It is a shock to the classic car community! The Auto Collections has announced it will be closing its museum in the Linq Resort & Casino on the strip in downtown Las Vegas. In a statement on their website, they said: "To the millions of visitors and the thousands of customers who have walked through our doors over the past 18 years: We regret to inform you that we will be permanently closing our doors to the public on December 30th, 2017." Private collectors may be able to capitalize on this announcement. Not only will they be selling their unique inventory of classic and collectible cars, but they will also be selling gas pumps, prints, paintings, car models, stanchions and ropes, collectibles, equipment, and more. After December 30, 2017 they will be available by appointment only.

Last week the Winter 2017 Raleigh Classic got off to a hot start when the 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 Convertible, which we previewed here in the COL newsletter the day before, sold for $96,000 at the hammer. That really got bidder's attention for an action packed Saturday here at the Jim Graham Building of the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.  Over 300 top muscle cars and classic ’50s and ’60s collector cars crossed the auction block during the two-day sale. 1955 Chevy Customs are really hot in this market. For the second week in a row our top sale this week was a 1955 Chevy Bel Air Custom. The owner, Tommy, from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, told us, "thank you so much" after selling his 1955 Chevy Bel Air using an ad here on the site. It has Firestone Red over Corvette Silver paint with a 327 from a '64 Chevy Impala and 350 heads. There are so many custom mods on this car, it is truly an amazing build. In order to be successful in the collector car market a classic car dealer must be consistently relevant to what's hot in the hobby. This special order 1969 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 is one of the rarest, low mileage collectible muscle cars offered for sale according to Carroll Street Auto. It was originally sold at BereJik Motors in 1969. It was ordered with a M-21 close ratio Muncie 4-spd and numerous performance upgrades made by the dealer. The paint is amazing. The restoration is gorgeous and the mileage makes this one even more incredible. It's just a little over 6,000 miles from new according to the ad! Click through and get a closer look at the Parchment interior, Strato bucket seats, and the numbers matching 400 engine that was rebuilt during the restoration.

An upgraded performance suspension, cold A/C, and a striking patina are a few of the features bundled into this 1951 Studebaker Champion from Streetside Classics in Arizona. This 1955 Chevy Cameo Pickup lived most of its life in California and later graced the stage at Barrett-Jackson in 2013. It's now for sale in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. We're told it has a period correct V8, standard 3-speed transmission, and an odometer showing just 44,000 miles. The color is Bombay Ivory with a red interior. The seller says it runs well and drives quiet. The original listing priced it at $55,000, but it's been PRICE REDUCED to just $42,000. The seller is motivated and these trucks are a timeless classic design that almost everyone loves. Don't miss your chance at this one!

There's a date correct M code 1969 440 V8 motor with 6-pack carburetors under the hood of this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner from Classical Gas Motors. It's an A-12 tribute that features a matte black hood scoop, a 4-spd manual transmission with Hurst shifter, split bench seat, and a completely redon interior. The restoration was done right on this one. Check it out!

Despite all the comparisons to other GM muscle cars, the Chevrolet Chevelle remains one of the most popular American muscle cars to own. That's why we got excited to see this 1968 Chevelle SS 396 listed by Cool Cars of Pompano Beach, Florida. The 1968 Chevelle was a one-year only body style which remains popular among Chevelle owners. Cool Cars tells us this Super Sport edition is the real deal ... a 138 VIN with matching numbers big block motor. You have to admit it looks great in the photos. You should probably hurry on this one. It may not last the weekend because the asking price is only $28,500. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday.

You don't see a 1929 Pontiac 3-Window Coupe in this kind of condition very often. As rare as it is we were surprised to see this one offered for just $14,500. They say it was restored just a few years ago and now still holds its charm. In its current condition this is a realatively affordable classic car which remains a driver quality collectible. The seller points out that the motor just purrs, has a 3-speed transmission,a very cool car that was in a museum for a while. The seller is a muscle car guy and it does not fit his collector mold. So he is selling it to move it. Great opportunity for someone who will appreciate this old car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday.

Any Edsel was born to be collectible. Jensen Dealerships in Sioux City, Iowa is currently presenting a very attractive 1958 Edsel Pacer Hardtop for sale. They note that it is a good looking car, very collectible.  Powered by the original 361 V8 couple with an automatic transmission, this car is said to have solid floors and frame, newer paint and a nice interior. They tell us it is a great driver. Remember, the Edsel Pacer had the transmission controls at the center of the steering wheel, a collector factoid which remains a curiousity for these cars. We encourage you to have the car inspected before you buy, as always. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday. The asking price is $17,500.

The little known GMC Sprint is the cousin of the ever popular Chevy El Camino SS. While the El Camino is a well known car/truck hybrid, the GMC Sprint was produced in fewer numbers and may have the higher collector value. That's why it is surprising to find a 1971 GMC Sprint being offered for sale this week from a private collector in Springville, California. It should be noted that this is not a stock original muscle truck. It has a built 383 stroker motor, automatic transmission, air conditioning, stereo/speakers and rear air shocks. The private seller says it is super clean and runs great. You'll find it as a DEAL of the DAY next week!

A hot muscle car for Mopar fans is the 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 such as the one seen here being sold at Classic Auto Showplace in Troy, Michigan. Again, it is not a totally original Duster 340. This 1970 Plymouth Duster is powered by a 383 ci V8 with Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission. This 383 features a mild cam and aluminum radiator. It also has a 3-inch o.d. stainless steel dual exhaust. It has newer orange paint with black graphics and a black vinyl interior. Notice the matching steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps. At just $15,750, the price is so affordable that it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week.

Beverly HIlls Car Club actively markets their marketing programs to help wealthy sports car owners move their older vehicles. Many of these cars come from the Hollywood Hills where they may have been in long term storage by ownrs who lost interest in them over the years. Here is a 1969 Corvette with T-Tops and an unusual color combination ... Daytona yellow with a blue interior. Is this the only one ever? It is equipped with an automatic transmission with a strong V8 engine, air conditioning, power steering, OEM stereo, Edelbrock valve covers and Cragar wheels. They say it remains a presentable blue plate California car which is mechanically sound. Price at just $19,500, it will be one of our DEALs of the DAY later next week.

Crown Concepts is one of the leading automotive performance and fabrication shops in the world. They also like to dabble in collector cars so they always have a fresh batch for sale. Today they are offering a 1963 Ford Falcon Ranchero for sale from their collection in Tucson, Arizona. They tell us the car/truck has been well kept and the previous owners have compiled all of the documentation you need. This one has V8 power combined with a 4-speed transmission. That is a hard-to-find combo. It was interesting to us to find that it has such an affordable price tag. It's our DEAL of the DAY late next week when our readers will find that the price is only $15,990. Think it will last that long?
