Summer may be gone but the Car Show
Season is stuck at full throttle. The Charlotte Autofair, one
of our favorite shows, is coming up this weekend. If you're not
there, you're nowhere. This show will blow you away. See our
Car
Show Calendar or events for more great
shows in your area.
Several times during the past few months
we informed our newsletter readers when the Cars On Line website
set new records for pageviews in one day. Well it happened again
this Labor Day, Monday, September 7. The new one-day record number
of pageviews on the Cars On Line website was 802,054, breaking
the 800,000 mark for the first time. Not too surprisingly, we
have been getting SOLD notifications on some very high
profile cars since Monday. You'll note that a 1951 Mercury Lead
Sled from Clarkston, Michigan was SOLD just two days after
being listed. Buyers are looking and cars are selling. That is
like music to our ears.
FERRARI ITALIA AT FRANKFURT
Like the Hope Diamond under
glass, Ferrari will preview its 2010 458 Italia supercar at the
63rd International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany Sept. 15-27,
2009. The 458 Italia will reportedly eclipse the 200 mph mark
with a 7th gear added. Beneath the hood sits a 4.5-liter V8 engine with direct fuel
injection and low-friction engine components improving fuel efficiency.
Manufacturing methods were borrowed
from the aerospace industry with more magnesium and other exotic
alloys used in the construction. A pair of small black wings
in the front valance flex when the car gains speed, and reform
improving the aerodynamics of the car. Here
is a link to the Ferrari promo video for the 458 Italia.
The Frankfurt Motor Show, as it's commonly known, is one of the
largest and most important international auto shows in Europe.
Companies like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche typically
use the Frankfurt Motor Show as their launching pad for new models.
The Frankfurt Motor Show is organized by the Association of the
German Automotive Industry. Next week we'll preview for you some
of the concept cars scheduled to appear.
THIS WEEK's TOP VIDEOS
One of the best videos we've
seen came in from St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The advertiser does
a nice job with the voice-over as he gives you a tour of his
sharp looking Cardinal red 1966
Pontiac GTO 2-Dr Hardtop. He comments
on the car as he does a walk-around with the camera. He says
it is a #s matching 389 Tri Power with a 4-speed. As he gives
you a tour of the car and starts it up for you to hear, he indicates
that it comes with an original build sheet as well as PHS documents.
Click
here to see the video.
The way to get your car noticed by buyers
is to have prime position on the front page of our website. That
happens every time you include a video with your Cars On Line
ad. All you have to do is have a paid ad on our website, and
we will run your video for no extra charge in the Car Tube video
display on our front page. Just type the video link into your
ad copy with your Run Till Sold or Slide Show ad. It is currently
the best deal on the internet.

WHEELS IN THE PARTS
SECTION
According to Jack Genova owner of Fastlane Speed
& Rod Shop in Mission, Kansas, American Racing wheels
are the most popular brand sold today. And his top selling wheel set is the Torque Thrust II (shown
right) very popular among street rodders and muscle car enthusiasts
alike. One of the reasons it is so popular is that it is affordable.
Fastlane sells more custom hot rod wheels than any
other wheel shop in the Midwest, according to the people at Wheel
Pros. "Putting new wheels on a car is the least expensive
way of changing the look of your car," Genova says. He said
that this year while some parts of his business suffered from
the current economy his wheel business is booming. "People
who normally would maybe buy a fresh ride for the summer car
show season this year decided to buy a new set of wheels instead." You'll find some of the offerings from Fastlane
in the Cars On Line Parts
Section online. Our Wheels
& Tires Page in the Parts Section is brand new. It is a prime time spot to show
off your wheels for sale or buy a set of wheels to give your
car a fresh look. We think this is gonna be HOT!
LOW MILES CARS
Wait till you see what's in our Low
Miles Section today. A sharp black 2003
Chevy Monte Carlo SS (shown above left) was posted from Davenport,
Iowa. The seller says there are only 19,300 actual miles on this
beautiful American sports car. Even more impressive, the asking
price is only $12,000. After 20 years of storage the gorgeous
1956 Chevy 210
2Dr (shown above right) came back to life with a professional
restoration, including new paint, chrome, and interior. The seller
of this classic is located in Shelbyville, Illinois. Roaring
out of Plymouth, Wisconsin is the 1968
Jaguar XKE Coupe. The owner states it is an "unmolested
original" with a 4 speed 4.2 liter engine. It even has A/C!
The asking price for this beauty is $30,000.
Don't miss these low miles cars for sale today in the New
Listings, including these: You'll find hundreds more amazing low-mile treasures
in our Low
Miles Section which is devoted solely to collector cars that
have had loving care and light use.
PROJECT CARS
"This rare beach cruiser needs a new home," the owner
of this 1949
Ford Woody (shown right) out of southern California, says.
