Chrysler engineers took performance seriously. More so than the other Big Three car companies during the Muscle Car wars. Their finest moment was when they unveiled the 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. It may have come late to the party, but it became the Big Fish in an even bigger pond. Today they are the most valuable and desirable muscle cars from that era.
The 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda you see pictured here is a fresh listing in the Cars-On-Line.com Mopar Section. The private seller from Northford, Connecticut says it is an “all numbers matching” example with a 4-speed and the desirable Super Track Pack option. (Follow this link to see the seller’s ad and contact information.) It comes with a special visual inspection report by Galen Govier, the Mopar historian. Also included with the sale is a written report for the Galen Govier Registry. Documentation for the “born with” drivetrain includes: original broadcast sheet, original VIN plate on dashboard, original fender tag, original door VIN sticker, cowl data plate, and the VIN on the radiator support. The seller notes that the original Dana 60 rear end, original spare tire, inflator can, and jack all come with the car. He verifies that it has all original sheet metal.
The 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda just changed everything when it turned up the volume in weekend drag races that year. The 1970 E-body ‘Cuda was totally different from its forebearer, the A-body Barracuda, a variant of the Valiant. No longer was the ‘Cuda based on an economy car model. The E-body ‘Cuda was a swashbuckling muscle car, shorter but with a large engine compartment that would accomodate the 7.0L 426 Hemi engine. The look and stance of the 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda remain an iconic symbol of the whole muscle car era.
For more on the history of the Hemi 'Cuda, follow this link to the Cars On Line blogsite where you will find a feature article written about this car. Also included, are some historical data on production numbers, specs, etc. You can join the conversation by using the comments section below the article.

Linked above are the New Listings and Price Changes pages. These pages are updated in real time to include every addition to the Cars On Line.com Collector Car Market.
The Miami Herald reports that more than 70 high-dollar classic and collector cars took up residence in Gil Dezer's Porsche Design Tower ahead of Hurricane Irma. One empty penthouse held Prestige Imports' 11-car collection valued at a combined total of $25 million. The collection contained everything from a Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta to a 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback. Not every classic car could ride out the storm in the 56-story high rise though, and there's no doubt Harvey and Irma will churn out salvaged classic cars across the country in the months following relief and repair efforts. Pay close attention to the market, read up on how to identify water damaged cars, and consider a classic car inspection from a trusted inspector that will be working for you. Click here to read the original story by the Miami Herald.
Next weekend we'll have a real treat for our newsletter readers. We're off to the 2017 Wavecrest Woodie Show in Encinitas, California. The show at Moonlight Beach just off Old Hwy 101 in Encinitas will have about 300 wood bodied vehicles on display. It is sponsored by San Diego Woodies. Watch for our coverage in next week's newsletter. (Click here to see our coverage of the 2015 Wavecrest Woodie Show, including a great video feature.)
September is a big month for car shows. Click thru to the COL Car Show Calendar to find an event in your area. Get up to date on the Silver State Classic Challenge this weekend, the Charlotte Autofair coming up and the Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run, to name a few.
"Thanks again. Great service," a private collector from Boxford, Massachusetts told us when he SOLD his classic Buick Roadmaster Convertible through a $45-Run Till Sold ad here on Cars-On-Line.com. "I have an overseas commitment on my 1957 Buick Roadmaster. Appears the deal will go through." It is not surprising that collectors all around the world would be interested in this unrestored, low mileage original Buick. The seller says it retains its orignal 1957 factory paint and comes with all power options. We don't see Roadmaster convertibles come through the public market very often. Now the seller knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars On Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars On Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below.

Clones are even more difficult to value than average collector car. A prospective buyer wisely made the decision to have a professional inspector look at this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda AAR 'Cuda Clone and you'll be pleased to see what they uncovered. In addition to the inspector notes, you can see 50 of the over 150 high resolution photographs in the report. Click here to order a report on any classic car.
This is probably one of the rarest offerings ever made through Cars-On-Line.com. A private collector from Mansfield, Ohio is offering his 2009 Hurst Series 3 Challenger for sale. It was one of two promo cars buit by Hurst to promote their 2010 Hurst Challengers. The other car was white and gold. We actually saw these cars at the Barrett-Jackson Auction that year when we met with the Hurst promo people. This is a 1 of 1 because it is the black and gold version. The Hurst labeled 2011 Hurricane 48-ft trailer and a rare Hurst ACR Viper are also included in the sale. He wants to sell them as a package deal. Rare and rare.
