On this very special day, everyone, whether a believer or not, feels a warmth that comes over the world ... a sense of peace, a calmness and goodwill that is only recognized when we get close to the greatest birthday of all. It makes you smile inside, doesn't it, that a baby boy could be born in the humblest of conditions, and yet kings come to give him presents. Now the whole world receives his gift.
As the angels sang, "Peace on earth, Good will to all" ... great hope was born from humble beginnings. Christmas means hope and love. If truth is in the eye of the beholder, then pure goodness mellows the truth. We are all at our best in the spirit of his birth. With so much love and good feeling in this celebration, this is the way it should be always.
We, here at the Cars On Line office, hope that time will stand still for you on this blessed day ... that you will take pause to consider what you have accomplished in your life ... and that you will have a chance to be with the people who helped you along your way.
So our wish for you this week is that you will feel that glow of cheer, renew friendships, fill yourself up with what is worthwhile in life ... laugh, sing and enjoy the company of family and friends. May you all have a Merry Christmas ... and God bless you ... every one.

It is amazing the effort by some people to create the car videos you see on You Tube. Our favorite You Tube video for 2016 was done by Sam Cernuto. He calls it a mixture of Customs, Classic and Concept Cars. Nice selections. In the comments on this video people seem to like the '41 Willys Gasser Pickup and the concept 2010 Dodge Charger (Challenger based.) Here is a link to the video: Customs, Classic and Concept Cars.
Sam also did a video just on Custom Lincolns and Cadillacs which has some stunning cars. He has captured incredible lowrider customs in this one.
The highest priced collector car sold at a major collector car auction in 2016 was the 1957 Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti. Drawing a winning bid of $35,711,359 at Artcurial Auction in Paris, February 2016, the famous race car had it all. This car has provenance, rarity and a winning racing history. Mike Hawthorn and Luigi Musso drove it at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Hawthorn set the first-ever lap record above 200 km/h. That year it helped Ferrari win the Constructors' World Championship Title with two second place finishes. In 1958, Sir Stirling Moss and Maston Gregory won the Cuban Grand Prix in this car.
RM Sothebys Auctions and their affiliate company, Auctions America, were the most successful collector car auction business in 2016. Together their sales generated over $450,000,000 for the year. RM Sotheby's top sale came during the Monterey Week Auctions in August. They sold a 1956 Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type, XKD 501 for an impressive $21.78 million, entering the history books as the most valuable British car ever sold at auction. Cars On Line covered Auctions America's top sale this fall at Auburn, Indiana. Click here to review the 2016 Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Festival and the Auburn Auction.
A Canadian seller found out a lot about how Cars On Line can reach out to the collector car community. This week he wrote us to let us know he sold his 1941 Chevrolet Convertible. This is a beautiful classic car equipped with a Hampton coach red leather and vinyl interior with stylish tan top. It has a 216 ci engine with a 3-speed manual transmission and Firestone wide whitewall tires. The seller has had the car for over 30 years. He felt it was time for a younger generation to enjoy it. Now he knows why we always say: "You can advertise anywhere ... but you can sell on Cars On Line." Click this link to see what else SOLD this week on the Cars On Line website.

A British-made sports car which has always fascinated the American sports car enthusiast was posted on the Cars On Line website this week. The 1952 Allard K2 Roadster had performance cues which were well ahead of its time. This rare Allard came with a Mercury Flathead 8 engine. That's right, Sidney Allard was famous for using American V8 engines to power his big Allard sports cars. This one is currently offered for sale by Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria, New York.
According to Gullwing, this K2 roadster is one of only 119 ever built. It is one of only 12 built with a Mercury V8 engine. The K2 was produced only from 1950-1952. They tell us it has excellent paint and interior. Everything was rebuilt on this car, and it remains "mechanically superb," according to the ad description. These cars are so rarely seen so it is hard to estimate its value. It would seem that Gullwing's price is fairly low on one of these collector trophies.
Southern Motors in Clarkston, Michigan wants to find a new home for this 1972 Oldsmobile 442. According to the dealership, the fully documented muscle car is one of only 240 ever produced. It wears beautiful factory Sterling Silver Metallic paint and features a factory black vinyl interior, both of which you can see in the video. Under the hood sits a numbers matching 350 engine with Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Learn more when you watch the video above (or click here).
Video ads have become the most important development for internet sellers. Just upload your video to YouTube and we'll embed your video in your Cars On Line.com ad at no extra charge.

