Man, sometimes our effort to bring you all the news on the fresh listings is a bit overwhelming. This is one of those days. All of a sudden this week we are inundated with collector cars. Your gain. You'll see lots of videos linked in the fresh ads today also. I sense that the use of videos in online ads is about to explode into the hot new thing. We'll talk more about this below.

Today we have the best of both worlds. There are a number of beautiful antique and classic motorcars of yesteryear. But there are also some incredibly rare muscle cars. The choice of street rods is the best in weeks, from resto rods to hi tech modern restorations. Classic customs are coming out of the woodwork. I've never seen such a unique assortment. '50s Rock N Roll classics are in big demand and we really have a huge selection today. This is another one of those weeks where, if you're looking to get into this hobby, a lot of very desirable classic cars are available at starter car prices. Prices are at the bottom of the pricing range right now. This is a good time to be a buyer. There are some great cars in today's New Listings.

OF SPECIAL NOTE ...
Legendary Motorcar Company (LMC)
produces the TV series "Dream Car Garage" on the SPEED Channel. They have just posted a 1957 Corvette Fuelie Airbox road racing car for sale which was featured on the show. This car was restored at their restoration facility at Legendary Motorcar Company. Be sure to watch the extensive restoration video linked in the ad. It describes not only how authentically this road racing car was restored, but also some of the history behind the car that makes it so important. According to the video, this was the car which Zora Duntov used to save Corvette in the early days. Ford Thunderbirds were outselling the underpowered Corvette by a factor of four to one. Duntov and Bill Mitchell knew that to increase Corvette sales they would have to make it competitive at the track. This car is said to be the "winningest" Corvette race car of all time. It won its first race and continued to "wow" the road racing world. It has now been offered for sale for the first time since its documented restoration for just under $1 million.

We've all seen the black and gold Shelby GT350 Hertz Rent-A-Racers from 1966. But how many of you knew that there were about 54 Candy Apple red cars produced for the Hertz rental program. The owner of this 1966 Shelby GT350 H from Scottsdale, Arizona says that this is #1005, an original red car, and that it has been verified with the Shelby club and has a clean history. It currently has a correct K Code motor, and the seller describes the car as being fast and tight. He says it still has its original floor pans and no rust. It has functional brake scoops and original 14" 10-spoke wheels.

You'll see a black 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for sale in our listings this week from Saratoga Springs, New York. This is a special museum quality edition Super Sport produced at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) at Earnhardt Chevrolet in North Carolina. The seller says this car has been carefully maintained and stored. He says it has all the DEI badging and options including the ones Dale and Theresa Earnhardt chose to make the car a one-of-a-kind with Koenig wheels and performance upgrades. It has signature badging for the three DEI drivers at that time: Steve Parks, Dale Jr. and Michael Waltrip. The seller says this one is #6 of only eight such special editions that were built at Earnhardt Chevrolet.

Police Pursuit cars are an item only Emergency Vehicle collectors and police car collectors would know about. In the 1990's Chevrolet's Camaros began to dominate the market for cars designed specifically for pursuit. Today a man from Sandwich, Illinois listed a very rare 2001 Camaro B4C Police Pursuit car for sale. It was the only one made with Light Pewter metallic paint that year. It was one of only nine 6-speed B4C's built by Chevrolet in 2001. The seller says this one has just 3k original miles and that it still smells new. There is a lot of documentation on the car, including a build sheet and window sticker, says the seller. He describes it as being in showroom condition. He offers extra photos via a special link in the ad copy. The same seller has also listed a rare 2002 Camaro Z/28 Convertible which came from the factory with an LS6 Z06 block. It has only 55k pampered miles. They say it is in great condition.

KNIGHT RIDER PREMIER
Did you catch the season premier of the new "Knight Rider" TV show? Network TV finally got its act together and gave the male audience exactly what it wants ... hot cars, hot women and lots of action. There is so much action in this series that your eyeballs are on rem speed for the full hour. The nose-in-the-air media reviews are panning it, saying things like "mindless chauvinistic pranks" or "pre-pubescent machoism" or "gimmick science mixed with girls and cars." So I'm thinking: "I know. Isn't it great?!" Nice burnouts. You can catch it on Wednesdays on NBC at 8 PM Eastern time. Here's a link to the Knight Rider home page where you can catch some action videos.

