If it had not been for the COPO Camaros in 1969, there would not have been a Super Car era in classic Camaro history. But when Don Yenko used a special Fleet order work-around through Chevrolet, the Central Office Purchase Order (COPO) system opened the floodgates for Yenko, Fred Gibb Chevrolet, Nickey Chevrolet, Berger, Dana and Baldwin-Motion to order special 427 big block Camaros from the factory that even Chevrolet never dreamed of.
Today a private collector from Boise, Idaho is offering one of these special COPO Camaros for sale on Cars-On-Line.com. The Lemans blue 1969 COPO Camaro L72 427 went from a barn find in Wisconsin to one of the highest scoring show cars in the world. It retains an original 512 block, original code BE rear end, and shows 95,047 original miles. The seller says there are only 26 miles on the car since the restoration. In his description, he says it has been restored to "concours quality".
The restoration was performed by Custom Classics and authenticated by world-reknowned Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish. He certified that this was a true COPO, gave advice, and was involved in sourcing parts during the 3-year restoration. After the car was completed Jerry was hired to inspect the final product. It has been IAAA Certified with appraisal and authentication by the MacNeish company, CAMARO HI-PERFORMANCE, INC.
The 1969 COPO Camaro L72 427 was shown at the 2009 and 2010 American Camaro Bowtie Class Nationals. In June of 2010, it scored a Gold Award with 991 out of 1000 points. It also has achieved a Concours Gold Certificate from the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in 2009. In March 2010, Jerry MacNeish gave his ultimate blessing by presenting the car with the Camaro High Performance Inc, Certificate of Authenticity. These are not given out capriciously. All awards and documentation are included with the car.

While celebrating classic Cadillacs as the featured marque this year at the Hillton Head Motoring Festival, a 1934 Cadillac Victoria V16 Convertible Coupe was selected as this year's Hilton Head Concours Best of Show. They say this is a one-of-one specially ordered Victoria. A friend of Cars-On-Line.com, Bob Boberg of eClassicAutos.com, captured the Concours D'Elegance for his website. Follow this link to see photos, slide shows and videoes of the event. The show is held each year at the Port Royal Golf Club on Hilton Head Island.
In his article, Bob wrote: "Now in its 16th year, The Hilton Head Motoring Festival (HHMF), which has become one of the most anticipated events on the Island, begins with the Savannah Speed Classic in Savannah, Georgia and culminates with the Car Club Showcase and Concours d'Elegance." For the true collector this is a bucket list event.
The big 44th Annual Daytona Turkey Run is set to start again this year on Thanksgiving Day and run through Sunday, November 26th. It is the largest combined car show and automotive swap meet in the country. Every year it happens on Thanksgiving week at the Daytona International Speedway, home of NASCAR.
“We are thrilled to be able to present an affordable event with something to see and do for everyone in the family,” Barbara Kelly, General Manager of the Daytona Turkey Run, told us. In addition to the giant swap meet and car show areas, TV personality Brett Wagner “Big Schwag” from Monster Garage will be on hand to sign autographs on Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th from 10am-4pm. There will be a Craft Beer tasting event for Dad. And the youngsters will enjoy the Little Gobler Play Zone. A special Rat Rod display will be featured all weekend. They are also honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Camaro with a featured display.
Cars-On-Line will be there covering all the action for our newsletter readers. Be sure to watch for our blogs live from the Turkey Run all weekend. Our readers will be treated to photos and videos from the event on Facebook and Twitter.
"I LOVE YOUR SITE !!!!!!!!!" That's what Michael emailed in after SELLING his 1978 Lincoln Mark V using our $45.00 Run Till Sold ad. The Delmar, Delaware native had a choice, low-miles Lincoln luxury car to sell. This one had only 8,650 miles. On some websites it may not have gotten much attention because it was a 1978. But here on Cars-On-Line.com our readers know a great value when they see one. The black over Chamois color is so sharp and Michael told us it was still "fresh out of the wrapper." Once he put it on Cars-On-Line.com ... SOLD! Now Michael knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars On Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below. Start advertising with Cars-On-Line at this link!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Certainly not a stock original car, but who cares? This 1967 Dodge Coronet is a fun car to drive and enjoy. The seller from Sarasota, Florida tells us it is a total restoration with Arctic White paint and a red vinyl interior. The Coronet 440 model is now outfitted with a 360 ci V8, 883 4-speed with a 23-spline 355 posi-traction rear end. You can see the custom "breather" sticking out of the hood. The seller wants you to note the chrome alloys with radial tires. This one will sell fast. It will be our first DEAL of the DAY feature this week. See it on the front page of Cars On Line this Saturday. The asking price is $19,900.
You've heard it said here many times. We always say, "If you find a first generation Ford Thunderbird for $30,000 or under ... buy it." In most cases it holds true that a nice driver quality early Ford T-Bird is a very popular collector car to own. Always consider the condition class when applying this rule, however. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird listed for sale by Gateway Classic Cars in Denver, Colorado is one of those to look at. They say it was "rebuilt" in 2012. You'll have to ask them what work was done at that time. If it was a cosmetic restoration, it sure looks good in the photos. In fact, it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $30,595. Make them an offer.
We got an email from Brandon Classics, a collector car dealer on St Simon's Island, Georgia. They wanted us to know they just listed a 1966 Ford F100 Flare Side Shortbox. This one is really special, according to their email. And you can see the price is really right at just $18,900. It has a Mustang II front end and really looks sharp in the photos. And you'll love the Big Block 454 truck engine which they say has been rebuilt by Jasper with only 1,800 miles on the redo. The engine has a V-Tech front runner pulley setup, Edelbrock intake &
750 CFM carb, headers, high volume water pump and lots of billet. It will be a DEAL of the DAY feature ad on the front page of Cars-On-Line.com early next week.
Here's one you don't see everyday. A private seller from Lehighton, Pennsylvania has a 1961 Willys 4X4 Wagon he wants to sell. The seller says he bought it in Florida and drove it home, about a 1,200-miles trip. He says it has no rust, nice shiny paint and has been completely gone through. According to his ad copy, it has new axle seals, a recent engine swap and lots of extra parts. He says it runs and drives almost like a new vehicle. He is also considering trades. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this coming week with an interesting price. You can own this one for $13,800.
Although a 1953 Chevrolet 4-Door Deluxe is not on the hot list of popular collector cars, this one is the exception. The private seller from Oak Harbor, Washington says that this 4-door Chevrolet has been a "stunning example of a car cared for since new." He says it has just 55,000 original miles and is a one-owner car. It even comes with its original 6-cylinder and 3-on-a- tree manual transmission, according to the ad copy. "The interior does not even appear to be sat in," he says. The list of new replaced parts is availalbe in the ad. He says there is "no rust" on this car. That makes it worthy of a DEAL of the DAY feature spot on Cars-On-Line
Our last DEAL of the DAY feature for next week is for a 1972 Camaro from a private seller in Mesquite, Texas. It has a strong 1970 350 o1o block, aluminum intake, tachometer, and working gauges, even the gas gauge! You can see it from almost every angle in the SLIDE SHOW ad. The seller says it's showing its age in places but you can judge for yourself. The price is right, at just $14,500. Don't miss this one!
