Collector car buyers are salivating over the selection of "No Reserve" classic cars and trucks offered for sale at the Fall Auburn Auction 2017. The much anticipated sale is coming up next weekend, August 31-September 3. Most auctions have a sprinkling of No Reserve vehicles. ("No Reserve" means the vehicle will sell to the highest bidder, without having to meet a seller's pre-determined price.) Yet this Fall Auburn Auction by Auctions America is full of high quality vehicles offered at No Reserve.
Collectors love these sales. Here is why. As an example, a 1932 Packard Eight Sport Phaeton (shown above) consigned to the Fall Auburn Auction in Auburn, Indiana next week, is valued at $150,000. However, because it is designated as No Reserve, it will sell to the highest bidder even if it does not reach its market value. You could take home a classic car every collector would love to own. This Packard is very rare. Only 901 were produced that year. It was professionally restored for the show circuit. A stately grand automobile, it is appointed with dual cowl-mounted spotlights, dual sidemount spares, chrome wire wheels, wide whitewall tires and Pilot Ray driving lights that turn with the steering wheel. It is scheduled to cross the auction block at the Auctions America Auction Park on Friday, September 1, 2017.
Among the other great vintage classic cars offered at No Reserve are: a 1916 REO Speedster, 1931 Cadillac Fleetwood Rumble Seat Roadster, 1934 Ford V8 Cabriolet, 1936 Ford Deluxe Phaeton, 1928 Chevrolet AB National Roadster and a 1930 Ford Model A Roadster.
And the No Reserve tag will appear on muscle cars as well. It was just announced that the highly desirable 1967 Shelby GT500 advertised as a promo car for the show will be offered at No Reserve as well. The seller discloses that it has been restored to exacting standards, is documented and appears in the SAAC Registry. Other high profile muscle cars will be sold at No Reserve, including: a 1965 Pontiac GTO Tripower Convertible, 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, 1963 Chevy Nova SS, 1967 Chevelle SS and a 1969 Camaro Z/28.
There are literally hundreds of classic '50s cars which will cross the auction block during the Auctions America sale. We were impressed when we noticed this 1956 Mercury Montclair Convertible would be offered at No Reserve. The tutone color combo is stunning. The list of national awards it has won is just as impressive. But there is more. Click on these impressive '50s classics, all at No Reserve: 1953 Packard Caribbean Convertible, 1958 Ford Ranchero, 1958 Edsel Pacer Convertible, 1956 Chrysler Imperial Southampton and a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. The auction docket also includes street rods, classic customs and a collection of rare motorcycles.
Take a look at the entire inventory for the Fall Auburn Auction 2017 by clicking this link. There are already over 850 cars consigned. They expect to have close to 1,000 cars by next weekend. Be sure to follow our coverage of the Fall Auburn Auction on the Cars On Line blog page.

This weekend we'll be sharing stories and swapping parts with Studebaker owners as the Wisconsin Region Studebaker Drivers Club (WRSDC) is sponsoring the 2017 Upper Mississippi Valley Zone Meet on August 23-27, 2017 in Brookfield, Wisconsin. They promise a comprehensive display of unique vehicles from Studebaker's more than 150-year history. Over 100 classic Studebakers were registered as of Friday. Our photographer will be there to cover the event and bring our readers updates on our Studebaker Club blog. You can also watch for our posts on Facebook and Twitter this weekend. On Sunday, we may get a chance to accompany the whole Studebaker contingent as they travel to the giant Lake Tichigan Car Show promising 1,200 classic cars from all over the Midwest.