The non-numbers matching engine was rebuilt by Active Racing Engines and is backed by a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY section on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You'll always see them here first though.
Wow! It's not often that we get a 1969 Camaro Z/28 for sale at a price that fits our DEAL of the DAY criteria! But here is one. From a private collectioin in South Carolina, this '69 Z has a non-numbers matching 350 Chevy small block engine instead of the DZ 302. It has the popular yellow paint with black stripes. It also has A/C, power front disc brakes and power steering. The seller says there is no paperwork with the car to prove it was an original Z/28, but the seller believes it is one. That considered, it is priced right to be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is $29,900.
In 1936, an Oldsmobile F36 2-Door Sedan like this one from Streetside Classics at their Dallas-Ft Worth, Texas store, was ahead of its time. Smooth inline-six engines, new hydraulic brakes, and streamlined styling made even the standard sedan like this look upscale. The smoothly applied blue paint is not necessarily original but looks good going down the road. It has Oldsmobile's rugged 213 ci Inline Six with full lubrication and outside fuel pump. Here is proof that you can still buy an excellent and affordable collector car in this market. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday. The asking price is $19,995.
A private seller from Massachusetts is offering his 1977 Pontiac Trans Am for sale. He says it is a "driver quality" Trans Am, black with gold eagle and trim and Honeycomb wheels. The seller says, "This is a matching numbers 400 Pontiac, automatic. The floor pans, trunk, drop offs, frame rails, tail pan, frame, lower fenders, are all solid and rust free." Original Oregon car has never seen salt and has a very clean body, he notes. The car shows low miles but there is no way of knowing if the odometer is accruate. But you can see why we picked it to be next week's DEAL of the DAY with the price set at just $14,999.
With a small block 350 ci 5.7L V8 w/ mild cam, aluminum performance intake and exhaust headers, this 1973 Camaro packs a punch. North Shore Classics in Mundelein, Illinois has it for sale this week. They say the Turbo 350 automatic transmission runs and feels great. It may have some imperfections in the body but nothing you can see from 5-feet away. With a new trunk pan, the car is in "excellent condition" they say. They note that it has a new aluminum radiator, hoses and belts. All brake components are said to be new. It will be our DEAL of the DAY in the coming week with an asking price of $15,500.
Here is a Beautiful, Really Clean, Rare, 1957 Ford F-100 Short Bed Big Window Pickup. The California cruiser could be great for local car shows. It is being offered for sale by Haggle Me.com, a collector car broker. They say it is a stock original style truck with the big window. It was paintd a few years ago, not show quality but said to be really nice. They say the dash is perfect with stock gauges and factory radio. Interior is described as "spotless." It has the stock 272 V8 Y-Block engine with a 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust for that 50's Hot Rod sound. They say the glass is all in good condition. The asking price is only $18,400.
Will Hummers become classics? We think they will. They were built for a limited time and had a big impact on the market when they were made available. That is pretty much in line with what a collector car is all about. Here is a 2006 Hummer H3 being offerer by a private seller from Gardnerville, Nevada. The ad says it has 99,000 miles. It is black on black leather with Alloy wheels, a sun roof, tow package, and they say the tires are next to new. We've never seen one in this price range. Are prices going down on these pre-owned Hummers? In the coming week, this one will be our DEAL of the DAY with an asking price of $15,995.
You won't see a late model box truck in our DEAL of the DAY very often, but today is the day. Here is a 2009 Chevrolet Box Truck with the 6.0 Liter gas engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, excellent condition and 200,000 original miles. The seller says it runs and drives perfect. For the right buyer this could be quite a find. You'll see it in our DEAL of the DAY in the coming week if it doesn't sell before hand. The asking price is only $5,900.
