The Wellborn Musclecar Museum will be hosting their Grand Re-Opening Event on March 4, 2017, from 9 am to 5 pm. This event will be held in conjunction with the Birmingham Mopar Owner’s Club Third Annual Mopar Meetup car show.
Last fall, the museum closed temporarily to change up the collection and install brand new exhibits. The Color-Chip Cuda will be displayed as will the famous K & K Insurance Dodge Daytona which was recently invited back to the Salt Flats of Utah to replicate Bobby Isaac’s 28 world speed records.
If you wish to show your car at the Mopar Meetup, please contact Eric Perrine at (205) 542-1240. Here is a link to the Wellborn Musclecar Museum Facebook page. The museum is located at 124 Broad Street, Alexander City, Alabama.
"This frame scraping 1956 Ford Crown Victoria Custom found a new home through Cars On Line." That's what a Las Vegas collector told us when he sold his Custom Crown Vic through his Run Till Sold ad on COL. It's no wonder. The custom hardtop evokes an era when the Car Kulture was at its peak. Today it is a tribute to a great time in America when life seemed less complicated. Now our Las Vegas advertiser knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars On Line."

You can't find a better muscle car deal on the planet than this 1969 Ford Torino Talladega from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Talladega Torinos won 29 Grand National races in NASCAR during 1969 and 1970. This is the Ford model Torino which was homologated for racing in NASCAR. It was purpose built to win stock car races, but Ford had to build some for street use too in order to qualify for the track. Thus about 750 Talladegas were produced. They are very rare to find today.
Although the NASCAR Talladegas all had either the 427 side-oiler or, later, the Boss 429 engines, all of the production cars for homologation were produced with 428 Cobra Jets. Competition black hoods and rear deck panels came on all production cars. The 428 Cobra Jet had the ability to create high torque at low RPMs. This car is an investment car which will likely increase in value. You may never find another one at this price point.
A complete bolt-by-bolt, frame-off restoration and modernization put this 1959 Chevy Biscayne Custom in a position to compete and win in national and concourse level events. The seller is from Houston, Texas and tells us it was also meant to be driven. You can get a little feel for that in the walk around video above. You can click here to view as well. Highlights include a professionally built 283ci engine with dual quad carbs, a new Turbo 350 trans, a rare Batwing air cleaner, custom Air Ride suspension, and one-of-a-kind wheels specially fabricated for this car. The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
I think you'll agree that this 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible is a lotta' car for the money. The third owner purchased it in 2001 and has spent 16 years restoring and upgrading it to be a very nice driver. Specialty Sales Classics in Benicia, California tells us, "The body panels are laser straight all the way around and the underside is among the cleanest we’ve ever seen." It features a 360 ci V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor, an MSD electronic ignition, new Doug’s headers, a dual exhaust w/ Y pipes, a brand new suspension. Here is a link to a walk-around video of this car. Either come down and see this one for yourself, or have it inspected. But don't wait too long. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is only $18,990.
Our newsletter readers know what we always say about these first generation Ford Thunderbirds. If you can find a nice one for under $30,000, you should buy it. They will keep their value better than most classic cars. Here is a 1955 Ford Thunderbird offered for sale by American Classic Car Sales out of Sarsota, Florida. They say it has a strong, solid body with only 22k original miles. It comes with both tops. This roadster may need paint. You should see for yourself. The asking price is in a pretty low range for the right buyer who can complete a cosmetic restoration. Check it out. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of $25,000.
A 1936 Plymouth Turtleback Sedan has been listed by a private seller from Azusa, California. This one is priced like a starter car. Yet it has cold air for the summer and hot heat for the winter. The front end is a Mustang II with disc brakes; a Camaro 10 bolt position rear end 2:73 ratio with drum brakes. It has a Chevy 350 engine with 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor. And the transmission is a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic with B&M stall converter and a Hurst shifter. It was built with hot rod shop style quality performance parts. But, like we said, still comes with a starter car price. It will be our DEAL of the DAY priced at $22,000.
A long car that looks even longer because of the Straight 8 engine and original design elements. Here is a 1936 Buick Roadmaster Series 80 Sedan still in very original condition with dual side mounts, black with tan interior, fully serviced, and a bargain at this price. The 131-inch wheelbase looks even longer when you see it in person. This one is now available through Connors Motorcar Company in West Chester, Pennsylvania. When you consider that a few cars like this have sold at auctions for six figure amounts, this one seems very affordable. It will be our DEAL of the DAY later this week with an asking price of $19,500.
Of course the AMX name had long since been retired by Americn Motors when this 1977 AMC Hornet was produced. But one collector thought it would be fun to make his own AMX out of a Hornet. So now it has a very strong 401 engine. It was built from the ground up, says the private owner. Every thing is done on this car. He says you can take it to shows, you can get in it and drive it anywhere. It has professional body and paint work. The owner says it has achieved a Concour Gold Award at the Cleveland AMO convention. Be sure to consider the quality here. Have it inspected before you buy. But you may want to hurry on this one. The asking price is only $15,000.
This is one model of classic car that never stays very long in our Cadillac Section. The 1949 Cadillac Series 62 is being brokered by Haggle Me.com for a private seller. They say the odometer still reads just 21k miles. It is advetised as a stock restoration except for a Pertronix electronic ignition module inside the distributor, and a 1949-period under-dash heater and defroster. The car was originally purchased in Minnesota. It comes with a 3-speed hydromatic transmission. They say the floor, trunk and rockers are solid. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $18,750.
Eric's Muscle Cars in Maryland has a 1972 Chevy C-10 Custom Pickup for sale that you may want to check out. It is a Fleetside Short Bed freshly painted with a 350 4-bolt main, TH350 tranny, power steering, power brakes, 308 non-posi 12-bolt rear end, working factory air conditioning R134A. The suspension is something else: lowered with 5" drop springs, shock relocation kit, full length adjustable tracking bar, sway bar in front. It has a Performer intake, Lunati cam, new Holley 670 cfm carburetor, and so much more. Interior has new Houndstooth seat cover, new headliner, new carpet. There is a lot to like here. But the price is the best part. Asking $19,500.