You’ll get all the details you need on this 1969 Camaro when you watch this week’s featured video from Vanguard Motor Sales in Plymouth, Michigan. The dealership does an incredible job of presenting the Hugger Orange muscle car, taking us around, inside, and underneath for a closer look. Pop the hood and you’ll find the numbers matching 350 V8 engine, which you can see in detail in the video. Don’t forget to take a peek inside at the houndstooth interior. Visit the ad to learn more!
Video ads have become the most important development for internet sellers. Just upload your video to YouTube and we'll embed your video in your Cars On Line.com ad at no extra charge.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though. (Disclaimer: In every DEAL of the DAY listing, COL suggests each buyer should have the car inspected before purchase. Review the COL Inspection Service at this link.)
You don't often see great opportunities such as this in the public market. This week a 1971 GMC Sprint was listed for sale for just $16,900. Although it has a built 383 stroker motor which is obviously NOM, the seller from Springville, California says it is, "super clean and runs great." Newsletter readers may know that the GMC Sprint is a close cousin to the El Camino Super Sport trucks. Only they are much more rare. This one comes with automatic, air conditioning, stereo/speakers and rear air shocks. You should have it inspected before you buy ... but, if you are a collector, this one is worth checking out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday.
You've heard us talk about street rods listed at "starter car" prices that are fully complete and ready for the road? Here is a great example. A 1938 Ford Tudor Sedan was listed this week by a private collector from Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
He says it has a powerful 406 Chevrolet motor, turbo 350 transmission, 8-inch ford rear end withy 300 gears, Mustang II front end and disk brakes up front. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the price. It even has Vintage air under dash. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $28,000.
Old Forge Motorcars in Lansdale, Pennsylvania just advertised a 1967 Oldsmobile 442 Sport Coupe. Considered a tire shredding muscle car from the '60s, these 442's are highly desirable but still remain a bargain compared with their Chevelle cousins. They say the 400 motor has been professionlly built by Ecam with less than 200 miles and it comes with a 4-barrel Rochester carburetor, 400 Turbo Hydromatic transmission and a posi rear end. These 442's have more creature comforts than the Chevelles. This one has power steering, power disc brakes, factory ice cold air conditioning and new Gardner "American Made" dual exhaust. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price is $26,500. You won't find a Chevelle SS for that kind of money.
Our newsletter readers know that when a first generation Ford Thunderbird sports convertible is offered for sale for under $30,000, it probably will make our DEAL of the DAY feature. Sure enough, this week Fastlane Classic Cars in St Charles, Missouri has advertised a desirable black 1955 Ford Thunderbird for sale for just $27,500. They say it is a "great first year Thunderbird with an updated 4-speed transmission, Ford 9" rear end and a 292 ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor. And, yes, it does come with the removable hardtop. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. Hurry, and have it inspected. It may not last the weekend.
As Jay Leno always says, "every car has a story." This 1933 Plymouth PD Sedan has a great one. It was purchased new in Madison, Wisconsin. Top Notch Vehicles in Jefferson, Wisconsin tells us it was never driven in winter. By 1983 it was in the hands of a collector who really cherished this car. He had it restored and then drove it all over the country to various tours and shows where it won top awards. Turn signals have been added and it has been converted to a twelve volt system. For a full report on this impressive PD sedan follow this link to the Top Notch Vehicles ad. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with a price tag of $11,995.
Here is a refreshing difference from all the T-Buckets we see in the collector car market. A 1923 Ford Tall T Altered was listed for sale by a private seller from Sicklerville, North Carolina. You'll be impressed with this little hot rod, both with the undercarriage photos and the interesting custom build with flames. The list of custom mods and performance upgrades is endless. The interior looks nice and the seller says it has recently been painted and freshened up. It is encouraging that you can still buy a car that looks this good for a very affordable price. This one will be our DEAL of the DAY for the right buyer. The asking price is $16,000.
A 1965 Buick Gran Sport was listed this week by a private seller from Standish, Michigan. It is a very rare 2-door post Skylark GS. He says it has 40,000 actual miles and was originally a western vehicle with very dry and clean floors and trunk. He does not that it has " typical dry rot on some seals and interior." He also notes that it drives like a low miles car and tracks straight on the highway. It "can be daily driven or restored back to new with no major repair," he writes in the ad. He adds that it has "cold factory air." It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $12,500.
