This week, a West Coast classic car dealer listed a muscle car for sale ... one that will send ripples through the collector car market. A jaw-dropping, triple black 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 Convertible earns our respect. Specialty Sales Classics in Benicia, California makes it seem even better with their pitch for the provenance of this rare Chevrolet muscle car.
To say this 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 Convertible is ultra rare is probably an enormous understatement. "Overall, this monster Super Sport Convertible is one of the most impressive examples we’ve seen in decades," Specialty Sales Classics will tell you. "While there’s really no such thing as a 'perfect' investment grade classic, this amazing automobile comes exceedingly close in every imaginable way. You must see it for yourself in person before it’s off the open market for good." They say there are only 415 miles on the car since the nut and bolt restoration.
The big block 454/450 hp motor was arguably the most powerful engine ever created during the muscle car wars of the late '60s and early '70s. The incredible rumble created by this engine is unmistakable. The resonance of the dual exhaust reminds you of the days when the muscle car wars were played out on drag strips all over the U.S. and Canada. The current owner has placed it on consignment with Specialty Sales Classics. He says the 454 LS6 engine is numbers matching and documented by Classic Auto Appraiser, a California based appraisal service. The drivetrain has been overhauled from the ground up and built to strict authenticity. They say "this beautiful muscle car is one of the nicest original examples you’ll find anywhere."
On closer look at this Super Sport Convertible, the exterior would come in at near #2 condition, Specialty Sales Classics wrote in their description. They say the laser-straight body panels line up flawlessly. The chrome bumpers, cowl induction, front grille and trim work are also unblemished with almost no discernable signs of wear.
You can read the whole story on our MyDreamCar.online website, where we will include more photos and a video of the impressive 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 Convertible. How rare is it? There will be a discussion on production numbers on these rare cars. You can join the discussion by using the Comment box at the bottom of the page.

Hope you had a chance to review our live coverage of the Daytona Turkey Run 2017. It was the last big car show for this year. And it was a great way to wrap up an incredible Car Show Season. Held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, it is billed as the largest combined Car Show and Swap Meet in the world. Bob and Donna Boberg of eClassicAutos.com covered the event for us. Follow this link to view the photos and videos from last weekend's show. After dodging rain storms for the first two days of the event, Saturday and Sunday were beautiful and we got some great photos of some Southeastern rods and customs. Be sure to view the video interviews. You won't believe some of the Rat Rods that appeared at the show.
Wait till you see what SOLD this week on the Cars-On-Line.com website. A seller from New York did a smart thing when he lowered his price. The car SOLD immediately.
Leonard from Glen Park, New York said, "I had many phone calls on my 1955 Chevy Nomad from people seeing it on Cars-On-Line. After I reduced the price, it SOLD to a guy in Kentucky."
Now Leonard knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars-On-Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below. Start advertising with Cars-On-Line at this link!

When talking about a Chevy Impala it is rare that you can string together the tagwords "SS" "409" and "convertible" all in one phrase. These cars are not that common anymore, and a 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 Convertible is so popular we seldom have the opportunity to feature one in the newsletter these days. But this week Flemings Ultimate Garage in Rockville, Maryland gave us that chance. We knew we had to feature it here. They say it has just 42,210 original miles. What a find! Be sure to view the high resolution photos to see interesting shots of the Hurst shifter and snorkel air breather. The '63 is often considered the peak year for the Impala 409. Watch Tony Fleming run through some of the 409 only items in this informative "walk-around video. That brushed aluminum rear valance is so sweet. S-S-S-S-S-S ... Hurry and contact them on this one.
The Winter 2017 Raleigh Classic Auction in Raleigh, North Carolina is coming up next week, December 8-9, 2017. Register to bid now, and then make your way to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. The folks at Raleigh Classic Car Auctions work hard to offer rare and interesting vehicles. Take a peek below at some of the cars crossing the auction block next week.
This 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 Convertible is so rare (see feature story above) that this is the first time we've seen one at an auction in the past year. Never before has Cars-On-Line had two for sale in one issue of our newsletter. With a recent full restoration taken to the bare frame, this beauty has been rebuilt to Chevrolet specifications documented with the build sheet with all correct factory markings. If you preview the cars on December 8, you'll see it has the M22 “Rock Crusher” 4- speed transmission, bucket seats with console, cowl induction hood and tilt steering wheel.
A rare survivor, this 1931 Buick Series 60 Sport Roadster has been cherished and cared for its entire life. It was in the same family for 40 years. It was highly original when purchased and has been maintained that way ever since. The Buick 8 starts easily, idles quietly and hits the road with plenty of smooth power. This jewel, after 40 years of careful ownership and 86 years of service, is truly one of the rare ones and ready to be driven and enjoyed by its new owner. The beautiful wooden wheels are original and the tasteful spare tire cover matches the top and is mounted behind the rumble seat. The chrome, trim and glass are in fine original condition and the paint retains a fine finish.
This peace of automotive jewelry has never been offered for sale at auction. The 1960 Cadillac Convertible has had one previous California owner. It has just won the AACA Junior, AACA Senior and National Cadillac “Best of Show” trophies. The car is fully optioned including very rare factory air conditioning, power windows, power seats, power steering, power brakes, power top and rare factory power trunk closer. It is an actual mileage vehicle that has had a recent frame off restoration at a cost in excess of $130,000. All documentation accompanies purchase as well as the AACA awards which have never been installed on the grill.
Another rare Chevelle, a 1969 COPO Chevelle factory muscle car, will be in a new collection as of December's Raleigh Classic Auction. Verified by Ed Cunnen of “The COPO Connection," it is the legendary L72 425 example that has had a recently completed show-winning restoration. Equipment and options include the factory M-22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed transmission, Harrison 3-core radiator and great sounding chambered dual exhaust with RPO NC8 chambered exhaust pipes optionally available. All these COPO cars included the special heavy-duty rear axle with special heat treated 4:10:1 gears and positraction. According to experts, only approximately 350 COPO Chevelle’s were ever built.