LOW MILES SECTION

1978 Corvette Pace Car

1970 Mach 1 Mustang

You talk about a car that was born to be collectible. Here is a 1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car from the first year Corvette ever paced the Indianapolis 500 race. After several mediocre years of production Corvette made a comeback in 1978 with several special edition cars. This Pace Car version was tauted by dealers as a collector car from the gitgo. It has special two-tone black and silver paint with silver leather interior. The car you see pictured here from Mershons World of Cars in Springfield, Ohio is said to have an original 350 engine with matching numbers. They say it has only 147 original miles. The car is still on MSO ... it has never been titled. Also see (above right) a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang 428 CJ from a private seller in Standish, Maine. The car was discovered in storage after 26 years. Now after refurbishing, it has just 22,569 original miles and is a spectacular collector find.

Also in the New Listings today is a 1974 Camaro from Cranston, Rhode Island which they say is an unrestored survivor with only 10k miles. A 1980 Camaro from Moscow Hills, Missouri has been listed as having 24k miles.

There are many more in today's New Listings. Or check out all the cars available for sale in the Low Miles Section online.

PROJECT CARS
If you have been looking for a custom restoration, here is one that is mostly done. A 1950 Ford Custom Lead Sled has been offered for sale from Boise, Idaho. It seems that all the hard and skilled work has been done. From the photos it looks like a good piece. But there is interior work to be done yet, says the seller. Check it out. The price is only $12,000.

Another one you'll want to see is the 1955 Chevy 210 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They say you can just finish what's left on the exterior and interior. The asking price is only $9,000.

Perhaps the easiest one of all will be this 1932 Ford Roadster with a decided Old Skool look from Kalispell, Montana. They say it could just need a motor.

If you are looking for a project make sure you watch our New Listings page for daily updates. Or you can view hundreds of project car ads in the Cars On Line Project Car Section online.

DEAL OF THE DAY
Here in the Cars On Line Daily Update newsletter readers get to preview the cars that will be in our DEAL of the DAY feature for the coming week. These are the cars that the Cars On Line staff judges to be the best deals on our website. The average buyer has to wait till next week to see all these bargains when they appear on our home page. However newsletter readers get to preview them here first.

Mopars are well represented in the New Listings today. It is only fitting that we should start off with the best Mopar deal here in the DEAL of the DAY listings. Mopar lovers know that the Dodge Dart was a lightweight muscle car without an equal. The 340 small block cars could take on the big blocks, not only because of their weight advantage, but because they were so darn quick. Take this Lime Green 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger for example, offered for sale from Holly Hill, Florida. Thank goodness the seller used a Slide Show ad to show off this old treasure. You can really focus in on the detail. He says you could drive this car anywhere. He said it has a rebuilt 340 engine bored .020, Holley carburetor, dual exhaust and rebuilt 727 transmission with a 2900 stall torque converter. They say the interior and exterior were all redone about six years ago. He says it even has cold air conditioning. This one is so sharp looking in the photos, it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price of $14,000.

This looks like it could be a very nice deal on a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible from Alpharetta, Georgia. The car is a very desirable triple black convertible with air conditioning. The seller says it was painted about seven years ago, and that the car spent much of its life in California where it remained solid and very straight. It was an original 350 small block car but now has a very original looking NOM 400 engine. He says the Turbo 350 automatic transmission shifts nicely and that is also has power steering. He says the from end has tubular A-arms and adjustable front coil overs. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday because they are only asking $21,500. Also see a 1967 Pontiac Firebird from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, which they say has a real 400 big block, for $24,900.

