Welcome to another exciting issue of the Cars On Line Daily Update newsletter. We can't wait to break open all the fresh listings for you this week. We are thrilled to be witnessing the rapid fire action of the collector car market as cars are selling at a better-than-expected pace here in the fall of the year (see the SOLD Feature below.) Even though the economy is showing signs of recovery, prices on very popular collector cars are continuing to drop. See our DEAL of the DAY feature below for evidence that there are some incredibly nice cars out there at great discounts to the market. You won't believe the selection of Chevelles we have online for you today. This happened in part because Northwest Auto Sales in North Canton, Ohio just listed eleven fresh muscle car era Chevelles, 1968 through 1970. 2001 PONTIAC BLACKBIRD
In memory of the late muscle car era, Carl Black with Pontiac GMC in Atlanta, Georgia contracted with GMMG, an aftermarket conversion company, to produce the 2001 Pontiac Blackbird.The Blackbird infuses today's technology in high performance, power, handling and style with nostalgic 1970's rock hard muscle. A stock Pontiac Trans Am WS6 Ram Air was the base unit equipped with an LS1 5.7 liter V-8 engine upgraded to 380 horsepower. The 6-speed manual transmission and Hurst shift linkage is
modified with a short throw shifter. Then they added high flow air box hood, chambered Catback exhaust, front and rear Eibach 1.5" lowering springs, dimpled front and rear disc brake rotors and Torq-Thrust II 17" ARE wheels.
Out of the 50 Blackbird's made, only two were ordered in red. A seller in Mandeville, Louisiana is offering one of these red beauties (shown here) for sale. GMMG used this car in its promotional film and on the website. It is also signed by notable individuals such as Scott Settlemire, Matt Murphy and Bobby LaBonte. THIS WEEK's TOP VIDEOS
A fascination with the 1980's TV series Knight Rider continues to this day. A Georgia collector built this 1983 Pontiac Trans Am as a very accurate and authentically detailed K.I.T.T. recreation. On the show they called the talking car K.I.T.T., an acronym for Knight Industries Two Thousand. The car had roboticintelligence and computer controlled features. The seller says that literally no expense was spared in recreating K.I.T.T. The car is reported to have a fully functional Windows XP computer system, wireless internet, email, GPS, DVD, satellite radio, retractable touch screen, a fiberglass nose and dash cast from the original NBC molds, front and rear camera system, roll control front braking system, and more. It's just amazing. The seller said he installed a 383 stroker engine creating 450 hp so that it would be as fast as it looked. He proves it with a video he uploaded to our Car Tube Video system. The seller wanted us to let you know that this was the only time the car was taken to a drag strip, just to see what it could do. It did a 13.2 at 106 mph.

HOOD ORNAMENT CONTEST WINNER
Newsletter readers will remember the Hood Ornament contest which we ran in last week's edition of the Cars On Line Daily Update newsletter (click here to access last week's newsletter and review the Hood Ornament Contest details.) We showed you the photo of a hood sculpture and asked if you could name the correct year, make and model. One collector, a man from Livermore, California, filled out the contest form and had the right answer. The hood ornament was from a 1956 Lincoln Premiere. The prize for getting the correct answer is a free Run Till Sold ad, a $45 value, to advertise a vehicle for sale on the Cars On Line website. A 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT (shown above center) from Jacksonville, Florida was formerly an Arizona car and is in the process of restoration. The seller says that the 390 engine and transmission are barely broken in. He mentions that he thinks it is "very likely a pace car," and that the convertible top frame is in perfect shape with its original factory paint. On the right is a rare triple B7 blue 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. Factory bucket seats come with this car along with matching motor numbers. The combination of bucket seats, N96 383 big block and column shift are rare, making it an excellent car to finish restoring.And there's more:

See several Yenko recreations offered by Northwest Auto Sales in North Canton, Ohio, including the Hugger orange 1969 Yenko Camaro (shown above left) equipped with a 427 big block engine, Muncie M-21 4-speed transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. A private seller from St. Charles, Missouri has listed a 1972 Yenko Nova (shown above center) which he says has a 427 big block, 4-barrel carburetor and Muncie M-22 Rockcrusher 4-speed transmission. And a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda recreation was listed from Sealy, Texas. The color is Plum Crazy and it comes with a Pistol grip 4-speed and air conditioning. DEAL OF THE DAY
It is a sign of the times. Prices continue to drop on some very nice collector cars. Newsletter readers know that we feature the best ones here in the DEAL of the DAY preview. In this DEAL of the DAY section of our newsletter we give readers first chance at the best deals among the fresh ads on our website. Then during the coming week you'll see these cars featured on the home page of our website in the DEAL of the DAY graphic that looks like a "rear view mirror."Just when we thought we had the DEAL of the DAY cars all figured out for the week, in comes a 1970 1/2 Camaro Z/28 RS recreation that was so sweet looking we had to feature it here. Yes, it is true that this is a clone, but what a great clone.
The split bumper reproduction comes from Chandler, Arizona and the seller says it has fresh paint with a mirror finish and the desirable spoiler. He says it has a lot of new parts including new tires. It comes modestly equipped with a 350 small black engine and a TH350 automatic transmission. He says the mild rear end is great for daily driving and freeway use. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday, because the asking price is pretty affordable at $15,000. You'll be the talk of your home town with this Hugger orange Camaro.
Even now in a slow economy you never see a classic T-Bird for under $30,000! But here one is ... a very desirable 1956 Ford Thunderbird offered for sale from Mechanicsville, Virginia. The seller says it has the 312 V8 enginewith a 4-barrel
carburetor and automatic transmission. He thinks it may have had one repaint, but other than that thinks this car may be uniquely original. He describes it as being in driver quality condition with older paint. He believes it is nice enough that it does not currently need any mechanical work or bodywork. He says a Continental kit and fender skirts come with the car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday, because the asking price is just $22,500.
This is an awfully nice price on a 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible from Naples, Florida. The seller says he enjoys the car but now feels it is time to pass it
on to someone who has the time to drive it. He calls it reliable and says it has been garaged. The ad indicates it has had a new interior including the front seats, rear seat and door panels. The car has a manual transmission. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. This is the best price I've seen on a Super Beetle in this kind of condition this year. The asking price is only $6,400. We just appraised a project car for that kind of money.

When an old skool custom 1954 Ford Customline was listed this week we talked extensively with the seller from Staten Island, New York. He said he was selling it for a friend and they knew that their asking price was very reasonable. "I know this
car is worth more but I want to make sure whoever buys it is totally satisfied," he said. "The owner needs the money now. I think, if someone comes to look at this car, they will be very pleased." He describes the car as being "lazer straight," with a recently rebuilt 292 V8 engine, tri carbs and an automatic transmission. In the photos you can see side pipes, frenched headlights, louvered hood, shaved door handles, custom grille, fitted skirts, Olds tailights, frenched antenna, dual exhaust, custom body moldings and dummy spots. This car will be our DEAL of the DAY. You have to admit it looks like a lotta' car for just $15,000.
We often talk about street rods as being either "starter cars" or "done cars." Well, once again, here is a "done" street rod that is priced like it was a starter car. It is a 1941 Chevy Coupe from Monticello, Minnesota. The seller says it is a
professionally built 2-Door street rod with a fresh 350 small block and a 4-bolt main, 700R4 transmission and overdrive. He says it even has a polished aluminum intake and new Edelbrock carburetor, lots of chrome, headers, high lift cam, Vintage heat and air conditioning, power steering and new disc brakes. He says it has all new front suspension parts and new rear brakes. Most important, he says it runs and drives excellent. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because this is a lot of car for the money ... only asking $15,900.
Once again this week we have a nice looking 1969 Corvette Coupe for sale and it is at a very nice price for a classic Corvette. The car is for sale by a Corvette dealer in
Waldo, Wisconsin. He says it is a nice driver class car that really looks great in the photos. The non-original motor is a 350 with about 300 hp and an automatic transmission. He says it features tilt telescopic steering, power steering, power brakes and power windows. The dealer says the body, interior and frame are in nice condition. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $13,995.

I was really taken with this black 1965 Chevy El Camino just listed from Osceola, Wisconsin. Doesn't it look sharp in the photos? It looks like it would do you proud. They say it has a built 283, electric fan, Edelbrock 600 carb, and Victor Jr. intake,
camelback heads, electronic ignition, roller rockers, bored .060 and 10.5 to 1 compression. The seller says it has a rebuilt M20 Muncie, new Hurst shifter, new drive shaft, rebuilt 10-bolt rear end with 3.73 Eaton posi unit, new traction bars, air shocks, dual exhaust and new Centerlines.
