Known as the muscle car with infinite trim packages and high impact colors, the 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T was the luxury muscle car of the Scat Pack. It was designed to be the a favorite of a younger and hipper generation. Too bad the E-body Mopar came along so late in the muscle car era. But that is why they are so rare today.
A Mopar collector from Walkerton, Indiana listed his 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T in the COL Mopar Section. With zero miles on it since the restoration, it is a trailered show car. Ken Mosier's shop, Finer Details, did the restoration. It has won First Place at the Mopar Nationals; Concourse Gold at the Muscle Car Nationals; Best of Show at Monster Mopar Weekend; and was chosen by Chrysler Corp. to be featured in the Chrysler Display at SEMA. It has been in the same family since 1981. So this is a fresh entry into the collector car market.
The Hemi orange Mopar still features its original sheet metal, and comes with the Super Track Pack option, including the Dana 4.10 rear end, and a black interior. There were 356 Hemi Challengers produced altogther. But this is one of only 137 R/T hardtops which came from the factory with the E74 Hemi V8 and a 4-speed manual transmission. In concours No. 1 condition a Hemi Challenger like this one can go for as much as $268,000, according to Hagerty Insuance company.
In 1970, if you ordered the new E-body Challenger with the R/T package and an E74 Hemi V8, you also had to order the A34 Super Track Pak option package. It included the 4.10 geared Dana rear end, Sure Grip differential, seven-blade fan, a HiPo radiator with fan shroud and power disc brakes. Road Test Magazine said the Hemi R/T Challenger would do zero to 60 mph in six seconds, and run a quarter-mile in 14 seconds at about 104 mph.
From what the owner tells us, this is a serious muscle car for a top collection. You will find such cars in the Cars On Line Mopar Muscle Car Section online.

We have to tell you about our experience attending the races at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin this past weekend. It was just as exciting going to Road America this weekend as it was when we were teenagers. Some great events just get better with age.
In the evening we went into the tiny village of Elkhart Lake to see a small local concours where cars were on display on the downtown streets. Our fans could not believe it when we posted this photo of a 1968 Camaro Z/28 Convertible which showed up for the concours. It is the only one ever built and was made for Pete Estes, GM's general manager at the time. Read our feature story on our Blog page from last weekend to see more amazing cars from this little local car show.
Our point is, check out the car shows in your area. You never know what you might find. Here is a link to our Cars On Line Car Show Calendar. It is a great place to start.
We love to hear from our advertisers when they sell their cars and trucks. Here is a note from a seller who listed his 1934 Ford Model 40 with a Run Till Sold ad. "Service was great. You can't beat it! Thanks for a great job!" John from Seymour, Connecticut wrote. John had a great car to sell, and he priced it right for this market. Plenty of power in this street rod and it has a modern drivetrain. You can see why it sold quickly. Now John knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell through Cars On Line." To view more vehicles marked SOLD Thru Cars On Line this week, click this link.

Cloud 9 Classics has an absolutely gorgeous, professionally restored 1937 Chevy 5-Window Coupe in video this week. We're given an excellent tour of the car and given the opportunity to get an idea of what it'll be like getting behind the wheel. You can hear the built 350 V8 at work too. Features include shaved suicide doors, near flawless black paint, original steel engine covers, Turbo 400 auto, and a clean undercarriage that you can see at the end of the video, or in the dozens of photographs included in the ad.
Video ads have become the most important development for internet sellers. Just upload your video to YouTube and we'll embed your video in your Cars On Line.com ad at no extra charge.

A fairly inexpensive restoration is all it will take to get this 1970 Dodge Super Bee shining again. The seller in Tulsa, Oklahoma says it has some dings and dents to address, as well as a small amount of rust on the bottom of the lower quarters that will be easy to repair. If you're looking for an easy project to keep busy in the garage with for a bit, this could be it! The Cars On Line Inspection Service is available if you have more questions.

There's plenty to love about this 1966 Corvette Coupe from a private seller in New Mexico. Let's start with an L72 427ci 425 horsepower engine, a Trophy Blue exterior with blue leather interior, a shockingly low 34,000 original miles, and new NOS correct hubcaps. We're told the drivetrain and underbody are carefully preserved and restored per NCRS and GM assembly manuals. It was listed at $120,000, but is now just $96,100! That's a $23,900 reduction!

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY front page feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Sometimes you just wanna' drive something fun! So here comes a 1969 Corvette Pro Street with enough personality to put a smile on your face while you're shredding tires. The seller from Center Valley, Pennsylvania says it is in excellent condition, and comes with "a built 350 motor .30 over, TH400 transmission, 2500 stall converter, Ford 9" Rear with 4:11 gears, 4-link coilovers ..." He says it has been professionally tubbed, and has award winning custom paint. It has a custom interior and sidepipes. He says it "looks, runs and drives excellent." We have it as our top DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The price is $18,500.
Again this week we find a 1955 Ford Thunderbird for under $30,000 in our new listings. This is the third week in a row. There may be a trend here. Classic Car Marketing just posted an ad for their client who says this early T-Bird has been sitting for the last ten months and will need some attention to bring it back to life. He says it was restored by Prestige Thunderbird. It comes with an "original 292 Y block V8, with rebuilt original automatic transmission." It came from the factory with red paint, and original red and white interior. Notice the new whitewall radial tires and new exhaust. The seller has owned it for the past 20 years. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is only $28,500.
Mopar enthusiasts will get a lift out of this one. Aside from the big block cars, there is no other Mopar that is more popular than the 1969 Dodge Dart GTS. It has it all. The look, the stance and the quick 340 motor stroked to 416 ci are a dream to experience. This one has an automatic transmission and 3500 stall converter. The private seller says it has a new interior, elecgtric cutouts and ceramic headers. It has B5 blue paint and he says it is a "real head turner." You can imagine. So how does it come to be one of our DEALs of the DAY next week? The asking price is $24,000. Don't wait too long to see this one.
Somebody when to a lot of effort to make this 1969 Mustang into a Boss 302 tribute car. It looks good in Boss trim. The Mustang was advertised by Classic & Collectible Cars of Las Vegas, experts in classic Mustangs. They say it comes with a mildly built Ford 302 V8, automatic transmission, front disc brakes, hood scoop, billet gas cap, GT quad tip exhaust with headers, billet steering wheel, front spoiler, new 17" REV wheels, chrome export brace, new aluminum radiator, Boss 302 paint scheme and aluminum intake. They offer that it is a "great driver." Most important is the price. You get a respectable muscle car for just $17,500.
We have been talking a lot about cars that need a little work in the DEALs of the DAY here today. But here is a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible which the owner says needs nothing. The seller is from Brainerd, Minnesota. He says he needs the financing to finsh a '70 Superbird. So he is selling his Barracuda with original sheet metal in the original color. He notes that it comes with power steering, a power top and bucket seats with a console. He notes that these cars are hard to find, and thinks it is one of the nicest out there. Find out more about it by ordering a pre-purchase inspection online. (Click here to view info on the inspection service.) But hurry! This Barracuda convertible will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of just $26,500.
One of the most iconic automobiles ever produced is the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Dr Hardtop as the one you see here. It was such an inspirational new look for the post-war automotive industry that it seemed to wake up a younger generation of Baby Boomers who were looking for fun and excitement in their cars and in their culture. It is considered a benchmark car for the generation. So we were surpised when it was listed at such a reasonable price this week. The private seller from Chesaning, Michigan tells us it is an older restoration with a 327 ci V8 and 350 automatic transmission. He says it runs great. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week if it lasts that long. The asking price is only $18,000. Hurry!
As pickup trucks age they seem to get more beautiful in the eyes of the beholder. You have to admit this 1966 Ford F100 Pickup is a sight for sore eyes. A private seller from Summerville, North Carolina has this black beauty for sale. He does not indicate that it has been restored. In fact, he says it has been in storage for 25 years. That could be good, or bad, depending. He says the floor boards and cab mounts are solid. He also indicates that it runs great with a 352 V8 engine, three-on-a-tree, and a short bed. In the ad description he says the motor is original with matching VIN on the door and frame. We thought it was worth to be a DEAL of the DAY this week at a price of $11,499.
