When Dodge moved the Coronet to its luxury car lineup in 1971, the Super Bee (which had been a Coronet sub-category forever) found its place in the mid-level Dodge Charger 500 series. The sexy, curvaceous Coke-bottle body on the new 1971 Dodge Charger was a design for the ages. So the Super Bee, with its bulging hood with blackout treatment and the Super Bee symbol in a circle up in front, took it a step further. It was a look every Mopar fan could love. Throw in the new Rallye suspension, and you had a bonafide muscle car that performed.
This Hemi orange 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee represents the end of an era. Not only was '71 the last year for the 426 Hemi and the 440 Six Pack, but it was also the last year Dodge would offer the Super Bee. The Hemi Orange version you see comes from Streetside Classics' franchise dealership out of Ft Worth, Texas. They tell us it comes with "a clean, straight body clad in great looking paint; a freshly rebuilt drivetrain that runs with confidence-inspiring smoothness and power, and an interior that's in top form."
While 1970 and 1971 Chargers are too pricey for most buyers in this market, this 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee is priced at $34,995. That gives you plenty of room for appreciation in a market where Mopars are at a premium. You might consider the '71 Super Bee as one of those Mopars that you can still find at an affordable price.

Did you catch our coverage of the Pontiac Oakland Club International Convention from Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin last week? Follow this link to our ClassiCarNews site and review the photos of classic Pontiacs from the '50s, '60s and '70s. It really brought back some great memories to see all the Pontiacs (now considered orphan cars.) In all, 85 cars were there to be judged in dozens of categories. Four cars achieved 399 points out of 400. That has never happened before in POCI history. The convention was held at Chula Vista Resort, one of the big waterpark hotels there in Wisconsin Dells. What a great place to vacation and enjoy a big car show event.
The Cars-On-Line.com Car Show team will be on hand at the big Iola Car Show coming up next week. You've never seen a swap meet this big. You'd need a helicopter just to cover the acres of parts on display here. This year there will be celebrity and movie cars in their special display. They tell us "Christine" will be here. We will get some pictures for sure.
Don't forget to check the Cars-On-Line.com Car Show Calendar for all the upcoming shows, swap meets and auctions in July and August, 2018. Chances are we'll have some photos from the All Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania next week also. Early in the week, the VCCA Judging Meet will be held. Lots of high end cars will be vying for trophy status there. And you'll find mor events like these in our Car Show Calendar online.
A Chevy collector from Doniphan, Missouri was excited to tell us he had SOLD his 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo SS through his ad on Cars-On-Line.com. "Was great to share our ad for a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo with you," he wrote. "Had lots of inquiries and the right person finally came through. Very happy with the results. Would use Cars-On-Line again if the need arises." Now he knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." Follow this link to the SOLD section below. We were taking a peek at our new Market Trends Report (which we will publish next week) and discovered that classic Pontiac muscle cars were increasing in value. From the way it looks at the early returns from auctions and private sales during the past six months, average values on Pontiac muscle cars are on the increase. That's good news for car collectors who have been seeing average values flatline for the past few years. Pontiac Trans Ams have been trending higher for a couple of years now, lead by the interest in 1973-74 Trans Am Super Duty SD-455 editions and the popular Bandit Edition Trans Ams. That trend seems to be continuing. Find out how all collector cars are doing when you read our Market Trends Report in next week's Cars-On-Line.com newsletter. Will overall collector car values be up or down for the first six months of 2018? Be sure to read our Market Trends Report next week to find out.
Every car deserves a movie trailer-esque intro like this 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T gets in the ad from a seller in White Lake, Michigan. Watch it above or click here! We're told it is #1497 of only 4000 built in the GOMANGO color. It's been carefully cared for and features custom made stainless resonators for a unique exhaust note that you can hear in the video. It has all the options, including navigation and just 5,500 miles on the odometer.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Because it comes with a specially designed roof treatment which they nicknamed the "Halo" this 1971 Ford Torino 500 has a special look and performance feel. The private seller from Chatham, Illinois tells us it always draws a crowd because of this special look. In addition to the Halo roof trim, this car came with the "Springtime Option Pak" in June, 1971. He says the car runs great and has had some recent work done. The color was pewter from the factory but he says it looks much better in black. The seller really loves this car but has to sell for medical reasons. Your gain. Anyway the asking price is so affordable it makes it a no brainer. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this Saturday with an asking price of $18,500.
Here is what could be a diamond in the rough for some lucky collector. A 1966 Ambassador Cross Country Wagon is being offered for sale out of Charlottesville, Virginia. The seller says it came from an estate and is documented to be a one-owner. The undocumented mileage is said to be 32,000. The seller says it starts and runs great. This American Motors Corporation product is a shiny example of an era long gone when family transporation was represented by a station wagon. They say it was garage kept and just passed Virginia state inspection. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday because the asking price is only $9,999. This is a significant find.
What's the word? It's no surprise that Beverly Hills Car Club has come up with another Ford Thunderbird for sale. But this week they've discovered a rare 1958 Ford Thunderbird Convertible out of storage by one of their Beverly Hills clients. The 1958 convertibles are pretty hard-to-find and very desirable among T-Bird collectors. They consider it an excellent weekend driver and they say it is mechanically sound. It comes equipped with an automatic transmission, a V8 engine, air conditioning, power windows, power steering, and solid wheels with white wall tires. They say it even comes with the original owner's manual. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy, but hurry. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday with an asking price of $24,750.
Here is a very interesting listing which came in this week. A California collector is selling thi 1963 Buick Wildcat which is a 2-Door Hardtop. Now the Wildcat was a sub-series of the Invicta, sometimes called "the gentleman's hot rod" because it came with the 345 hp 401 Buick motor. The seller does not mention the engine in this car but does say that it looks like the drivetrain has never been worked on. Better ask if it the original drivetrain. If it is, this is an outstanding find. Just look at the photo of the interior. We still suggest you have it inspected before you buy, however. But hurry! This is our "sleeper" find of the week. It is a no brainer to be our DEAL of the DAY for early next week. The asking price is just $16,500.
This 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Lowrider may be a bit of a restoration project. But what a find for the right buyer. The California seller says it has new white paint, a new stereo system, new 13" True Spoke rims and 13" tires, new brakes, and 2-inch drop spindles. There are some underside suspension components chromed. Plus, he says it has new hydraulics. The interior can be viewed in the photos. It will need some work so you should have it inspected before you buy, but hurry! This is a very desirable find for the buyer who can do some of their own works. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is just $6,500.
Orlando Classic Cars has a fresh inventory this week and has come in with some pretty nice prices for very desirable collector cars. Here we have a 1994 Shelby Cobra just advertised for sale by Orlando Classic Cars. They specialize in low-mile cars, and this is no exception. They tell us this 1966 Cobra replica built in 1994 has only 700 miles on it. Powered by a 5.0 liter high output V8 engine with fuel injection teamed to a 5 speed manual transmission. They say it runs and drives great. Since Orlando Classic Cars is located near the Orlando Airport, you could fly in and drive this one home. Call for a more complete description. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is only $27,900.
What a find! A 1970 Cadillac DeVille Convertible has just been advertised for sale by a private collector in Chesapeake, Virginia. He says it runs well, has a new top with glass rear window, and has new rubber seals around top and windows. He indicates that the brakes were recently rebuilt with new master cylinder, front calipers and rebuilt rear wheel cylinders. He says the power steering has been re-sealed. These classic Cadillacs are always great investments. This one looks as though it would be worth having inspected. You may want to see more photos of the red leather interior. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $12,000.
