Way back in the day the Boss 429 Mustang was born out of necessity as Ford needed a monster power plant to use in NASCAR to confront the onslaught of Hemi cars from Chrysler. Although Ford raced the Boss 429 engine in the Torinos they homologated the Boss 429 engine by shoehorning them into their best seller, the Mustang. That is how the legendary Mustang Boss 429 was born.
RK Motors Charlotte has just posted a Grabber Blue 1970 Boss 429 Mustang this week. Because the monster Mustang was a 25k-mile survivor. The restoration was done using NOS parts and with patient care. The rare Boss 429 is one of only 500 produced in 1970.
RK Motors tells us that the orignal 429 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 still lives under the hood. You can tell that the motor has been detailed to look exactly like an original would have from the factory. While the factory rated these Boss 9 engine at 375 horses for insurance purposes, the fact that the mills actually made over 500 horsepower was one of Detroit’s worst kept secrets.
RK Motors shot a great video presentation of this 1970 Boss 429 Mustang. You can see it here when you click the video window below:
Be sure to read the extensive story and restoration history when you click through to view the ad on the RK Motors Charlotte website.

Scenes of Hurricane Matthew chewing up the Atlantic coastline were all over the news last week. Many wondered if the big Hilton Head Island Concours events would be able to be held the first week in November. To make it official we received an email this week from the Hilton Head Island Concours office and they said the event will be held as scheduled October 28-November 6, 2016.
We also confirmed with Auctions America that their Hilton Head Island Auction on November 5 at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa will go on as scheduled. In a statement they said, "Hilton Head Island businesses, the Island’s main throughways, along with the Motoring Festival partner hotels ... are fully operational and ready to accommodate the many visitors set to attend the Festival." Last week you saw this 1969 Camaro Z/28 featured in our Chevy Muscle Car section of this newsletter. It was offered for sale by a collector from Lincolnshire, Illinois. At the time he told us it was a solid No. 2 condition driver. This week the owner notified us that his Z/28 had already SOLD. The popular Hugger Orange paint is a big factor in the sale. It also had a Code 72 302 DZ engine, and it was an X77 car with a Hurst 4-speed and 12-bolt rear end and 3:73 posi.

In Cars On Line's most recent Market Trends Report, they revealed that classic Ford values have risen during 2016. The newly published report shows many Ford collector cars have risen in value during 2016. The average prices paid on Ford collector cars this year are up 12.5 percent, according to the report. (Readers can see the whole report by following this link.)
Some popular Ford muscle cars really appreciated in value. The report shows that the 1970 Ford Torino 429 Cobra, which had stagnated in recent years, is now averaging a 240 percent increase in price over what they were going for last year. Other popular Ford products which have seen increases in value in 2016 include the base 1969-70 Mustang Mach 1 M Code and the Boss 429 Mustang. You will find them for sale in our Ford Muscle Car Section today. Better check them out before collectors find out they have gone up in value.
Other than Ford muscle cars however the news on collector car values is not as sanguine. Most collector car prices have remained pretty flat for 2016. The Cars On Line Market Trends Report shows only a 1.7 percent increase in collector car values for the year.
A very special classic first generation 1957 Ford Thunderbird "E-Bird" has been listed for sale by a private collector out of Florida. The seller says his E Code 270 horspower edition 1957 T-Bird "has less than 2 miles on her since being restored and would be described as a trailer queen and would place very highly at concours events."
It is one of less than 1,500 built, and one of 93 in the rare Dusk Rose color. Very few Dusk Rose T-Birds were produced with white interiors, making it even more rare. And to top it off this one comes with the special Kelsey-Hayes wheels. He says it is a total frame off, nut and bolt restoration.
Another interesting dealer has joined our Cars On Line Dealer Network today. Newsletter readers will be seeing unique specialty cars and motorcycles from Railroad Pass Show Cars in Henderson, Nevada. They have just posted some fresh listings on our network, including this very rare 1967 Camaro RS/SS Indy Pace Car Convertible, one of a handful of Canadian built pace cars. Chevrolet made sure their favorite Chevy dealers were able to sell and display these specialty Pace Car editions in their showrooms here in the U.S. It was a gimmick to get buyers into their showrooms. But GM of Canada also built eleven '67 Pace Cars. There are said to be only two of the eleven still in existence. Railroad Pass tells us it is a California blue plate car.
You'll find more of Railroad Pass Show Car' unique selection of collector vehicles throughout the Cars On Line New Listings this week. They indicate they will be posting more over the weekend. Here is a look at what they have listed for sale so far: Railroad Pass Show Cars inventory
This award winning 1957 Ford Thunderbird is among the host of newly listed collector cars from RK Motors Charlotte in North Carolina. Watch the video here. It has a familiar past, but was given a body-off restoration that the current owner finished just last February. It includes a 312ci Thunderbird V8, Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission, and all original sheet metal.

