We first featured this 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible in the last newsletter of March, in which we hailed it as “one of the top ten all-time classics.” It’s obvious many of our readers agreed. You voted and you choose this '58 Chevy Impala which is being offered for sale by Streetside Classics of Atlanta, Georgia. For the past two weeks, hundreds of Cars-On-Line readers have been placing their votes for COL's 2017 CAR of the YEAR. The '58 Chevy got the most votes from a field of 14 candidates. It pulled ahead of the pack and captured an impressive 25-percent of the votes tallied during our online poll. All of the cars in our poll were featured in the Cars-On-Line newsletter during 2017. This remarkable '50s classic features a 348 Tripower big block, continental kit and a Tri-Tone interior. The restoration is captivating and everything is correct according to the ad. See dozens of additional photos at this link.
Taking second place in the 2017 CAR of the YEAR poll, the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda from Northford, Connecticut came on strong in the past few days. The private seller told us it was a numbers matching 426 Hemi Cuda with a 4-speed. What made it so significant was the Super Track Pack option. It ended with 13 percent of the vote. A 1959 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible held its own early in the polling period but couldn’t maintain its momentum. After leading the voting last week, it finished in third place with 11 percent of the final vote.
You can see all of the finalists as well as exciting highlights from the past year in our 2017 Year in Review here! Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter if you haven’t already. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We’ll feature more incredible classic and collector cars all year long through 2018. We hope you’ll join us in the coming year as we retrace the annals of automotive history.

The Tucker Automobile Club of America has agreed to house its venerable archives in the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. A recent press release said that TACA's financial resources, archival and artefactual collections "will be transferred to the AACA Museum, Inc. The Club’s approximately 200 members will be welcomed into the AACA Museum’s growing family, substantively increasing the organization’s already-significant Tucker-based resources and knowledge." Founded in 1973, the TACA has been the gatekeeper of Preston Tucker’s legacy, and was formed to connect owners and enthusiasts, locate each of the surviving automobiles and to accurately tell the history of the short-lived Tucker Corporation. Already the AACA Museum showcases David Cammack's Tucker Collection, the largest single collection of Tucker artifacts including three of the famed automobiles, several Tucker engines, a test chassis and other one-of-a-kind items. Now the AACA Museum will be the single most authoritative source of Tucker information in the world.
You can tell that the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona is coming up next month. There are some very choice high-end cars being sold this week. Don't be surprised if you see them crossing the auction block in Scottsdale in January. (Check our Cars-On-Line Car Show Calendar for details.) This 1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible was marked SOLD by the owner. This was an investment grade, numbers matching, fully documented Mopar, and well known in collector car circles, according to the seller. Now he knows why we always say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars-On-Line." To view more vehicles SOLD thru Cars-On-Line this week, follow this link to the SOLD section below. The last COL newsletter of 2017 is jam-packed with high end muscle cars such as this one. A multi-show winning 1969 Chevelle COPO 427 has beern listed for sale by Daniel Schmitt & Co out of their St Louis gallery. They tell us it is a spectacular concours quality restoration. In fact, it was previously purchased at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in 2006. According to their press information, the COPO Chevelle is finished in stunning Phantom Green with a gorgeous green interior. "This magnificent Chevelle COPO is among one of the finest examples on the market today and is one of the highest option examples known to exist," they stated.
The COPO Chevelle was first “offered” in 1969 for SS/D drag racing. It is estimated that only 350 COPO Chevelles were produced with very few documented examples still existing today. Examples rarely come to market; when they do, they are sought after by some of the most discerning collectors on the globe.
This is the first real "exotic" car. It all began with the Lamborghini Countach, probably the most exciting and sexy automotive design of all time. Motorcar Classics out of Farmingdale, New York has just posted this fresh listing, a 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV featured in red with a black leather interior. They say this car is still original with only 12,841 miles, and that it retains the incredible performance of a brand new Countach. You have to see this one for yourself. It comes with its original toll roll from the factory. This iconic exotic car will continue to increase in value. Will it be the next million-dollar collectible?
