Prices keep dropping on some very desirable collector cars, making this the second week in a row that buyers have a chance to grab some nice cars at very affordable prices. The Cars On Line Daily Update newsletter is overflowing with great bargains, as evidenced by the choice selections in our DEAL of the DAY feature below.

MAY COULD BE YOUR LAST CHANCE
Anyone who has a collector car to sell should get it on the market now. Traditionally May is the last big month of the spring market. After that the car show season starts. The biggest chunk of buyers already have what they need for the summer car show season by the end of May. June is always a slow month in the auto sales industry.

Here is a link to the Cars On Line ad submission form. You can just fill it out and attach your photos here. If you submit your ad before 4 PM, CST any weekday afternoon, you can be online that same day.

EVENTS CALENDAR UPDATED
The Cars On Line Car Show Calendar has been updated to include a host of shows in July 2007. The big one will be Iola 2007, one of the five largest swap meets in the world, July 12-15, 2007 in tiny Iola, Wisconsin, where they publish Old Cars Weekly magazine. According to the promotional material, there will be 4,428 swap spaces and over 1,000 cars for sale in the Car Corral. The next weekend there will be a Super Chevy Show in Milan, Michigan at the Milan Dragway, July 27-29, 2007.

And don't forget to revisit the June 2007 Calendar. June is the most popular month of the year for car shows and swap meets. Don't miss the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, June 1-3, in York, Pennsylvania; the Goodguys Summer Get Together, June 2-3, 2007 in Pleasanton, California; the Huntington Beach Concours, June 2-3, in Huntington Beach, California; the Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals, June 8-10, Indianapolis, Indiana; the Leake Auction in Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 7-10; the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show, June 14-17, St. Charles, Illinois; Back to the '50s, one of the largest street rod shows in the U.S., June 22-24, St. Paul, Minnesota; the Harley Rendezvous, June 22-24, Mariaville, New York; and so many more.

For information on hundreds of upcoming car shows, road tours, swap meets and auctions close to you, you can rely on the Cars On Line Car Show Calendar. See you next week at the Auburn Motorfair, May 17-20, home of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum and headquarters for Kruse International, the giant collector car auction house in Auburn, Indiana.

PRICE REDUCED ADS
A very rare and desirable 1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 CJ from Cascade, Iowa was just drastically reduced in price. This car is a rare Royal Maroon color and has been painstakingly rotisserie restored. The parts alone were extravagantly expensive. No shortcuts were taken on this restoration. The seller spent so much money on the restoration, but now finds he does not have the time to drive it. This car was recently completed and has never been shown. "It hasn't been driven more than 60 feet since the restoration," the seller says. "I'm a motivated seller," he told us this week. "I want it out of here. I'm gonna make somebody a pretty sweet deal." He just dropped the asking price from $125,000 down to $100,000.

And as we approach the end of the spring market, there are many more stories like this on the Price Changes Page. Whenever you see this Price Changes Page link in the newsletter you can click on it and you will see the fresh PRICE REDUCED ads as they are being discounted. Bookmark it and check it everyday.

PROJECT CARS
Our Project Car Section has become the second most popular classification on our website recently (the most popular is the Camaro Section.) With values so high on "done" cars, people are looking for project cars to restore ... hoping for potential profit. One of the reasons our Project Car Section is so popular is because of listings like this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 SCJ from Edgemont, Arkansas. R code Ram Air cars like this are rare. Here is an opportunity you don't get everyday. The same seller also has a 1969 Mach 1 428 CJ R code project, a Raven black 1969 Mustang Mach 1 R code with a 4-speed, and a 1968 1/2 Mustang GT Fastback R code 4-speed. They are all top going to be big dollar cars if you can complete a restoration.

Another project car is this 1940 Ford 2-Dr Sedan from Bulverde, Texas. It looks like most of the hard work is already done. And a 1941 Midget Race Car was listed from Lena, Wisconsin. It will need everything to put it back into race ready condition again. But it looks like a solid body to begin with.

See many more great project cars as they are listed in real time on the New Listings page.

LOW MILES CARS
The top offering in our Low Miles Section today is a 1981 Pontiac Trans Am from Elm Grove, Wisconsin. The seller says it has just 10,900 original miles. He says it was never driven in winter and describes it as being in almost showroom new condition. It has a 301 Turbo V8, automatic transmission and a 3.07:1 rear axle. It comes with original documentation.