GM of Canada produced the 1966 Chevelle Malibu SS with a 136 VIN code for a short time after the U.S. shifted all SS production onto the 138 VIN code. This 1966 Chevelle Malibu SS is a rare survivor according to the seller in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. It features an M20, still has the original paint, and is as yet unrestored. The price was $78,000, but it's now just $59,000. Take a look at our blog post regarding the elusive, near mythical Canadian 136 Malibu SS here.

The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
This week's highlighted 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop Sedan is offered for sale through Haggle Me.com an internet classic car broker. They say it is a running and driving time capsule from the 1950"s and everything is here! Chrome trim, interior, dash pieces, original drive train, wheels & hubcaps hidden gas cap and that unmistakable front end look. They list an original 365 ci V8 as the power plant. And they say it has 91k miles. The original 4-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission is present. You can see a list of power options in the ad. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is only $15,995.
Newsletter readers know we always say, "if you can find an early first generation Ford Thunderbird for under $30,000 ... you should buy it." So this 1955 Ford Thunderbird just posted by a private seller in Middleton, Massachusetts is one you should have inspected. He says it has a strong running 292 V8 with an automatic transmission. But don't be misled into thinking this is a show quality car. Far from it. He says it is a good driver in need of paint. The color is desirable. You don't find them in this price range very often. Be sure to check it out before it hits our front page in the DEAL of the DAY feature on Sunday. The price is $17,900. You'll kick yourself if you miss out on this one.
This 1958 Buick Special 2-Door comes from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The currency exchange rate has something to do with the low price on this one. It comes with GM documents and has a 364 ci motor with the Buick Dynaflow transmission. The seller says he is the third owner. Although he says everything is in working order, he notes that it needs a new lower left chrome bumper. The ad copy says he car is "all original" except for a list of updates detailed in the ad. The seller says it has just 52k miles, and that it looks like it must have been stored its entire life. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Monday because the asking price is $15,000.
The 1937 Ford Deluxe Convertible shown here from Bridgeport, Connecticut is a little confusing. The seller lists it as a 1937 because that's the way it was built to look. But he says it is registered as a 1938. He says it has less than 300 miles on it since the build. The ad says it comeswith a rebuilt 283 Chevy motor, turbo 350 automatic with Lokar shifter, dual exhaust, p/brakes, power windows, power seat power steering, Mustang II front end with tubular upper and lower control arms, 9-inch Ford rear end, Mr Roadster rear suspension and Rod-Master wheels. With an asking price of $23,000 we have it picked to be a DEAL of the DAY next week.
This is one of those cars that you buy because you want to drive it and have fun. It is a 1969 Mercury Cougar Sports Special model with a fresh 351 Windsor motor and fresh FMX automatic transmission. The owner says they are original to the car. From a collector standpoint it is important to note that the seller says it has never had any rust. He specially mentions, "Very straight body, all original body panels with beautiful new paint including the jambs and all new weatherstripping as well." He notes that the interior, carpet, seats and door panels are all new. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week as the price is only $16,500.
We mentioned above that a company from Henderson, Nevada called Railroad Pass Show Cars is a new dealer in the Cars On Line Dealer network. Today they have listed a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King for sale at a very affordable price. Be sure to view the photos in the ad. They note that the bike looks "clean and mean." You'll have to call to get the details as the ad description is a little sparing. The equipment you see in the photos, though, looks to add value. With all that, it comes at an exceptional price. It will be our DEAL of the DAY because the asking price is $8,900.
Prior to the Mustang, Ford's little Falcon was the hot item in the their sports car stable. This 1963 Ford Falcon Convertible from Allenstown, New Hampshire was a popular car in its day. The seller says it is an "exceptionally clean, rust free, Mississippi car." According to the ad, the car has been redone with a lot of money spent. "All original sheet metal, no patches, including paint, interior, top and boot, weather stripping, etc." It has a power top, and the seller says it runs and drives "great." He says the car is ready to go as it is. "Great cruiser" is the way he describes it. In the coming week you will see it in the Cars On Line DEAL of the DAY feature on the front page of their site. The asking price is $15,900.
