Few cars can ever compare to the elegant, smooth luxury ride of the 19-foot long 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. Only the huge American interstate highway system could justify such a bodacious road car. And the American propensity for big cars and inexpensive gas prices prompted Pontiac to build this incredible wide-track land yacht.
Cloud 9 Classics, a classic car dealer in Alpharetta, Georgia, listed this Coronado Red metallic 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible for sale this week. (Follow the link to see dozens of high quality photos.) The Bonneville was the top-of-the-line model for Pontiac Motor Division in 1959 and 1960. For whatever reason, very few of these early 1960's Pontiacs have survived till today. That makes them heavy targets for the collector car community. This one is not a perfect car (comes with an NOM 400 V8 engine) so it is being offered at about half the value of a completely original car. But check it out closely. It could be an affordable addition to any collection.
This old girl was ordered with the hard-to-find Continental kit which looks great and works correctly, tilting back to allow you access to the trunk and fuel fill neck when needed. Drop the white convertible top and you expose a stunning tri-tone leather interior, one of the nicest Pontiac ever designed. Both exterior and interior are described as show quality. However, the seller notes a few minor issues with both. It includes a power front driver's seat, power windows and an Ivory colored steering wheel. The seller describes the condition of the dash as appearing as "close to brand new." The Walnut wood trim is described as "nice." You will find the 28 photos very telling on condition and quality.
Among the photos in the ad are some depicting the original owner's manual and dealer brochures from the 1960 model year. There is also a photo of the data plate.
Readers who want to find out more about this 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible may discover the rest of the story in the MyDreamCar.online blog. Be sure to use the comments box at the bottom of the blog to tell us your recollections of Pontiac's early Bonnevilles. We love to hear your stories.

Collectors in the Southeastern U.S. are all talking about the upcoming Fall 2018 Raleigh Classic Auction to be held in Raleigh, North Carlina, December 7-8, 2018. The Raleigh Classic promoters are advertising a good number of woody collector cars to be offered for sale at this Christmas-time classic event. Chances are very good that several lucky collectors will come away with some bargain priced treasures from this sale. The 1947 Nash Ambassador Suburban Woody shown here is a great example of a rare wood-bodied original collector car. Not many of these around. Check the estimated sale price at the link. You might be surprised at how affordable some of these woody's will be. Now if they were on the West Coast these cars would go for a much higher price. The smart collector will be at the Raleigh Classic in December. Follow this link to see more of the announced inventory at December's Raleigh Classic.
Remember when the first 2018 Dodge Demon SRT retro muscle cars came out earlier in 2018? People were bidding absolutely insane prices for them at the Mecum Auctions through the first half of this year. Just this week a private seller told us he sold his red 2018 Dodge Demon SRT through a Cars-On-Line.com Run Till Sold ad. The seller was flipping the car while it was "still in the wrapper." He said there were only 18 miles on it when he advertised it. The extended warranty still had 84 months. According to the ad copy, this Demon SRT was No. 530 in the production sequence. Now the seller knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Follow this link to the SOLD section below where you will see all of the private sellers who SOLD their cars through COL this week. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line.com. Click here to start your ad now.

