Here is a special edition car which has not made the car collectors' radar yet, although it may soon. In the mid-1990's Fitzgerald Motorsports in Laconia, New Hampshire collaborated with Carroll Shelby and Chrysler to produce one of the best exotic cars of all time. They called it the 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 Carroll Shelby Edition, or RT/10 CS for short. Long-time Carroll Shelby friend Dan Fitzgerald was a Dodge dealer with some pull at Chrysler. His Fitzgerald Motorsports was the nations leading seller of Dodge Vipers. His dealership would specially tune a limited edition RT/10 CS, an amazing piece of workmanship, worthy of the Shelby legend.
The 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 Carroll Shelby Edition which you see here is a fresh listing by Valenti Classics of Franklin, Wisconsin. You may view a gallery of photos at this link. Note the Italian designed, custom engineered 3-piece wheels with a CS center cap logo, windshield graphics, a 4–point street legal Schroth harness on both seats, a Shelby signed leather steering wheel and an upgraded alarm system. Carroll Shelby’s signature was also found on the glove box door, sail panel and front fender.
Fitzgerald modifications include an open Cobra-style front grille reminiscent of the classic Shelby Cobra roadster, a rear contour spoiler, a striped composite hardtop, and front and rear custom Carroll Shelby emblems.
Powered by a Lamborghini designed 8.0-liter, 10-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission, the Viper roadster gets a 35 hp performance boost with an improved rear-axle gear ratio, free-flow air cleaner and exhaust and high-performance ignition wires, all kept in line with a heavy-duty suspension. The rear axle gear upgrade to 3.73 to one was an improvement over the standard Viper 3.07 ratio.
This rare 1996 Dodge Viper Carroll Shelby Edition RT/10 is said to be No. 5 out of the 19 which were actually built. With production so limited this will be an incredible future collectible. It has a custom black interior with full leather seats embroidered with the Carroll Shelby logo in blue and white. Follow this link to MyDreamCar.online to read more about the infinite exotic car detail on this 1996 RT/10 CS. There you can join the conversation and share your Shelby stories.

Mopars were the hot sellers this week. Follow this link to the Cars-On-Line SOLD Section below. Mopars are in demand. One Mopar collector from Ellensburg, Washington is a happy man this week. He marked his 1968 Plymouth Hemi GTX as SOLD. Newsletter readers may remember when it was featured here in the newsletter. It was available for sale for some time when he reduced the price. That must have done it. Mopar buyers were probably watching our Price Reduced listings. Now this seller knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars-On-Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below. Start advertising with Cars-On-Line at this link!

Classic motorcycle collectors will be licking their lips over this 1939 BMW R-12 which has just been listed for sale by Fast Lane Classic Cars in St Charles, Missouri. Talk about a beautifully restored Pre-War Classic. They say it has the 745 cc Twin Cylinder “Boxer” 4-stroke motor, a 4-speed, shaft drive transmission, rear luggage rack, front and rear drum brakes, hard tail rear w/ sprung seat, true dual exhaust and double plate clutch. You may also be interested in a rare Pre-War 1941 Harley-Davidson WLA, also being offered for sale at Fast Lane. It is not often that motorcycles such as these are offered for sale in the public market. Be sure to check out the Cars-On-Line.com Motorcycle Section, especially the Classic Motorcycles link.
A pre-purchase inspection is an important step in making your classic car buy a successful enterprise. Cars-On-Line.com offers a service you can use anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. When you use the Cars-On-Line.com Inspection Referral Service we find local inspectors to work on your behalf to inspect and appraise the vehicle you are interested in buying.
Their careful eye for detail will give you a third party independent review. Often what they discover about your find may make you think twice about your purchase. You'll get a fully detailed report like the one seen here. Read a sample report for a 1969 Camaro Z/28. Would you buy this car?
If you are considering a classic car purchase, get started by ordering a pre-purchase inspection. That and a well written Bill of Sale are the two things which are essential in any classic car sale. The collector car market is a safer place because of the Cars-On-Line Inspection and Referral Service. This is a great hobby. Let's keep it that way.