Other low mile treasures include a 1996 Corvette Coupe from Warren, Ohio with only 26k original miles; a 1981 Cadillac Coupe DeVille which they say "still smells new" from CNV Corvette of Tempe, Arizona with 11,700 miles; and a 1985 Mercury Marquis from Orlando Classic Cars of Orlando, Florida with just 24k miles.

See many more pampered treasures in the Cars On Line Low Miles Section online, or stay tuned to the New Listings page where you may see low miles cars listed in real time all weekend and into next week.

Marlene Dietrich persuaded Mercedes to design this special smaller bodied copy of the 500K. This one from Warrensburg, Missouri has only 7k miles, according to the ad copy.

FUTURE CLASSIC ...
One car that was "born to be a collector car" is the Plymouth Prowler. Right now this flamed 1999 Plymouth Prowler from Blossom, Texas is on the cusp of being a collectible. The same is true for a 1999 Plymouth Prowler with trailer from Whitsett, North Carolina.

DEAL OF THE DAY
This is the hot season. We have more DEALs than we have DAYs. For those of you who follow the DEAL of the DAY feature on our home page, you'll be interested to know that we let newsletter readers preview our featured cars here before they hit our pages. Here are the cars that will be in the DEAL of the DAY feature on our home page starting on Saturday.

A Slide Show ad was submitted on a 1972 Camaro Z/28 from Sewell, New Jersey. The price is almost too good to be true. The seller says it is a real Z/28, not a clone. He says there were only 2,575 made. He calls it a solid car, excellent driver, older restoration. It has a 4-speed M21 Muncie transmission, and a 373 posi rear end. It comes with factory shifter and dual snorkle air-cleaner. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday because the asking price is only $19,500. Hurry, and have it inspected right away!

Just in time for camping and summer off-road fun, this 1990 Jeep Wrangler was listed by a Green Bay, Wisconsin seller at a price anybody can afford. The seller says everything works. It has a Quadratec suspension with a lift kit, BDS suspension, shocks all around and Nerf bars. With a 6 cylinder engine and a 5-speed transmission, the seller says it drives excellent. It has tilt steering, AM/FM cassette stereo and 4 brand new BF Goodrich tires on Eagle aluminum wheels. It will be our DEAL of the DAY this weekend with an asking price of only $4,995. Hurry!

Over the past 15 years I've witnessed how rare Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertibles have become. While Chevelles get all the glory in the muscle car market, Oldsmobile Cutlasses are harder to find than Chevelles ... not to mention Cutlass Convertibles. As a future collectible I would recommend looking at this 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible from Sewell, New Jersey. The seller says it is all original and a solid car. It has the 350 Rocket engine, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, factory bucket seats and a console. The body has been restored with new sheet metal, so this would be a good car to have inspected before you buy. The seller says the Ram Air hood is by Troy Thornton. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $20,000.

Another rare Oldsmobile muscle car was listed from Oak Lawn, Illinois. A 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass SX hardtop is offered for sale. It has a W-32 package. The asking price is $18,500.

Sports car enthusiasts know that Mercedes SL convertibles have a rich heritage. They are some of the finest made cars in the world, and are collector cars as soon as they come off the production line in Stuttgart. This 1996 Mercedes SL600 Roadster is a desirable V12 model offered for sale by a private seller from Elkhardt, Indiana. The seller says it has just 44,600 miles and has always been serviced at a Mercedes dealership. It comes with documentation, books and service records. It has 2 tops and comes with a hardtop hoist. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $28,500.

What's better than a first generation Camaro Convertible? Why, a first generation Pontiac Firebird Convertible, of course. Although Camaros get all the attention in the muscle car hobby, Firebirds were actually better cars. This 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible is offered for sale from Orleans, Indiana. The seller says it has a numbers matching 350, automatic transmission, air conditioning and power steering. He describes it as being an original, untouched car. He says the floors, trunk, top and interior are perfect. He indicates that it will need paint. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is $16,000 ... right on the money.

Remember, even at these low prices, it is still a good idea to have a car inspected. You can contact our inspection office at 1-800-880-5105 by phone or see our webpage at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html. You can even place your order right there online.

From an estate sale in northern Wisconsin comes this 1965 VW Karmann Ghia. The ad copy does not say a lot about the car, but we know that it has been restored and looks pretty good in the photos. The copy says it is in good condition. This would be one to have a pre-purchase inspection done so that you know exactly what you're getting into. But there is room to make money on this one. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week if it lasts that long. The asking price is $6,000.

