For car collectors today, one of the rarest trophies of the muscle car era is the 1969 Cale Yarborough Edition Mercury Cyclone Spoiler R Code 428CJ. They're rare allright. One of these big block Cale Cyclones was just posted for sale in the Cars On Line.com Mercury Muscle Car Section this week. The seller tells us it is one of only three currently registered in the Talladega-Spoiler Registry.
The owner of this 1969 Cale Yarborough Edition Mercury Cyclone Spoiler aught to know. After all, he is the founder of the Talladega-Spoiler Registry. He and his wife have owned the car for the past twelve years. "We had a rotisserie restoration completed approximately 9 years ago," he told us. "And it has accumulated around 1,000 miles since then and has always been garaged in our climate controlled show room. This is a very rare opportunity to own one of the rarest aero cars produced and one with a great pedigree." He paid for some special research done by Kevin Marti, Ford historian and keeper of the Ford factory production archives. Marti told him there were only 617 Cale Yarborough edition Cyclones produced in total. Most came with 351 Windsor engines or the big block 390. However, the aero designed 1969 Cale Yarborough Mercury Cyclone Spoiler offered here came with the Ram Air 428CJ. Keven Marti of the Marti Report told Fleener that only 41 Cale Yarborough 428CJ Spoilers were produced. Of those, only 28 came with the C6 automatic transmission.
By 1969, the year that the "aero wars" got started, muscle car perfomance would no longer be dominated by horsepower alone. Aerodynamic design took over where horsepower left off. Enter the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler and Ford Talladega to dominate in NASCAR and at the local drag strip. The long sweeping fastback design which was introduced in 1968 was further developed for 1969 with a longer front nose treatment and spoiler in the rear. Production of SportsRoof fastback Cyclones reached 3,780 units that year. But the rarest of these super speedway designs was the 1969 Cale Yarborough Edition Mercury Cyclone Spoiler with the R Code 428CJ.
This 1969 Cale Yarborough Edition Mercury Cyclone Spoiler has been featured in dozens of magazine feature articles and books written on performance car history. It has also be the star of Muscle Car TV, Powerblock TV and on ESPN2's Mother's Car Show.
Muscle car entusiasts find the Cyclone Spoiler and Cyclone Spoiler II terminology a little confusing. Both names were used for the Cale Yarborough Edition car produced in 1969. Click through to our MyDreamCar.online blog site to read about the difference between the Spoiler and Spoiler II designations.

His Holiness Pope Francis must have been keeping the Cardinals up at night tearing around Vatican City in his 2018 Lamborghini Huracán RWD Coupé. The jig is up. They are selling it at the RM Sotheby's MONACO 2018 auction this Saturday, May 12, 2018. All kidding aside, Lamborghini gifted the supercar to His Holiness in late 2017 and he's decided to put the "virtually new" Huracán to good use, with proceeds from the auction going to five charitable organizations; the besieged city of Nineveh, Iraq, 'Amici per il Centrafrica Onlus', Groupe International Chirurgiens Amis de la Main, and the Pope John XXIII Community Association. It rides on diamond-finished 20-inch Giano wheels covering Nero calipers, is trimmed with Bianco Leda Sportivo leather, and features the signature of the Pope himself on the bonnet.
The newly introduced 2019 Corvette ZR1 will be pacing the 2018 running of the Indianapolis 500 race this Memorial Day weekend. The historic Indy Pace cars of the past are legendary. So this Corvette ZR1 had to be something special to play the role. It is. In fact, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 is one of the fastest production cars ever made. Its zero to 60 mph time is 2.85 seconds. That's 755 horsepower to the rear wheels, and capable of 212 miles per hour on paper. The power plant is a supercharge 6.2L LT5 small block pulling a paddle shifted 8-speed 8L90 automatic transmission. The new ZTK Performance Package features a stanchion-mounted adjustable carbon-fiber high rear wing, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and performance suspension. The stance is enhanced by chrome ZR1 aluminum wheels, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear. It is the fastest car to ever set the pace at Indy (last year's pole setting top speed was 232 mph.)

Ford announced late Wednesday that it was suspending production of all F-150s due to a major fire at a parts supplier. The fire, which took place May 2 at Meridian Magnesium Products in Michigan, crippled production on a number of critical components needed for the F-150, causing parts shortages. With production unable to continue, some 7,600 workers are facing temporary lay-offs. Ford estimates it still has an 84-day supply of F-150s in the U.S. The F-150 pickup is Ford’s most profitable and best-selling model. Production on some vehicles at General Motors, Fiat Chrysler, BMW and Mercedes-Benz was also disrupted as a result of the Meridian fire.
When a Cedarburg, Wisconsin man SOLD his 1937 Oldsmobile Business Coupe through a Run Till Sold ad on Cars-On-Line.com he was surprised at how quickly the ad works. "Your site is the best on line car market out there," Jim told us. "I have advertised twice on it and frequent it often. Keep up the good work." This art deco era coupe really looked sharp with the fender skirts. Jim knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." You'll be amazed at the vehicles SOLD thru Cars-On-Line this week. Follow this link to the SOLD section below. When you see how effective a Cars-On-Line.com ad can be, you may want to advertise your car with Cars-On-Line. Start at this link!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Mopar muscle cars from the late 1960's and early 1970's continue to be very desirable to their Baby Boomer fans. So here is a 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye just listed this week by a private seller from Seward, Nebraska. The engine is a 80's 360 that should run forever. Has a new intake and a new 650 Holley Carb. It has new tires and rims which have less then 100 miles on them. Its stance is enhanced by the updated wheels and ire size, 19" front and the backs are 21". The seller notes that it is a "driver" "not a show car." But what did you expect at this price? It will be our featurd DEAL of the DAY this week with an asking price of $18,500.
Here's an original type 1938 Dodge 5-Window Coupe, one you don't see very often at shows. Most have been turned into street rods. Not many are still in original condition. The seller from New Market, Tennessee says it has undergone a frame-up restoration. He says that includes all new rubber and glass. You have to admit it looks pretty presentable in the photos. However, only a pre-purchase inspection with detailed photos can give you an up-close look. The seller says there are less than 42k miles on this car. He notes that the paint has "minor blemishes" but "presents well." What a great find for the right buyer! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday on the front page of the COL website. The asking price is $16,900.
Beverly Hills Car Club has done it again. Take a look at this 1952 MG TD Roadster which comes in burgundy with tan interior. It shows well in the photos although we suspect it may have just come out of storage. That is the situation with many of these cars coming out of Beverly Hills and Hollywood where hot sports cars have been tucked away for lack of usage by their owners. A pre-purchase inspection would tell you alot about the condition class. They say it is equipped with a manual transmission, solid wheels with white wall tires, soft top and includes the side curtains, Tonneau cover and spare tire. Beverly Hills Car Club tells us it is an excellent weekend driver which is mechanically sound. The asking price is $14,750.
A 1955 Nash Rambler Custom Sedan looks charming in two-tone turquoise and white with grey interior. Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, Georgia tells us it is straight and solid with minor patina here and there but no known rust. You remember that the Ramler by American Motors was a smaller and less expensive alternative to the large family sedans offered by the Big Three automakers in the early 1950s. It's also lighter with better handling thanks to its innovative unibody construction. Under the hood is a 3.2 liter flathead straight six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission (another innovation ahead of its time in an era dominated by two-speed automatics or three-speed manual). They posted a video presenation as part of this ad. Click here to view the video. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this week with an asking price of $15,900.
I remember when Dodge first came out with the Rumble Bee model Ram sport trucks. They are so cool! It surprised us to realize that this 2004 Dodge Ram Rumble Bee could have dropped so much in price already. Time marches on. We think these trucks will always be collectible and feel like people who bought these special edition trucks probably tended to take care of them more. So when Classic Car Liquidators listed this one for $14,999 we looked on it as an opportunity for the right buyer to put it in his collection. It is Rumble Bee # 0157 in a limited series. It comes with tach, power windows, steering, door locks and brakes and the hood scoops. Watch for it to be our DEAL of the DAY later in the week.
If you are looking for something to tool around in this summer here is a sharp looking 2005 Harley-Davidson Softail being offered for sale by Showdown Auto in Clinton Twp, Michigan. They indicate that it has 10500 miles (just broken in.) It has the 1450 ci 88 motor, all stock, no modifications. They say it has been adult owned and meticulously kept. You should check it out. It may be the type of pre-owned Harley you've always been looking for. It does have nice accessories including factory alarm, detachable windshield and quick disconnect backrest. The best part is that they are only asking walking around money for this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $9,900.
Unique Specialty & Classics, a collector car dealer in Mankato, Minnesota, has come up with another great deal for Baby Boomer collectors. You will remember this 1951 Willys Pickup. It may inspire fond memories. Someone accessorized this one with sidemounted spare and wood rails for the bed. Check out the photos. The non-original interior needs some TLC and looks a little worn. Make your own judgement on the undercarriage. It hink the only way you can tell if it is solid is to have it inspected. You can see that the underside has surface rust at best. Does it have structural problems? Have it inspected. This one looks like it could be worth the effort. The asking price is only $14,900.