In all of the muscle car market there is no more enigmatic car than this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SX Convertible with the Ram Air induction. It had stunning performance equal to the 442, but most people did not know it even existed back in the day. There were only 357 of these convertibles ever built in 1971. View this video to get more history. It was a 442 without the price tag and trim. This one is being offered for sale by Shelton Classics in Mooresville, North Carolina. Today it sits with only 4,300 miles since the comprehensive restoration. They tell us it received a nearly $6,000 re-freshening which included new springs and shocks, new bushings, new brakes, new fluids throughout, new gaskets, repaired dual-gate shifter, new fuel lines, repair of all vacuum lines and AC system. This is a special find for a muscle car collector.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. These deals have been getting better and better each week as the collector car market goes "to sleep" for the winter. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Corvettes are the Gold Standard of the collector car market. These American sports cars were collectible from the day they came out of the factory. Here is a 1971 Corvette for sale by a private seller from West Babylon, New York. We Be Autos.com is the broker for this special deal. Although it has an NOM 350 crate motor, the original motor sits on a stand next to it. They say it has correct original rally wheels with white letter tires, original spare tire carrier is correctly in place, original exhaust manifolds on the car. Be sure to view this video walk-around from We Be Autos.com. They say it is a great driver with much better than driver quality paint. It will be our featured DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is $14,995.
So elegant that Ford named it an "Opera Coupe," this 1941 Ford is a rare pre-war era passenger car which has not gotten the respect it deserves in the collector car market. Again, here is a listing by We Be Autos.com for one of their clients on Long Island in New York. They say this 1941 Ford Opera Coupe has period aftermarket performance built in. It looks all original but comes with a 1950 Mercury flathead engine, Offy heads, Mallory dual point ignition and a single Stromberg 97 carburetor. The seller notes that it has some fust in the trunk area. You should have it inspected before you buy. But this one will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is just $18,500.
In the early days of the muscle car market the Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 became the young executive's preferred ride. Not only did it have outstanding performance, but it also retained some of the creature comforts of mid-sized cars of that era. Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California has this 1967 Oldsmobile 442 coming out of long term ownership. It probably is a driver quality example, so you should have it inspected to determine its condition class. But Beverly Hills Car Club states that it is equipped with an automatic transmission with a strong V8 engine, MSD ignition, Edelbrock carburetor, air conditioning, power steering and chrome wheels. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is just $15,750.
When the retro Mach 1 went into production by Ford in 2003 there was a burst of interest in bringing back the name. Recently these cars have come down in value. Today there is a 2003 Mustang Mach 1 being offered for sale for just $9,995. We Be Autos.com has listed this rare Zinc Yellow version for sale. They say it is in exceptional condition. They say it runs and drives great, equipped with a 4.8L engine and 5-speed manual transmission. There may be some collectibility in these 2003 and 2004 models because they were produced in limited numbers. This one is said to have low mies. You'll see it featured on our front page as a DEAL of the DAY next week!
If you are looking for a wonderful cruising car at an affordable price look no further than this 1966 Pontiac Catalina Hardtop. According to the private owner from Grand Forks, North Dakota this powerful sports car is fun to drive. They say it runs great, handles well and has excellent brakes. It comes with power steering, power drum brakes, tilt steering, dual dome lamps, a 389 big block engine with and an automatic transmission. Although they say the dash pad has cracks, and the bumpers could be re-chromed, they say all glass and stainless are excellent. They say the trunk floor is solid. Good to know. The price is so affordable that it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week, if it lasts that long. They are asking $8,995.
Remember when the Avanti II was being produced on a small scale by former Studebaker dealers who did not want to let the Avanti die? By 1976 they were using a 400 ci V8 engine which really made the 1976 Avanti II a powerful sports car with great handling. This one is being offered today by We Be Autos.com for a New York client. Not only is it priced right, but it also comes with an automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, sun roof and custom wheels. They say it has 70k miles and you can see from the photos that it has a nice look. It will be one of our DEALs of the DAY later next week. The asking price is $12,995.
