One of the finest classic motorcars to survive the pre-war era has been posted on the Cars-On-Line.com website this week. You would expect a car of this quality to compete in the Pebble Beach Concours. The 1937 Packard Twelve Roadster Coupe is viewed by many expert collectors as the finest American automobile ever manufactured in the U.S. This was the 15th Series Packard Twelve which came with Safe-T-Flex independent front suspension, four-wheel vacuum-assisted hydrauic brakes and a synchromesh transmission. Of all the pre-war Packards, this one was the most fun to drive.
The 1937 Packard Twelve Coupe Roadster featured here is offered for sale by Daniel Schmitt & Company out of their St Louis auto gallery. It is finished in one of the most stunning color combinations of the day: Classic Rich Loam Light Gold with a gorgeous Sable Brown leather interior and matching convertible top. (See dozens of photos displayed at this link.) It was delivered new in Hollywood, California, and to this day, it still retains its original firewall data tag. Just released from long-term ownership in a private collection, this car will be fresh on the market.
The options on this 1937 Packard Twelve Roadster Coupe include: dual sidemount spares; rumble seat with assist steps; luggage rack with factory Packard trunk; spot lamp, Trippe Safety Lights; and whitewall tires. Notice the "golf club compartment" just behind the passenger door, a special touch for exclusive clientele.
Under that long front hood is a V12 side-valve engine which is remarkable for how powerful and smooth it runs. During those pre-war years written about by so elequently by F. Scott Fitzgerald in "The Great Gatsby", the Packard L-head V12 was considered faster than the V-16 Cadillacs and Pierce Arrows. This L-head 473 ci V12 was recently reuilt by an expert craftsman.
For more history and production numbers on the 1937 Packard Twelve Roadster Coupe follow this link to the Cars-On-Line.com blog page. While there, you can add your own stories or memories in the comments box below the article. Linked above are the New Listings and Price Changes pages. These pages are updated in real time to include every addition to the Cars On Line.com Collector Car Market.
Every year at this time collectors from cold weather climates begin thinking about putting their cars into storage for the winter. But many will opt to just sell their cars to avoid the hassle. We are seeing a lot of those "seasonal sellers" listing their cars at reduced prices just to sell before the cold weather comes. We want to remind our readers that this is a great buying opportunity.
For whatever the reason, this week we have seen some pretty choice cars being offered at great prices. The 2007 Shelby GT500 posted here is being offered for just $27,500 by a couple in Maryland. Producing over 500 horsepower, the 4L 32-valve Supercharged V8 engine is backed up by a manual 6-speed transmission. They say the car has been meticulously kept by its adult owner.
Hennessey Performance has announced their new Venom F5 will be unveiled at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas next month. The new Venom will be seen for the first time by the public at the Shell Pioneering Performance Pavillon on November 1. If you aren't there yet on that Wednesday morning, don't worry. The whole show will be streamed live on You Tube. They say it will happen around 11 AM that day. We hope they will also have the 2017-2018 version of the Hennessey VelosiRaptor 6X6 at SEMA. This "over-the-top" 4-door truck with 6X6 locking rear axles is upgraded with Fox suspension, upgraded 20-inch wheels and off-road tires, special front and rear bumpers, rollbar and LED lights. HPE will also be offering its VelociRaptor 600 twin turbo upgrade for the 6X6 for owners seeking more power and performance.
We met John Hennessey at a Barrett-Jackson Auction some years ago. Ever since, we have been following his incredible performance Vipers and Camaros. His race team just about "owns" the title of "world's fastest" cars. Stay tuned to this newsletter for more from Hennessey.
People ask us why our website is still running strong after 23 years on the internet. We figure the answer is a very simple one. "Because Cars On Line ads work." Thomas from Raleigh, North Carolina confirmed that for us this week. "GREAT SERVICE!!!" he emphasized in his follow up with us after his sold his 1966 Corvette Big Block Convertible with a Cars On Line $45.00 Run Till Sold ad. The 427/425 hp Stingray with a 4-speed and sidepipes was described as a very original, low mileage, numbers matching muscle car. And it was priced right for this market. "SOLD".
Now Thomas knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars On Line."
An incredible number of cars were SOLD this week here on the Cars On Line website. We've never seen so much action in October before. To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars On Line, follow this link to the SOLD section below.

You absolutely NEED to use a bill of sale when buying or selling a classic car. Whether you're getting a car from your next door neighbor or dealing with someone across the country, you can utilize this simple document to protect yourself. We've had a rash of calls recently from people who have purchased cars off other websites and had problems when the car arrived ... or, in one case, when the car never arrived. Two tools which you should arm yourself with are 1) a pre-purchase inspection, 2) a Bill of Sale describing how the sale should go down.
So what is a bill of sale? We'll tell you, and include some helpful tips for making sure you're using this document to its full potential in our How-To Blog here.
A rare and desirable 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger in B5 blue has been offered out of a collection from the Seattle area. The collector notes that only 433 Daytona Chargers were built with the 440 Magnum, with 294 of those equipped with the Torqueflite automatic transmission. This special order car is one of 21 in B5 blue. The owner says it runs and drives great. Read the entire ad to find out more specifics about which plant this one was built at and documentation that goes with the car. All of the special order codes are revealed. This one might be considered a survivor. You can call or email for more information.
A new classic car dealer from Boca Raton, Florida has joined the Cars On Line Dealer Network this week. We invite our readers to check out Show Cars of Boca Raton, located at 16th Street just off 2nd Avenue. You can find their website at this address: showcarsofbocaraton.com
They are into a varied inventory which includes classic cars, hot rods, resto mods and muscle cars. They write in their promo, "Whether you are looking for an entry level classic or rare car, you can depend on us for convenience, quality and honesty." Among their current inventory this week they have listed this beautiful 1982 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible. Show Cars of Boca Raton tells us it is a Mulliner Park Ward Edition which runs and drives excellent. Powered by a 6.75L Rolls Royce engine and automatic transmission, it is listed as having only 56k original miles. You will find more listings from Show Cars of Boca Raton in the New Listings below.