You’ll get all the details you need on this 1969 Pontiac Firebird when you watch this week’s featured video from Hanksters.com in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Pop the hood and you’ll find a NOM 400ci YA-Code Pontiac engine — hear it roar in the video! Don’t forget to take a peek inside at the black vinyl interior. The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be offered in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page during the coming week. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Since the rebound in muscle car prices just after the 2008 recession, Mopars have been the hot trend in the collector car market. At the top of the Mopar food chain stand the Plymouth Cudas. It is rare that you would find one featured in our DEAL of the DAY, yet here one is. A 1972 Plymouth Cuda, offered for sale by a private collector in Webster, South Dakota, comes with a rust free body finished in clear coated Deep Amethyst Purple. He says the car was never rusty and wears all of its original sheet metal. What's more, the owner says it is still a numbers matching real 340 Cuda, automatic 727 slapstick, console shifted, with 3.55 Sure Grip 8 3/4 rear axle. Wow! It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price of $26,900. Don't wait. Call right away or you'll miss this one.
When a Hudson, Wisconsin collector listed his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria for sale we got pretty excited about the price. Not often will a classic 50's car this desirable come in for just $15,500. However, a word of caution, it may be a little more of a project car than it first would look. The private seller indicates that it was an older restoration and the paint needs help. He also notes another minor mechanical problem with the clutch chattering. With all that is said here you can pretty much expect that the car will need some work to make it a dependable driver. It probably needs a total restoration. But check it out. If you are a backyard mechanic it might be your entry into the collector car hobby. See it as our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday on the front page of the Cars-On-Line.com website.
If you've been watching the Barrett-Jackson Auction on TV this week you had to notice the prices they are getting for top quality classic pickup trucks. Pickups are one of the few collector vehicles trending up in value in this market. That brings me to this 1970 Chevy C-10 Pickup just posted out of Mesquite, Texas. The seller says it is a good dependable daily driver, factory short bed with power steering, power brakes, 350 ci V8, automatic transmission, aluminum radiator, and a "very straight body and solid!!" The seller says he has the air compressor to go with it even though the original air conditioning currently does not work. On Monday, it will be our featured DEAL of the DAY. The asking price is $15,500.
The Pontiac Trans Am was the last of the great performance muscle cars during the late 1970's and early 1980's. Today they are some of the best buys in the collector car market. Here is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am offered for sale by a collector from Knoxville, Tennessee. The Solar Gold Trans Am is said to be an excellent driver. The seller says it comes with new paint and graphics, clean seat covers and carpet, new sill plates, headliner, dome light, weather seals, front valance, emblem, exhaust tips, 1 new window motor, and dash cap. He says it is equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, and door locks. He does note that the air conditioning is not hooked up. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is only $10,500.
Back in the 1980's when kit cars like the Cimbria and Sterling ruled the roads out East, an American company produced a kit called the Aquila made to turn a VW chassis into a sleek exotic car. This 1980 VW Aquila is thought to be one of only 150 such cars to have been built. The body number is No. 137. Many of you have never seen one of these cars. It is being offered for sale by Streetside Classics in Phoenix, Arizona. Be sure to view the photos to see the interior. It may surprise you that a kit car could be so well appointed. It will also interest you that the engine and drivetrain are all Volkswagen, so the maintenance is super easy. But the best part is obviously the price. You can have this truly exotic car for just $17,995. Call now.
A two-tone 1959 Ford Thunderbird 2-Door Hardtop looks so distinguished in its burgundy hardtop and white body with the beautiful classic Thunderbird lines. The photos are from Carlynn Clean Classics, a classic car dealer from The Villages, Florida. Look at the stunning red and white interior. The body has great chrome and trim as well as rear fender skirts. The interior trim is nice with the two-tone red and white leather seats, power driver's seat, white steering wheel, ice-cold air conditioning, console, gauges, chrome dash, and red Ford floor mats. Be sure to contact Carlynn Clean Classics to discover more about this classic T-Bird. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later in the week with an asking price of $19,400.
Gen-Xers from the West Coast have gone bonkers over Volkswagen vans. Popular among beach bums for years within the surfing community, VW vans are now the Gen X preferred form of family transportation. A seller from Jupiter, Florida tells us his 1972 VW Transporter Van has new white PPG basecoat, clearcoat. He says it still has a rust free, solid body with no previous accidents or patch panels. Note that he confirms the mechanical condition and says it has been freshly serviced with a rebuilt carburetor, new filters and oil change. "Brakes, steering, transmission, clutch all function fine," he says. The interior is original and may need to be redone. But the price is just $14,995, making it one of next week's DEAL of the DAY cars featured on the homepage of CarsOnLine.com.