About a week was all it took for Walter to sell his 1962 Chevy Impala 409. He tried our very popular 26-Photo SLIDE SHOW ad and had great success! "Cars On Line is the only service I have used and will continue to use," he told us. No wonder the car SOLD so quickly. He said his '62 was originally purchased in Phoenix and has never left the state. It had undergone a body-off restoration using NOS parts. What a find! And you could only find it here in our Impala Section. Walter gets it when we say, "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell through Cars On Line." Back in the days prior to World War II, Packard was a name that defined the American luxury car. In the 1930’s Packard’s elegant offerings were on top of the luxury car market, owned by celebrities, industrialists and royalty alike. One of the rarest of these elegant motorcars was this 1937 Packard Twelve Roadster Coupe. Only 69 were ever produced.
Though you usually only see a car of this provenance at a concours such as Pebble Beach, Amelia Island or Meadowbrook, today Legendary Motorcar Company has listed this one for sale here in the COL Packard Section online. It is significant for its advanced Safe-T-Flex independent front suspension. Among its credentials, it has been awarded CCCA Senior Premier status and an AACA National First Prize. The sale will include restoration receipts and documentation.
This 1968 Dodge Charger is a factory 383 car that boasts factory air, power steering, brakes, and headlights. It underwent a rotisserie restoration only a few years ago and was recently traded in at Unique Specialty & Classics in Mankato, Minnesota. Watch the video above or click here. They take a walk around and you can hear it running the whole time. They'll open the door and show you the "buddy seats" and dash.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY front page feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Prices on collector cars are under some pressure in today's market because the players have been leaving the scene as prices trend downward. So now you are seeing what appear to be some great deals as a result. Take this 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop being offered by Haggle Me.com, an internet broker hearquartered in Michigan. They say it has Pontiac Historical Society documents, an automatic transmission, chrome accessories, bucket seats, console with floor shifter and 15" chrome PMD wheels. Be sure to have it inspected before you buy. Even the broker has probably not seen this car. But, hurry! It will be our featured DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the price is only $24,900.
After World War II Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan could not afford retooling to come out with a new design. However, Packard had decided to design cars for the growing middle class buyer, while trying to keep the luxury class buyer as well. In fact, when this 1950 Packard Deluxe Touring Sedan became available, it came with the Ultramatic transmission, Packard's first automatic transmission on a production car. It was the last year for the bulging "bathtub" look. It remains today a very good example of the post-war era of automotive design. This one is being offered by Connors Motor Cars of W. Chester, PA. They say it still has only 25k miles. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday because the price is very affordable at $19,500.
Haggle Me.com is also offering a 1969 AMC AMX for sale at a discount to the average value on these cars. This one should probably be considered a driver class car because it has a V8 engine but comes with a 5-speed transmission, power steering, performance upgrades, bucket seats, Hurst shifter, CD player, staggered 15" chrome Magnum 500 wheels with BFG tires. They only ran a couple of photos of this one but it looks good the way it is represented by Haggle Me.com. If you have always wanted one of these pocket rockets, this may be your opportunity. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday if it lasts that long. The asking price is only $17,900.
A driver quality 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible may be the real "sleeper" in this group. The private seller from Hensley, Arkansas says it is "In very nice shape. All original, never messed with. New fluids, filters, tires, battery. Runs and drives great. Body in excellent condition, only rust is on trunk lid, everything else solid. Paint is decent, shows usual chips and scratches." The paint is the desirable Code 68 Burnt Sienna Metallic. Interior is code 482 Antique Light Sandalwood leather. Engine is the 501ci V8, and it has front wheel drive. He does note that there is a 3-inch tear in the top and the rear window is missing. But he assures buyers that the top goes up and down just fine. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this coming week. I think you will agree that this is a lotta' car for the asking price: $7,000.
I don't know if I've ever seen a nice 2010 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T at this low a price before. Not only does it come with the 5.7L Hemi engine, but it is equpped with a 6-speed manual transmission, and Track Pak 3:91 gears with posi rearend. The private seller from Elizabethtown, Kentucky says it has just 10,120 miles on it and he says he is the second owner. He says the upgrades include: new Flowmaster catback exhaust with resonator delete; Hurst short throw shifter; Mopar CAI, lowered with Mopar stage 1 springs so it sits like the Hellcats and Scatpacks. What's more, the seller says it is super clean and in near perfect condition. We knew we had to make it a DEAL of the DAY for the coming week, because the asking price is only $25,000.
If you've always wanted a big boat convertible, you know the type of land cruiser that seems to obsorb the road, this may be an inexpensive entry into the collector car market. A 1964 Buick Electra 225 Convertible has been listed by a broker from Holiday, Florida. He says it is a good driver. Would it be a good candidate for a restoration? You might want to have it inspected to find out. They say it has been serviced and is road worthy. They note, however that the air conditioning does not work, and there are some TLC issues mentioned in the ad copy. The broker says the seller is motivated. So it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $11,575.
Rat rods and old school hot rods have captured the collector imagination over the past ten years, and every time you see one you have to chuckle over how the hot rod hobby has evolved. The 1926 Ford T Roadster listed this week by a private seller from Clover, South Carolina evokes just such a response. He says it runs excellent with less than 100 miles since it was overhauled in 2016. It uses Henry's real steel and comes with a 1926 title. He says it also has real E&J Type 20 headlights. The engine is a '69 Chevy 350/375 hp with TH350 automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rearend. Check this one out in person or have our Inspection Service look into it for you. Either way, it will be our DEAL of the DAY later next week with an asking price of $15,500.

About a week was all it took for Walter to sell his 1962 Chevy Impala 409,"Cars On Line is the only service I have used and will continue to use." He tried our very popular 26 Photo SLIDESHOW ad and had great success!