Don't forget! Have these cars inspected before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See the Cars On Line Inspection Service page at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html

This 1961 Corvair Loadside Pickup Truck is truly rare, and, from viewing the photos, it seems like it is in respectable condition. The DePere, Wisconsin seller says the economy class truck comes from a ranch in Wyoming which is why he says it has no rust. He replaced the original drivetrain with a built '65 164 ci engine and a Powerglide. He says he used all new parts from an old stock outlet, to include brakes, shocks and front and rear stabilizer bars. He says it runs and drives great, geared for highway cruising. He allows us to see a lot of detail in the Slide Show ad. Very well done. Note the interior, engine compartment in the bed and the shots of the undercarriage. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. Where can you get this much truck for just $10,500?

When we look at street rods for sale, the first thing we do is determine whether it has the minimal equipment to be considered a starter car. Look at this 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe from Rochester, Minnesota for instance. You can see from the pictures it is a driver type street rod, not a high tech show car. It has the pre-requisite 350 small block engine and a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. The seller says it has a fiberglass body to resemble a car that was chopped. It also says it has a Mustang II front end and adjustable coil overs and power disc brakes. But than this car goes a little beyond the starter car criteria. They say it has a tube chassis, suicide doors and cold Vintage air conditioning, and more. The seller says it runs and drives excellent, although that is for the seller to verify. There's enough car here to make it a starter car and then some. So it will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. After all, the asking price is just $21,500.

A 1959 Dodge Coronet was listed for sale from Catawissa, Pennsylvania. Look at those fins. I don't know what condition class this car is in but I hope it is a nice No. 3 condition car the way it looks in the photos. And look at those pink and white '50s colors. That is a sight for sore eyes. The seller describes some of its defects. It doesn't sound too bad. There might be a concern for the floors. He says there are some metal patches on the left and right side of the trunk floor, while the undercarriage exhibits what he calls surface rust. There will be some work involved with this one. However these are very rare and you won't find one at this price very often. '50s Mopars are a good investment. It will be displayed in our DEAL of the DAY feature on the front page of the website next week with an asking price of $12,500.

Don't forget! Have these cars inspected before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See the Cars On Line Inspection Service page at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html

I get the feeling this may be one of the best buys in today's DEALS. It is a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner from Belle Plaine, Kansas. The seller says it is a numbers matching car with a 383 big block engine and only 56k actual miles. He says it was painted B5 blue about 15 years ago. It does have an automatic transmission with column shift. The engine has hardened valve seats to use unleaded fuel. He says the documentation is available to verify the low miles. He indicates that the interior is new, with fresh carpet included in the sale. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week since the listed price is $23,995.

Don't miss the 1962 Studebaker GT Hawk which was just listed from Tonasket, Washington. The seller states that it runs and drives like new, and that a restoration was done about 10 years ago. He says it has a 289 V8 4-barrel producing 225 hp, automatic transmission, Posi rear end, factory air conditioning that really works, new dual exhaust, factory tach, new brakes and a rebuilt front end. The Studebakers were always so advanced in their body styling that they are very desirable classic cars today. This one was considered a very desirable sports car model. I believe they were the pre-cursor to the Ford Mustang, even though they never enjoyed the popularity of the '60s famous Pony car. The Studebaker actually had more classic lines, and it won't cost anywhere near what a Mustang collector car costs today. The asking price is just $14,000.

The same seller also has a 1947 Studebaker Commander Starlite Coupe which he has listed for $12,000.

Don't miss the great selection of '50s Mercury's here in today's newsletter. For instance, a 1955 Mercury Monterey has been advertised from Concord, California for $18,500; and a yellow 1954 Mercury Monterey Hardtop from Apple Valley, California is offered for just $12,000.

Another car that just missed being our DEAL of the DAY next week is this 1971 Dodge Charger 500 from Cranston, Rhode Island, which they say has just 35k original miles and is offered for $19,500. There was also a yellow 1974 Dodge Charger from Worcester, New York which is priced at $15,000.

CARS FOR  $10,000-AND-UNDER
You'll be blown away by these values, all $10,000 and Under.
So many low priced cars are being listed that we have added a section to the newsletter called $10,000-AND-UNDER. Some of these cars are outstanding, really nice cars, not junk, and yet they are priced at what we would consider "pocket change."