Mark your calendars! The Winter Raleigh Classic Auction is one of our favorites. For many years it was one of the best kept secrets in the collector car hobby. Many of the vehicles up for auction are low mileage, unrestored vehicles in original or mint condition. What's more, the prices are usually pretty affordable.
There's only three others like this one according to Flemings Ultimate Garage of Rockville, Maryland. It's a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang and features a 4.30 "Drag Pack," factory race upgrades, and an original matching Boss 302 Short Block inBox. It's loaded with factory options and set up for Trans Amvintage racing with all the best parts, but still retains its original matching parts in labeled boxes. Watch it in the video here! You'll get a better look at the woodgrain interior and factory gauges too. It comes with good documentation, including an original build sheet and dealer invoice.

How about a $26,000 reduction on a 1969 Mustang Mach 1? A private seller in Monroe, North Carolina just drastically reduced this desirable muscle car from $125,000 to $99,500. It's wearing its original color combination of Acapulco Blue with a Black Clarion knit comfort weave interior. We're told it remains in Concours quality and comes with documentation from Marti Auto Works as well as an original factory invoice and window sticker. It has a 4-speed top loader transmission, AM radio, tinted glass, and low mileage. Just 64,000 miles according to the ad. Considering the reduction, this one is certainly worth another look. Check it out here!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. These deals have been getting better and better each week as the collector car market goes "to sleep" for the winter. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
"Clone" means it is not a born with 442, but it is not priced like one either! We are talking about a 1970 Oldsmobile Convertible which has been painstakingly rebuilt to look like a real 442 convertible. The seller says it is now a superly optioned 350, 4 barrel Rocket motor with W-25 Oai Induction hood, Hurst dualgate shifter, optioned with air conditioning, tilt wheel, sport wheel, Rallye pack gages, (tac not installed) power driver's seat, power windows, power door locks, power trunk, Original AM/FM stereo, super rare "Night Watch." He says he purchased this car from the gentleman who owned it for the past 35 years. They say this car will not let you down. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price of just $23,500.
Studebakers are so hot in this market, they are always on our Top Ten most popular among all classic car makes. The reason is because every Studebaker collector wants a '50s Hawk model. This 1959 Studebaker Silver Hawk is priced very attractively. The private seller from Abingdon, Virginia says it comes with a 259 V8 with a 3-speed manual with overdrive. It comes with a beautiful cfream exterior and factory blue interior. He says all chrome has been redone, he says the car runs and drives like new. He indicates it is an original Nevada car with a rust free body and approximately 780 miles on the car. You may want to ask him if that means the miles are original or miles since a rebuild. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday priced at just $26,000.
Southern Motors in Clarkston, Michigan just posted anice deal on a 1971 Dodge Charger 500. Remember, Dodge Chargers are always the most popular vehicles in our montly Top Ten Muscle Cars reports (see this most recent report from the October 26, 2017 newsletter.)They say it is a clean Virginia car, with beautiful factory dark green metallic, green vinyl interior, black vinyl top & striping, matching numbers 383 ci/300 hp engine, Holley dual feed 4 bbl, Edelbrock Torker aluminum intake, factory exhaust manifolds, MSD Pro Billet distributor, power steering, power front disc brakes. Be sure to view this walkaround video by Southern Motors. On Monday it will be our DEAL of the DAY. The asking price is $25,900.
Just a daily driver type car to be sure, but Lonestar Classic Motors in Richmond, Texas has listed this 1970 Mach 1 Mustang for sale at a very affordable price. They say "she is powered by a strong running 351 Ford motor and FMX automatic transmission; nice clean body on the car with nice paint. Has power disc brakes up front, 4-barrel carb, Magnum 500's rims wrapped with new BF Goodrich Radial TA's white letter tires. Check the ad description with a list of options that come with. These Mach 1 Mustangs are becoming more desirable in the collector car hobby. This one is priced at only $28,000.
The body style on the 1957 Packard Clipper saw a total restyling for the new "forward" age of the post-war 1950's in America. Even the colors signaled change with this beautiful teal and white two tone as an example. It is being presented here by Gateway Classic Cars of Houston, Texas. In the ad, they say, "Powering this beauty down the road is its original 289 CiD V8 that runs strong & healthy throughout the power band and sounds great out of the dual SS exhaust. It is paired to a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts firm but with ease. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week wtih an asking price of $24,995.
The cosmopolitan styling on this 1950 Lincoln Sport Sedan made it a "rich peoples" favorite, and with the "suicide style" back doors it looked like a limousine. This one is being offered by a private seller from Ceres, California. He says it is a "good running, nice appearing Lincoln. Car is stock and in good condition. Features pretty two-tone paint and nice upholstery. Engine runs very smooth. New heavy-duty 6-volt battery. Transmission had been upgraded to a hydra-matic dual range selection." Be sure to call to ask more about this particularly interesting and rare sport sedan. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. It can be yours for as little as $15,000.
We consider classic Corvettes to be the "Gold Standard" among collector cars. Corvette muscle cars are especially desirable among collectors. So it is not often we see them in our DEAL of the DAY feature. But here one is. A 1972 Corvette with T-bar and 350 small block Chevrolet engine has been listed by Gateway Classic Cars in Nashville, Tennessee. Call Gateway to get their latest information on this very recent acquisition. They do not have their description posted yet. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the money. Their asking price is $27,995.
Often there are more cars that deserve to be in the DEAL of the DAY than we can schedule for our front page feature. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY this week. Remember, you saw them here first:
