We've been talking about it for over a month now ... the time for the Spring Carlisle Auction has arrived, April 19-21, 2018. Click here to follow our live coverage of the event from the Carlisle Fairgrounds. The auction started yesterday and lasted well into the evening as 190 cars crossed the auction block. Our auction spotter, Bob Boberg of eClassicAuto estimted that about 60 percent of the cars sold. They announced this morning that the total sale for Thursday was $2.1 million, a new Thursday (first day) record. Late in the day the weather drove everyone into the auction tent so the crowd was excellent for a first day event. The weather should be okay for the rest of the weekend so be sure to join us here in Carlisle. The 2015 headlights are back, says AmericanMuscle.com as they published spy photos of the 2020 Shelby Mustang GT500. They noted the use of the 2015 headlights on the camoflouged 2020 GT500, indicating that Ford may return to the older style headlights which identify the more traditional Mustang look. If these spy photos are right the next generation of Shelby's might return to that more recognizable Mustang look. We always talk about how a video can sell cars better than any other media on the internet. Well here's an example. This smokin' hot 1969 Camaro Resto Mod was just listed this morning in the Cars-On-Line Camaro Section. Wanna' see something really cool? Click the video window (left). As the ad copy says, "This car is an absolute BEAST! Looks mean, sounds mean, is capable of massive burnouts.... " It won the coveted "Class Act Award" at the Good Guys Southwest Nationals. What gives it the power to do such massive burnouts? The Scottsdale, Arizona seller says it is the Supercharged 376 ci motor which produces 800 hp coupled to a 4l80E overdrive transmission and Ford narrowed 9" rear end with hardened axels. It uses an adjustable transmission computer. This is the real McCoy.

Streetside Classics in Atlanta, Georgia says all the right ingredients are there when it comes to this 1969 Camaro Z/28 Tribute. According to the ad, the muscle car tribute carries a slightly larger 350ci V8 under the hood. Inside you'll find a nicely done black and white houndstooth interior. While not perfect, this slick Z/28 tribute is ideal for cruising and having fun. See the video!

Back in the day, Yenko 427 Camaros and Chevelles were hot attractions at American drag strips across the country. The allure of building a 427 big block muscle machine is alive and well today. When we saw a 1969 Chevelle SS listed for sale this week we noticed that the private seller from Greeley, Colorado said it had a big block 427 mill. That's the cat's whiskers. Besides the 427 big block, this American muscle car also comes with a 4-speed manual transmission, line locks and cut-outs, with a 4:11 rear end. Big fun for some summer action at the track or at the shows. He notes that it is one good looking hot rod. This one will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is $24,500.

In many ways of thinking you are looking at the original American hot rod. This is a 1916 Ford Model T Speedster offered for sale by a private seller from Cortlandt Manor, New York. In order to own a "speedster" like this one back in the day you would have had to buy a "kit" through the Sears & Roebuck catalog. The body would fit onto the Model T open chassis. The speedsters were never offered as a Ford product from the factory. They were the forerunner of the American sports car, a hot rod for younger Americans. The seller does not offer the history on this one. We don't know if it was built back in the day or fashioned more recently. The seller does say that it was restored 20 years ago. What a piece of American history. You can own it for a very modest cost. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $14,500.

Beverly Hills Car Club has done it again. The Los Angeles based auto broker has come up with a 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible at a deep discount to the average selling price on these cars. First generation Firebird convertibles are one of the few collector cars that are going up in value these days. That's partly because they did not benefit from the craze in Pony cars as the Chevrolet Camaro did in the past ten years. Now they are catching up. This one is black with a white interior. It comes equipped with a non origianl 5-speed manual transmission with a V8 engine. It has aftermarket Edelbrock valve covers, Edelbrock carburetor and power steering. Beverly Hills Car Club tells us this Firebird is a clean and presentable weekend driver. Only a pre-purchase inspection would discover the condition class for sure. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday with an asking price of $27,500.

Looks like a Thunderbolt, right? This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL really looks sharp in the photos. The seller from Long Island, New York says it was completely restored 20 years ago and still looks and runs great. If you look at all the photos on the ad page (click the link) you may consider the seller is right. It has classic muscle car appeal with its 352 ci V8 Police Interceptor motor and automatic transmission. It comes with original air cleaner, valve covers and hub caps and rims. He says it has no rust issues and comes with plenty of power. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy so as to confirm that it is right for you. But it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The price is listed at $14,995.

You know how hot classic pickup trucks have gotten in this market. Everyone loves the look of the old Ford F1's. Here is a 1952 Ford F1 Pickup which was restored some years ago. The private seller from Bristol, Rhode Island tells us it runs weel and drives well. He points out that it is certainly not a showtruck, but that it is priced reasonabe to its condition class. It does have the desirable Ford Flathead V8 and the truck has been converted to 12-volt eletricals. He says the original suspension is intact with drum brakes and manual steering. Of course, there is no air conditioning. But the heat and wipers work, he notes. You should have a pre-purchase inspection on this one to confirm the condition class. But hurry! It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $11,000.

One of those muscle cars which does not get many headlines is the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. But they are very desirable in the muscle cars circles, especially when they are equipped with a big block motor. A 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo SS 454 was just listed this week. What a find. And at a very affordable price, too. The private seller is from Wingham, Ontario, Canada. This Monte Carlo SS was produced by GM of Canada and the seller says it comes with Canadian authentication. It is black on black. The interior has some custom resdesign, but there is no air conditioning. Find out more by contacting the seller through the "Hidden Email" system on the ad page. The seller says he can provide more photos of specifics on the car. What a find for any muscle car collector! It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $26,000 in U.S. currency.

The more I see of the early '50s Chevrolet cars the better they look. I guess that's one way of saying they all get better looking with age. (Wish we could say the same for ourselves.) Here is a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door from Peoria, Arizona which stands the test of time and comes out looking the better for it. The Arizona seller informs us that the odometer reads 45k miles, and he says he believes it to be accurate. You may agree when you see the photos. He says there is some "nice patina" on the car (no extra charge. ) It is a six cylinder car with a three-on-a-tree manual transmission. The seller indicates that it has a new battery and runs and drives very well. There is some oil seepage as you would expect from an original car of its age. But he stresses that it is a very solid car with what appears to be original paint and interior. I think you'll agree that this one should be our DEAL of the DAY next week. He is asking $15,500.