A Robbins Egg blue 1958 Ford Thunderbird looks good in the photos. The seller from Dearborn, Michigan describes it as a "pleasure cruiser." He says it has a professionally rebuilt 390 engine with new 4-barrel carburetor. The car is said to have 74k original miles. He says he has pictures of the restoration work available for the prospective buyer to see. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The asking price is $9,500.

Although the following cars did not make the cut to be in our DEAL of the DAY feature this coming week, these are some very good cars for the money. A 1948 Ford Sedan mild custom from San Antonio, Texas has been listed for $16,000; a 1977 MG Midget from Potterville, Michigan will sell for $3,900; a beautiful yellow 1993 Corvette with 28k miles will sell for $14,900; and a white 1981 Corvette with blact T-tops from Beacon Falls, Connecticut looks so sharp you can hardly believe you could buy it for just $11,900.

SOLDS
Here are some of the comments from happy sellers who were nice enough to tell us about their experience advertising on the Cars On Line website.

... BEST WEBSITE TO SELL CLASSIC CARS... PERIOD! ...
"This is the best website to sell classic cars.. period! I sold my super rare Twister Mustang in no time!" The Ottawa, Kansas advertiser said he SOLD his 1970 Mustang Mach 1 Twister using a Run-Till-Sold ad.

A Suamico, Wisconsin advertiser SOLD a 1971 Chevelle with a Run-Till-Sold ad. He told us, "Had tons of great leads! Buyer was thrilled with the car and got a great deal!"

"Cars On Line, best place to sell a car. I recommend this site to anyone who wants to sell." -- An Fredericksburg, Texas advertiser told us when he SOLD his 1951 Ford Custom.

A Gilbert, Arizona customer who SOLD her 1957 Porsche 550 Chamonix Spyder. "Thank you very much. Your website created a lot of interest in this vehicle!"

We SOLD a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT for a Bosque Farms, New Mexico customer of ours. "When it rains it pours" he said. "The ad was placed, and not a word was heard from anyone for about 14 days, and then within 24 hours we had 5 prospective buyers e-mailing and calling. The first caller overnighted a cashiers check for the entire amount to ensure that we knew he was serious."

A 1970 Dodge Super Bee was SOLD thru Cars On Line for a Grand Junction, Colorado customer who said, "Going to a good home to the right guy!" Comments like these prove that Cars On Line is home to the serious classic and specialty car collector. We have a similar story from a Derby, Connecticut customer who told us "Thanks again for delivering a quality buyer," when he SOLD his 1966 Ford Mustang thru a Cars On Line ad.

"Buyer bought the auto unseen. Truely a conoisseur of fine automobiles," wrote a seller from Massillon, Ohio as he SOLD his 1971 Triumph TR-6 through a Cars On Line ad.

"Another project sold thanks to Cars On Line. I'm always amazed at how many hits I get with one of your ads." -- Falls Creek, Pennsylvania man who SOLD his 1949 Cadillac Model 62 through Cars On Line.

We SOLD a 1978 Lincoln Town Car for a Boston, Massachusetts customer. He told us, "It was a great way to sell my car locally, I got my asking price. No tire kickers. The first person who came to see her, bought her." This is a great example of how Cars On Line has local and global coverage, you may get a buyer from across the states or overseas or even your next door neighbor may see your vehicle on Cars On Line and not realize he's right next door to you!

Below is the list of cars SOLD Thru Cars On Line during the past week (May 4, 2007 - May 10, 2007.)

FREE! PARTS ADS ... ALSO INCLUDES WANTED-TO-BUY
People are starting to let us know that their parts are selling through our new and improved Parts Section. It is a kick to see so many people using our Parts Listings. And we are getting good feedback about results.

Remember, we also have the Wanted-To-Buy ads which are very useful. The Wanted-To-Buy ads are for people who are looking for a specific car that they just can't find through regular sources. Maybe its very rare, or they don't exist in your part of the country. Almost everybody is looking for something. It is a locator service for rare collector cars. Newsletter readers are encouraged to take advantage of the Wanted-To-Buy ads as well.

For a limited time, you can run parts for sale ads, parts wanted ads and wanted-to-buy ads for FREE! That's right, at no charge. Check it out. Just click to go to the Parts Section. Once there, you can see all the classic car parts for sale or click on the red box that says NEW POST to submit your own FREE! classified parts ad.