Moving to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for 2018, RM Sotheby's premier auction sale in Southern California will take place on December 8. The caliber of the event will be akin to RM Sotheby's groundbreaking New York collector car auctions, held biennially at Sotheby's global headquarters in Manhattan. The Petersen Automotive Museum Auction will feature approximately 50–60 blue-chip automobiles, hand-selected by RM Sotheby's global team of 30 Car Specialists. The offerings will be fully researched for pedigree and historical provenance. Los Angeles is a world class venue with exciting accomodations, making for a perfect place to enjoy an auction event of this magnitude.
This week we learned that the RM Sotheby's Auction would be selling an exclusive number of hard-to-find Exotic Super Cars at their Petersen Museum sale here in L.A. For example, this 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Villa d'Este will be Lot # 207 at the Saturday sale on December 8. Some of Aston Martin's most sought after models have been done by Zagato over the years. Only fiften were imported to the U.S. All had the 592-hp version of Aston Martin’s V-12 engine that delivers power to the rear wheels, an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and big CCM brakes lurking behind its 20-in. alloy wheels. For a samply of the other Exotic Super Cars follow this link.
As you might guess, there will be a number of rare vintage American classic cars offered at the RM Sotheby's Petersen Museum Auction in December. A 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton will be one of the highlights as Lot # 190. It is an award winning older restoration which has been certified by the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club as a category one classic. The Lycoming 8 cylinder motor is blown and exhales through the iconic side exhaust believed to have been added to the Cord by stylist Alex Tremulis, later of Tucker fame, and was engineered by none other than August Duesenberg. The factory rating on the engine was 170 hp. These cars set a record reaching 80 mph at the Indianapolis 500 race that year.
One of the most sought after cars in the world, a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta was designed by Scaglietti. This one will be offered for sale at the Petersen Museum Auction in December as Lot # 196. It is thought to be one of only five Daytonas to be produced in the Rosso Cordoba (106-R-7 Salchi) exterior color that year. The interior is Pelle Beige (VM 3218) with Nero seat inserts.
The Petersen Museum sale has a number of rare and interesting classic microcars and scooters. This 1964 Messerschmitt KR 200 Three-Wheel Roadster is one of them. It is said to be the very last production roadster known to exist. This car is very significant in that it is the second-to-last Messerschmitt ever produced, and it is one of these very rare original roadsters. The where-abouts of the very last roadster remain unknown. This is a significant find.

They're located in Ortonville, Michigan and just listed this Bolero Red muscle car with a factory black bucket seat console interior, original dash, and under dash gauges. The drive train has a period correct 396 with Edelbrock aluminum intake and dual feed Holley 4-barrel carb. Watch it here!

We are always so impressed with the nice low miles cars they offer at the Raleigh Classic in Raleigh, North Carolina (see story above.) Here is one of the examples that show why we like this auction so much. It is a desirable 1966 Chevy Nova which they tell us has only 16k miles, believed to be original. It is equipped with the 283 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission. This fine example has had a complete tune-up including rebuilt carburetor, new fuel tank, new fuel pump, new battery and recent oil change
The following are recently listed Low Miles cars:
1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V, Raleigh Classic, Raleigh Classic Auction
1966 Chevy Nova, Raleigh Classic, Only 16k miles, Believed to be actual, Auction
1987 Mustang GT from Shenandoah, VA, 19k original miles, A/C, Original owner

1965 Mustang GT Fastback from Morrisville, VT, 26k miles, Rear seat delete
A 1955 Chevy 210 from Blackdog Performance Cars is a mild custom project that would not take a lot to finish. They say it has a 350 ci V8 engine with chrome valve covers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake and carburetor, an RPC air filter and aluminum radiator. Add-ons like Vintage Air, power disc brakes up front and power steering make it enjoyable to drive. Check out this video of the dyno run. They say it runs and drives fantastic.

The hot deal in this week's PRICE REDUCED section is a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am from Oxford, Connecticut. The Lucerne blue paint is original to the car, according to the seller. That alone makes it very rare and desirable. The muscle car has the original automatic transmission (with shift kit when rebuilt) and 12-bolt posi rear end with 3.55 gears. Extensive restoration work was done as described in the ad copy. Even the upper and lower control arms were powder coated. It would be interesting to find out how it appraises out by having a pre-purchase inspection done on this car. But don't let the seller know the appraiser's suggested value. We think it will be well above his reduced price. He was asking $60,000 when he listed the car. He just dropped the price by $10,000 to just $50,000.
You'll find hundreds more PRICE REDUCED vehicles on the Price Reduced Feed today. Here are just a few:

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Oh, wow! The DEALs of the DAY are the stars of this week's newsletter. With a popular Code 62 Bittersweet original finish, this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SX Convertible is an incredible find in its own right. But why is it found here in the DEAL of the DAY feature? Because the price is right. Streetside Classics in Ft Worth, Texas has it for sale as a price leader for the weekend. Remember, the Cutlass SX was the "poor man's" 442. So this is a big block 455 Oldsmobile muscle car that looks good and has all the power and stamina of a 442. This is a win, win for muscle car buyers. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is only $28,995. Hurry on this one!
As a reminder to Chevrolet collectors, you will remember that the top line model for the Master Deluxe was the Special Deluxe starting in 1940. So here is a 1941 Chevy Special Deluxe, the more stylish version of the Master Deluxe that year. You will notice that this one has been tastefully updated with a GM 350 which was installed in 1998. Classical Gas Motors, a member of the COL Dealer Network, tells us it runs well and received a lot of chrome add-ons and a March pulley system. The transmission is a 700R4 automatic with overdrive and utilizes a remote cooler. The rear end is a 10 bolt out of a Nova. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $24,450.
It is getting so you can't find a 1969 Firebird for under $30,000 any more. But here is a 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible from Eugene, Oregon that comes with a lower price tag. The private seller says it comes with a rebuilt and balanced engine with about 2,000 miles on it, and a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. He says the transmission has just 500 miles. From the photos it looks like this one could be described as a driver quality car. That means it is not a show car, but may be driven for fun. The seller believes there were only 2,300 of these produced by Pontiac. The car has power steering and power brakes. The seller does not say it has been restored. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy ... but hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday with an asking price of $20,000.
Few collector cars are as "cute" and popular as Austin Healey's little Bugeye Sprite two-seater sports car. This is a 1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite (name comes from the headlight position) offered for sale by Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California. The color is Primrose yellow with a black interior. It comes equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, soft top, Tonneau cover, and solid wheels. They tell us it is an excellent weekend driver which is mechanically sound. It should be noted that Beverly Hills Car Club has an exclusive clientele, many of which are residents of the Hollywood Hills where so many collectible sports cars are stored away in forgotten storage areas. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this coming week with an asking price of $12,750.
What a great old school hot rod. A 1938 Ford Standard Coupe was just listed for sale by a private seller from Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. It comes with a small block Chevy motor, dropped front axle with disc brakes and the "original 3-speed transmission and stock rear end." It looks real nice in the photos but don't expect a show car here. Look at the photos of the undercarriage. It looks pretty solid. Be sure to have that verified with a pre-purchase inspection and appraisal. The seller says the paint is over 40 year old. It has some checking and imperfections. The seller says it runs and drives excellent. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $26,500.
Although this 1965 Chevy El Camino may be a bit more of a project truck than the rest of this week's DEALs of the DAY, the owner says you can drive it anywhere. The seller from Henderson, Nevada says it has a 350 4-bolt main small block bored .030" over (355 cid), ceramic-coated headers (1.625-inch tubes) and 2.5-inch dual exhaust, H-Pipe with Flowmaster 40s. The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed with posi traction rear end. The seller says he has a folder full of receipts and the original Protecto-plate. If you read the ad descriiption at the link he details some of the issues the truck still has. But the pluses far outway the minuses on this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY late next week. The asking price is only $17,500.
Here is the hot rod you've always wanted but were afraid you couldn't afford. A 1926 Ford T Roadster has been listed for sale by a private seller in Des Moines, Iowa. Check out the photos at the link. It looks like a nicely done out school looking rod with some top quality parts. The seller says it has a small block Chevy with 350 automatic, polished Edelbrock manifold and carb, Speedway shotgun headers, Weld wheels and custom interior by Karl Kustoms. It comes with an automatic transmission with just 6,000 miles recorded on the build. The purple with yellow accents is repeated throughout the interior and exterior. As always, have it inspected before you purchase it. But hurry. The asking price on this one is only $17,500.
