By the mid-50's, the classic American pickup truck was evolving into something more like a passenger car with car-like performance and creature comforts. Chevrolet's contribution to that era was the unique 1958 Chevrolet 31 Cameo Carrier pickup truck. You may observe that it was way ahead of its time. Unfortunately, the '58 Cameo was the last of the breed. But for a collector today, it is a much sought after trophy.
The 1958 Chevrolet 31 Cameo Carrier was born to be a hot collectible truck. Not only was it the last year Chevrolet would produce the Cameo Carrier line, but it was the first year for Chevy Fleetside styling and the first year of the Apache package at Chevrolet. While you might see a very few 1955 Chevy Cameos around the country, you almost never see the '58 model Cameo anywhere. That's why this week we are featuring this one posted for sale by Ideal Classic Cars of Venice, Florida. They say it drives well and comes " equipped with power brakes, air conditioning, a Jensen stereo, and a Realistic Brand CB Radio." They claim, "The white and red interior is very clean, comfortable, and luxurious, just as the high-end Cameo Carrier should be. The exterior of this beautiful pickup is equally as nice, finished in two-tone Cardinal Red and Bombay Ivory accented by very nice chromework all around and a gorgeous wood bed." (Follow this link for dozens of high resolution photos.)
There is nothing hotter in today's collector car market than the classic American pickup truck. This 1958 model Cameo Carrier is a sweet ride with the right color and the right setup for any American pickup truck collector. You can see why so many collectors feel that the '58 is the most desirable Cameo to collect.

If you haven’t had a chance to peruse the latest in automotive tech at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, don't worry! You have until the 19th to head to the McCormick Place where the biggest manufacturers are displaying the best of what they have to offer, past, present, and future. Get a peek at some of what friend of Cars On Line, Doug Bennett saw on his trip to the show last weekend. Click here!
When a Canadian seller listed his rat rod on the Cars-On-Line.com website, he was surprised to find out the buyer would be from Austria in Europe. "Best bang for the buck as far as cost," he told us. He was referring to the small $45.00 cost to advertise his vintage car for sale on the Cars-On-Line.com site. "My car ended up selling to someone in Austria, so it now will have international fame..." Gerry from Williams Lake, British Columbia was happy to send his 1931 Hudson Sedan to a new home. It is amazing that the Rat Rod craze has exploded to all parts of the globe. Now Gerry and his Canadian friends know why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars-On-Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below. Then you can advertise your car with Cars-On-Line at this link!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
After 1970, Mopar styling on big muscle cars outpaced Ford and Chevy. This 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring has the curves and smoothed fenders that gave Mopar that superior styling. These cars do not yet get the respect in the muscle car market that they deserve. Here is an excellent example. This Blue metallic Sebring with the contrasting black interior is equipped with a big block 440 with only 365 miles on it. In the ad copy they say it has just 11k miles. We assume that means the actual miles on the car. Be sure to clarify that question before you buy. The seller is from Dayton, Texas. Now it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price of $19,250.
Collectors love to find original cars that have not been restored. This 1964 Mercury Monterey Convertible may fit that category somewhat. The seller, Showdown Auto in Fraser, Michigan, tells us it has been repainted but the interior is original. They say it is in shape to drive and enjoy, and that it runs and drives "great." In their ad description you'll note that the "power top works nice." They say the clock and horn are not working, while the gauge and speedometer work. In cold weather, the driver's side exhaust manifold will leak. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of just $10,900.
This flamed 1967 Chevy El Camino is a great price leader for Gateway Classic Cars in Dallas, Texas this week. I think you'll agree that it is a lot of car for the money. It fits the definition of a resto mod with all of its car-like updated features, including air conditioning, leather interior, power door locks, power windows, tilt steering, alarm system and CD player. They say it is equipped with a hopped up Chevy 383 stroker motor paired to a 700R4 overdrive transmission. It has the right amount of creature comforts to qualify it as a top street machine. Yet the price remains very affordable at just $17,995. So it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday if it lasts that long. Hurry!
I remember how excited I was when I was a teenager and my dad took me used-car hunting for an extra car I would us to drive to school. We looked at a 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible like the one you see here. Man, I would have been the coolest kid at school. (Unfortunately we ended up with a '61 Mercury Comet.) It is overlooked how popular these cars were back then. This one was listed by California Playtoys in Redlands, California. They say it is a one-owner car with matching numbers 260 ci V8 and three-on-a-tree manual transmission, power steering, drum brakes, bench seat and a power top. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $16,995.
It is fun to see how much respect classic pickup trucks are receiving in this current collector car market. Here is an opportunity to grab a three-quarter ton version 1966 Ford F250 Pickup which hasn't benefitted yet from the appreciation that half-ton pickups are experiencing. The private seller from Ceres, California says it is an original survivor. Be sure to have it inspected to get up close and personal with it. The seller says it is a perfect candidate for a restoration or just to drive it the way it is. This classic pickup will be our DEAL of the DAY this week. The asking price is $12,500.
All Cadillacs from the 1960s and 1970s are collectible. They were the dominant cars of the era. If you drove one, you got instant respect. Here is a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe which is being offered for sale by a private seller from Cape Coral, Florida. He says it is completely serviced and ready to cruise. The Biarritz was the top-of-the-line Cadillac Eldorado. The seller says this one comes with rare fuel-injection, and loaded with all options. He says it is in excellent condition, always stored in a climate controlled garage. He says everything works and has never had any rust. As a highly desriable collectible, it will be our DEAL of the DAY this week. The asking price is $12,000.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