A very hard classic car to find, this Turquoise 1958 Edsel Citation Convertible, comes with its big block 410 ci V8 engine. They say this one is an original California car. The description says it has power steering, power brakes and power windows. That's pretty impressive for 1958. This looks to be one of the headliners at the Hoosier Classic this year. You can see more photos at the link above.
More than just a replica, this is an actual factory 1970 Boss 302 Mustang modified in performance and looks to racing spec. It replicates the 1970 Boss 302 which won the SCCA Trans Am championship that year. It was an actual Grabber orange Boss 302 from the factory. They say it is ready for street or track. It has the front spoiler and rear window slats. The suspension has been modified for racing and it comes with Koni shocks. It will be Lot # 156 on Saturday next week.
A rare DeTomaso Pantera comes with the after-market GT5 kit with ground effects and wing. When the Pantera production was ended there were a certain number of the GT5 kits available as aftermarket add-ons. They say there are just 25k actual miles on this car and comes equipped with air conditioning and power windows. It will be Lot # 154 on Saturday.

A private seller out of Larkspur, Colorado just listed this 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible Tribute for sale. According to the ad, the supercharged muscle car was built for road race tracks and drag racing. It's described as the "perfect car to run in the Hot Rod Power Tour." See the ad for more!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though. (Disclaimer: In every DEAL of the DAY listing, COL suggests each buyer should have the car inspected before purchase. Review the COL Inspection Service at this link.)
Although our featured DEAL of the DAY this week may be somewhat of a project/race car, it is the power driver in our offerings this week. The seller, from Hamburg, Arizona, says his 1972 Chevy Nova SS is in excellent condition. He does not use a lot of photos in his ad so you may want to ask for more closeup, high resolution photos. He says the engine is strong and new; the intrior is "all new" he says. It comes equipped with a roll cage. You need to call to find out if this is a "full on" race car, or if it fits the mold of a Pro Street. But the price is right to be our top bargain priced car this weekend. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is only $19,700.
A 1960 Buick LeSabre Convertible such as this one from Gullwing Motor Cars in New York is very hard to find in this market. In fact, Buick collectors will tell you they are among the most rare factory production cars Buick ever made. This one is the very popular red color with white interior. It has the standard 364 ci V8. They say that only 14,000 convertibles were ever produced. This one has power brakes as well as power steering. It was considered a luxury convertible in its day. You'll be the only one in your area to have one. We will make it our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $27,500.
Don't get me wrong, here. Edsels are by nature very rare classic automobiles. But the rarest of all Edsels is the 1958 Edsel Roundup Station Wagon. The Edsel was Ford's attempt to feature radical styling for its time. Unfortunately, the Edsel was never gained popularity with the buying public. In spite of the fact that this is a 2-Door wagon, the Roundup was especially unappreciated. But today they are highly desirable to Edsel collectors. They say only 963 of these unique 2-door wagons were sold in 1958 making them the most rare of the five station wagon models produced by Edsel. This may be a diamond in the rough. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price is $19,999.
A 1970 AMC Javelin is being advertised for sale by North Shore Classics in Mundelein, Illinois. It has a 304 V8 motor with aluminum intake and Edelbrock carburetor. Equipped with an automatic transmission, it sports new Strange rear axles, new KYB shocks, new brakes and brake lines. They say it has about 74k miles showing on the odometer. Not a perfect car, but it looks really good in the video they produced. (Click here to review the video walk-around.) The red exterior was repainted in 2012; black/red interior shows well. The seats were reupholstered about 3 years ago (2014). The carpet has also been replaced. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is only $16,900.
With the double bullet front grille and tons of chrome the 1953 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan made a big impression wherever it went. Even as these cars became used cars over the years they maintained their status. People thought you were a doctor or a lawyer when you drove one of these. This one is a beautiful original example and previous Car Show winner! It runs a completely stock 331 V-8, automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes, factory Skirts and Autronic Eye. Beautiful Chrome and Stainless, Glass, Trim, Rubber, etc... A pleasure to drive. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $19,950.
Here is a fresh listing from Vegas Classic Muscle Cars out of Henderson, Nevada. It is a 1936 Nash Series 400 Sedan, the first car to offer an all steel body with a seamless steel top. Look it up on Google. This is a nice representation of this famous car. It still has a 250 ci Inline 6-cylinder engine, 4-speed manual transmission and suicide rear doors. Notice the original style wheels and hubcaps. The brown interior is noted in the photos. You would not expect a car this important to be featured here in the DEAL of the DAY. But the price is so right we had to feature it here. They are asking just $19,995.
A private seller from Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, Canada is looking to sell his 1967 Mustang Convertible. Yes, it is a collectable convertible. This one, though, came equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine. The seller suggests that you might want to buy the car and swap motors for a V8. It comes with a power top, new seat covers, new floor rug, new floor panels, new inside door inserts, new door and window handles, new hydraulic rams for the power top, new gas tank, new door and window rubbers, new window regulator and new kick plates. If you are willing to take on this project, you can buy it now for $18,000. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later this coming week.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