Everything has been rebuilt including the paint, wood, and a
rebuilt flathead. You can add the finishing touches. It's on
the market for $60 thousand. It looks like the 1973
Volkswagen Beetle (shown above center) from Coulters, Pennsylvania
may need an interior. They say it is a low miles car that already
has had some bodywork done. Meanwhile, this 1949
Mercury 4-Dr (shown left) is truly a score! The seller in
Helena, Arkansas found it in a barn! It's
showing 35,282 miles with a V8 flathead, 3-speed with overdrive.
The owner is asking $5,000 or best offer.
And there's more:
In looking for a project car to restore,

and nice black interior. The 3" Flowmaster exhaust will
get your heart started. He says it is a great running and driving
car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY
on Sunday, because the asking price is just $14,900.
A basic street rod is considered a starter car, one that needs
better equipment, can be taken to a higher level. Starter cars
are also cheaper to buy on the collector car market. Well here
is a 1937 Chevy
Coupe from Manchester, Tennessee that is priced
like a starter car but is already much more than a starter car.
First of all it is a rumble seat coupe, of which only 800 were
produced by Chevrolet. Then it is said to be an "all steel"
body with glass fenders, adding to the value. The seller says
it has a 327 small block Chevy engine, 350 automatic transmission,
Edelbrock carburetor and manifold, tuck n' roll interior, bucket
seats, tilt steering, floor console shift and a Nova front clip
with disc brakes and power steering. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week ... this
is a lotta' car for the money ... asking just $22,000.
Don't forget! Have these cars inspected
before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's
nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See
the Cars On Line Inspection Service at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html
Something you don't often see in the DEAL
of the DAY feature is a numbers matching car. But
that's exactly how this Kenosha, Wisconsin seller describes his
1973 Corvette
with T-tops. He says it has a numbers matching engine
and transmission. He further describes it as a low mileage and
original survivor car that he says is currently a "driver"
class car. He says it has an all original and clean leather interior
(see photos), tilt-telescopic steering wheel (a big feature in
those days) and factory air conditioning, although he says the
air needs work. He says the SS brakes have been redone as well
as the rear half shafts and leaf spring. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an
asking price of $12,000.
This 1994
Buick Roadmaster Lowrider Station Wagon looks so good pancaked
to the ground ... it is a massive lowrider vehicle. The seller
says it has Air Ride Technologies with 2 air tanks and 2 air
pumps with all new fitting valves, air lines, and no leaks. He says the body has been dropped
2 3/4" and sets all the way on the floor, then lifts up
7" and drives excellent. The rear suspension is a 5-link
while the front has tubular control arms, both upper and lower.
He says he has parts for the interior, like Buck seats, but the
interior needs to be finished. In the ad copy it says that the
engine is an LT1 350 with GM Hot Cam 7 kit, Street & Performance
throttle body, stainless steel headers with Flowmaster mufflers.
The tranny is said to have a mild shift kit. You won't believe
the price. It will be our DEAL of the
DAY next week because this is a lot of car for the
money ... only asking $7,500.
Don't forget! Have these cars inspected
before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's
nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See
the Cars On Line Inspection Service at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html
Any one who is a NASCAR racing fan might be interested to
add this car to their collection ... especially at this price.
A collector from Lees Summit, Missouri has listed an amazing
deal on a 1995
Chevy Monte Carlo NASCAR Pace Car which was actually used as a Festival Car
at the 1995 Brickyard 400 NASCAR Championship race in Speedway,
Indiana. This car is No. 337 out of 400 produced and the seller
says it has only 16k actual miles. Amazing! It has all the Pace
Car accoutrements like embroidered logos on the headrests, logo
floor mats (still in the wrapper), and it comes with the Z-34
HO 3.4 DOHC V6 engine. It comes with all original documentation
saying that it was a Festival Car including track passes and
credentials, plus show displays, etc. The seller describes this
car as being "mint." This may be a once in a lifetime
opportunity ... as our DEAL of the DAY
next week the asking price is only $9,995.
With Pro Street cars so popular you would not expect to see
one in the DEAL of the DAY,
would you? Well here is a 1972
Chevy Nova Pro Street from Franklin,
Indiana that will surprise you. The seller describes it as an
SS tribute because it has the SS badging. But the heart of this
car is a 355 small block Chevy turbocharged, with a 350 turbo
transmission. He says there are less than 200 miles on the car
since a photo documented rebuild was performed. According to
the ad copy, over $19,000 was invested and buyers will get all
receipts with the sale. He says the car is street legal and runs
7.76's in the 8th-mile at 94 mph on pump gas. This car will be
our DEAL of the DAY. Where
will you find a Pro Street of this quality for $18,500.
More cars could have qualified for this week's DEAL
of the DAY feature than we have days to publish them.
Often there are more cars than we can feature on our front page
every week. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for
the DEAL of the DAY feature.
Remember, you saw them here first:
