs a new battery. That may mean it is not running currently. It is always good to have an inspection to determine some of these things. The battery would have to be replaced before the inspection in order for us to tell you the true condition class. Because of the affordable price range it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $13,000.
You will find a lot of first generation Mustang GT fastbacks priced in the $35,000 price range. So when you find a sharp looking 1965 Mustang GT Fastback such as this one from Excelsior, Minnesota, you have to take a second look. The private seller says it is a solid Texas car with many factory options and after-market upgrades. He points out some problem areas in the photos. The photos reveal Deluxe Pony interior, Rally Pac gauges, reproduction Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo and the popular fold-down rear seat. Pop the nood and you will find a 347 ci stroker motor with SVO aluminum heads and a 'mild' cam. There are a ton of upgrades on this one also. See the ad for a lengthy list to include Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, steel headers, 2 1/2-inch stainless steel exhaust and more. It has a toploader 4-speed transmission with Hurst shift and Currie 9" Posi rear end. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday as the asking price is $18,500. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the money.
A private seller from Utah is offering his 1966 Ford F100 Pickup for sale this week. He says it has been gone through mechanically from tip-to-bottom, but it has a few spots where the paint has some wear and road rash. Quite a bit of new equipment includes an electronic ignition, 4-barrel intake, carb and air intake, brand new headers and exhaust, new brakes all around, new clutch, harmonic balancer, transfer case gone through and new fuel and water pumps. With all that work done, this truck is worth having inspected. The seller says, ". This is a very sound, great running classic truck with less than 100 miles on all the work described above." It will be our DEAL of the DAY this coming week with an asking price of $10,500.
Cruisin Classics, a classic car dealer from Columbus, Ohio, has a really sharp looking 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo for sale. It looks to be a nice driver quality car for a very reasonable price. Not an original car but a stylish looking driver, it comes with a 350 ci engine with a stock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, HEI Ignition and exhaust headers. It has a 3-speed automatic transmission with a 12-bolt rear end. The black cherry paint is sharp, and it has a nice rake that accommodates the nice fat 255/60/15s on the back and 215/65/15s front tires with steel wheels. This is a car that gives you status. Watch this walk-around video and hear it run. It will be our DEAL of the DAY because the asking price is only $17,995.
Ellingson Motorcars in Rogers, Minnesota has this elegant 1970 Cadillac DeVille Convertible with a 472 cu. in. V8 motor with a 400 turbo automatic transmission. The options include air conditioning, power front disc brakes, power steering, power door locks, power windows and power convertible top. They tell us it rides like a dream with black vinyl seats and arm rests, column shifter and cruise control. A close look at the photos in the ad will tell you that the odometer currently reads 71,440 miles. From the photos it looks as though this is a well maintained and clean example. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week since the price is only $19,995.
It is kind of amazing how popular off-road and 4X4 vehicles are becoming in this market. Every week we have a special section for these vehicles in this newsletter. But this week a 1980 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade was listed by Classic Car Liquidators for such an affordable price that we had to tell you about here in the DEAL of the DAY. The sharp looking Jeep comes with removable doors, power steering, front disc brakes, center console, roll bar, removable top, fender flares and bucket seats. The interior is clean even though it does show some wear. This is a driver quality Jeep. Take a look at the photos in the ad to get a better idea of the condition class. It will be our DEAL of the DAY if it lasts that long. The asking price is only $14,999. Hurry!
