In the collector car market, Ford is the most popular brand for which collectors are looking. Although Chevrolet collectors are generally considered to be very active in the market, a high percentage of those looking for what we consider to be "classic" or pre-1960 cars are looking for Fords. In the sampling of statistics we pulled off of Google and Bing search engines for November, we found that 21.6 percent of all buyers who were looking for pre-1960 classic cars were looking for Fords. Model A and Model T Fords were the most sought after, but '50s and '60s Ford F100 pickup trucks were also very popular in keyword searches. You can see by our graphic that Packard was in second place, and classic Chevrolets are in third place in popularity.

The most popular muscle car once again was the Chevrolet Camaro. We do a separate analysis just for the muscle car era cars (see chart above). It is no surprise that Camaro is No. 1 among muscle car buyers. Up until October of this year the Pontiac GTO had been the most desirable muscle car to buy. But in November Camaro regained the top position as 18.7 percent of all buyers in the muscle car market were looking for the Chevy pony car. The 1969 model year Camaro is the most sought after.
Blame it on the economy or whatever you want at this point ... the fact is there are a lot of collector cars being marketed at reduced price levels. Of course, that means that there are some great deals available in this edition of the Cars On Line Daily Update newsletter. It's almost like we could throw darts to pick the DEAL of the DAY this week. Most of these cars are way below blue book value. Check the muscle cars below and you'll see what I mean. There is a Tiger gold GTO Convertible listed that I don't expect will last the weekend. See if you can find it.
And don't miss the FEATURED LISTINGS below. They are from the new listings on the Cars On Line website. There are many fresh classic customs, classic pickup trucks and motorcycles posted in the new listings.
Hendrick Performance in Concord, North Carolina has posted a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454/450 hp muscle car, and it is a rare special order color called Carolina Blue. When you read the description of this beautiful Chevelle muscle car you begin to understand the authenticity of
the documentation. You'll note that it says it was restored in 2005 and that the 454 is numbers matching. They say the special order color and color code are noted on the factory build sheet which itself is in excellent condition (see photos in the ad which include a picture of the build sheet.) They say the chassis, suspension, brake system and drivetrain have all passed an intensive and thorough inspection by one of the Hendrick Performance trained restoration specialists. They have technicians that are devoted to these cars, each having over 35 years of experience. Hendrick Performance is one of the enterprises started by Rick Hendrick, Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner. He is a big collector, and he says that every car that you buy from Hendrick Performance has been given the same type of attention and care that his race cars receive.
Another North Carolina dealer that is making big waves in the collector car market is RK Motors Charlotte. This week they have listed a rare, Candy Apple red 1969 Boss 429 Mustang which they say is a real KK NASCAR edition. We looked at the price and considered
whether this one should be a DEAL of the DAY. It is listed way below what these cars are going for at auctions. Click here for a detailed walk-around tour of this great muscle car, and hear it run. It's like you are right there listening to the monster 429 ci engine. It has a warranty replacement motor, according to the description. They say it was built .030 over and produces an estimated 500+ hp. They describe the restoration process in detail, and note that it was carefully restored and displays excellent fit and finish. The say the engine bay is authentic and close to original with the original radiator and oil cooler intact. It transitions power through a close ratio 4-speed transmission, and they say it has the original driveshaft spinning the original Ford 9" Traction-Lok rear end that is complete with asphalt shredding 3.90 gears and an original metal maintenance tag. This most desirable Ford muscle car is time captured in a bottle.
Newsletter readers will be interested in a small classic car dealership in Marietta, Georgia that just joined our Cars On Line Dealer Network. Classic Investments has a choice inventory of collector cars. One that caught our eye is a 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible with the V12
engine. This classic Lincoln has been voted one of the best designed cars of that era by the Museum of Modern Art. Time magazine rated it one of the top ten best-designed commercial products. They say it was the brainchild of Edsel Ford. It was Ford's way to compete with Cadillac in the luxury car market. These convertibles were considered the playthings of the rich and famous. It was the first model to have the "Continental kit" spare tire compartment in the trunk lid. It also had molded-in fender skirt treatments. Finished in stunning Midnight blue with Saddle tan leather interior and tan top, this is a rare example of a Southern classic. They say it underwent a $75,000 frame-off restoration including exterior, interior, top, brightwork and mechanics. They say it is now ready to show or tour. To see more from the inventory at Classic Investments click this link.
They say big money was invested in this 1960 Mercury Monterey from Cooper City, Florida. The seller describes it as being in show quality condition. It is a rare one. He included a video in
his ad. Click here to view the video. You get a sense of the detail in the restoration as you watch the video. Notice the interior, doors, seats and dash. You can hear the engine runs as he starts it. He says it has dual exhaust from the manifolds back. This car has a most interesting roofline with a back window design that is very unusual. He says the restoration consisted of a fresh high end basecoat, clearcoat paint, seats recovered in original fabric, all glass replaced along with weather stripping, gaskets and window felts. The engine is now a 302 4V and it has a C4 transmission.

This is where it pays to read this newsletter. A 1957 Corvette Convertible had been listed by a private seller from Santa Monica, California. The seller says it runs like a charm and is the perfect driver. Now this is interesting. According to the ad it says it has a 283 Fuelie engine.
There is no claim that this engine was original to the car, so you might want to ask all those pertinent questions. The color is the popular Cascade green, and the seller says it has a 4-speed manual transmission, Y-50 mirrors, Wonderbar radio, heater, spare tire, trunk with rubber mat, trunk liner, T-3 headlights and tachometer. It is nicely equipped. The seller says he has documentation from 1989 forward. He originally listed this classic Corvette for $105,000. But today it has a PRICE REDUCED tag on it. And the new asking price is $75,000. Now, that's what I'm talkin' about.

Wow! Here is a rare one. When is the last time you saw a 1934 Oldsmobile Convertible Coupe in this kind of condition? The sales representative is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and he says this is an AACA Senior Grand National winner. In fact, the list of shows it has won is staggering.
Fastlane Classic Cars from St. Charles, Missouri have listed a rare car that is obviously well appointed. It is a 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe Convertible that comes with fender skirts, a Flat 6 cylinder motor and 3-speed transmission. You will note that it has a power top. They say it has only 54k miles.
Streetside Classics in Atlanta, Georgia also listed a few important classic cars. Here is a 1933 Buick Series 90-L Sedan. In 1933, only 338 units were built like this. It is appointed with 4 chrome-plated outsider rear view mirrors, side mounted tires with metal covers and a spotlight. Thank goodness they include a video on this one.

When this 1932 Ford Kugel Speedster shows up all the other cars go unnoticed. Classic Car Studio in St. Louis, Missouri acquires some of the finest customs and street rods for their inventory. They say this Speedster has a Zipper body with stretched interior and doors. The result is breathtaking.
Our newest member of the Cars On Line Dealer Network, Classic Investments in Marietta, Georgia, listed a head-turning 1940 Ford Coupe street rod. The builder tweaked the fat fendered look into a molded-in muscular design. What a powerful look and stance. They say it has a supercharged 350 producing 600 hp.
A flamed 1932 Ford Roadster has been listed by Classic Car Marketing. Their exclusive clientele offers high end street rods and customs from the Southern California area. This one uses a Deuce frame front end, Currie rear and ZZ383 motor. They say it was built by Barry White and his SRRC.
Classic Car Marketing also listed this interesting 1940 Ford 2-Dr Sedan that is mostly stock original but has an Art Chrisman built blown Flathead. Otherwise the car remains as it did back in 1940. As the story goes this car remained at the Kansas City dealers showroom for 30 years before it was first sold.
The essence of old school is this 1932 Ford 5-Window Hot Rod that has been listed by Classical Gas Enterprises in Texas. They say it remains all steel and unchopped as original. But now it has a 350 V8 small block with finned valve covers and uses F100 brakes. You'll get what we mean when you view the video on the 2nd page.
Classical Gas also is offering a 1936 Ford 3-Window Coupe. It looks so original you'd like to call it a resto rod. The most interesting part of this car, though, is it's look and stance. They say it is all steel, but has an Outlaw chassis and Air Ride suspension with a 3 1/2" chop. Click here to view the video.

Harken back to the days when the Jaguar XKE was the most exotic car on the road. It has a little more competition now but this Salsa red 2007 Jaguar XK-R is still a handful of exotic beauty. It comes with a 4.2L supercharged motor, and they say it has all the power options. It is listed by a private seller from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Braaten Classic Auto in Rochester, Minnesota has listed a 2007 Shelby GT500 for a nice price. The listed price is $29,999. Indeed, they say it is a supercharged 500+ hp Pony with a zest for the road. They assure that it is the real deal even though the price is right.

Cars On Line's

PREVIEWIn the popular DEAL of the DAY preview we give you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY "rear view mirror" seen daily on the Cars On Line home page. Our fans wait eagerly each day to see which bargains will be highlighted. But often these cars sell right here in the preview. If you aren't a newsletter subscriber you'll never know what you're missing. Newsletter readers are able to preview the best bargains on our website right here in the DEAL of the DAY feature. You'll always see it here first.
For some reason Mercury muscle cars are the "Rodney Dangerfields" of the collector car industry. They just "can't get no respect." If you put a bowtie on them they're worth five times
the value. And Mercury made some great muscle cars. For example, here is a 1969 Mercury Cyclone that was recently listed by Classical Gas Enterprises in Texas. The consignor provides a lot of important information in a walk-around video. Click here to view the video. Notice the gaps and fitment on this car. You won't see it in the photos, but the video really shows the fit and finish. The seller calls it "perfect." They say it has low mileage and is on its third owner. We thought it was the best deal of the week, so it will be our DEAL of the DAY for Saturday. The asking price is only $17,900.
On Sunday the DEAL of the DAY will be a rare 1941 Ford Super Deluxe from Cincinnati,
Ohio. The private seller says it remains unrestored and still looks very nice in the photos. Because of the war, auto production was interupted in '41. These cars are hard to come by. He says it was in a museum for 30 years. In the description it says this car has a new 59ab Flathead motor, new mechanicals including brakes, exhaust, electricals, tires and more. It even has the 12-volt conversion completed. He says it starts and drives like new. The ad says it has no rust and still has the original paint and interior. It is priced very affordably at $10,500.
Arnold (pronounced Ahh-nuld) would approve. It would have looked good as the Terminator's choice of rides. Here is a 2002 Harley-Davidson Fatboy that
was listed by Illinois based 121 Motorsports. They often list special deals on motorcycles that are priced so right that they don't last long enough for us to get them on our front page in the DEAL of the DAY rear view mirror. This is how you want your Fatboy to look ... low and with lots of chrome. Fat FL forks, 7" chrome headlamp, big floor boards and broad handlebars get you recognized. Everyone knows this look. Of course, it's black. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. Their asking price is $9,995.
Don't forget! Have these cars inspected before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See the Cars On Line Inspection Service at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html
If Studebaker was anything it was way ahead of its time. During the '50s and early '60s their design team created some of the most aerodynamic bodies of the era. As designers like Brook Stevens got involved with their projects, Studebaker embraced European design concepts that no other American company would consider. There is no car that better demonstrated this idea
than the 1963 Studebaker Avanti R1. The one that you see here was listed out of Phoenix, Arizona. The seller says it lived its life in the Arizona, California climate. It is Turquoise with a tan interior. Notice how clean this car looks in the photos. According to the description it has the 289/240 hp engine, automatic transmission, power disc brakes, power steering and air conditioning. I remember when I was in high school and my brother-in-law bought one of these. What was most notable about these cars was their cornering and handling. We heard you could take a pretty hairy corner at 80 miles an hour. So we had to check it out. This ground breaking car is a piece of history. Yet, this week it will be our DEAL of the DAY because you can buy this one for just $8,500. Hurry!
One of the most popular cars in Mopar history has been the Dodge Dart. There are countless stories that people have about these cars, and almost everyone has known somebody who has had one. For the most part they were inexpensive transportation back in the day. But because
of their light weight they have always been a fast sports car, especially when they have a V8. Here is a 1964 Dodge Dart GT Convertible from East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Basically the seller describes it as a driver that still looks very nice. He says it has the original factory 273 V8 with a Push Button controlled Torqueflite transmission. He says the exterior has been repainted original metallic blue, and the power top works well, but the material is fading. Anything that's this much fun and can be had for a reasonable price should be in our DEAL of the DAY. You'll find it in the "rear view mirror" on our front page next week because the askingk price is only $8,950.
Don't forget! Have these cars inspected before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you. See the Cars On Line Inspection Service at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html
