TOKYO AUTO SHOW
At the Tokyo Auto Show in Chiba City, Japan, Mazda unveiled its
newest design in concept cars, the Mazda Taiki. It is the fourth
concept car in the Nagare design series for Mazda. The car is
an uncommon expression
of Japanese culture. It indeed looks like a sculpted piece of
artwork. It is a rear wheel drive car with sweeping functional
aerodynamics. The Taiki also introduces the next-generation Renesis
rotary engine, which sets new standards for environmental and
driving performance. The word "taiki" in Japanese refers
to the earth's atmosphere which wraps the earth in its protective
mantle. The car has an all glass canopy.
The 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 is happening now at Makuhari
Messe in Chiba City for 17 days through November 11th. This show
has achieved a par in importance with the Los Angeles and Detroit
Auto Shows in America and the Geneva Auto Show in Europe.
DEAL OF THE DAY
Prices are dropping so fast
this week we decided to give a special priority to the DEAL of the DAY
section of this Cars On Line
Daily Update
newsletter. This week we've moved the DEAL
of the DAY to the top of the
newsletter. You might as well see the best news first. If you
are a buyer, you'll want to get to these cars before some other
lucky collector gets wind of these incredible values.
Better grab the phone while you read
this ad. You're gonna need it. Check out this 1970
Mustang Mach 1 from Fallbrook, California.
The seller says the car looks very presentable from 20 feet
away. Just look at the photos. Yet in many ways this would be
considered a project car. It needs front end work to be road
worthy. Currently it can't be driven. But he says the 351 Cleveland
engine fires right up and the transmission shifts okay. He says
the front end needs to be repaired right away, but there is also
more that this car will need, including bodywork. At some point
it will need a complete restoration. You can see a lot of the
problems by clicking the link in this ad and going to his special
photos page. But here's why it is in our DEAL
of the DAY this week. They are
only asking $9,000! Hurry!
Among the classic cars in today's New
Listings there is a 1955
Dodge Custom Royal Lancer which was listed by a collector
from Austin, Minnesota. The Custom Royal Lancer is a very desirable
early Mopar. They are extremely hard to find. The seller says
this one is all original with 67k miles. The tri-tone paint was very
popular at the time, and is one of those color combinations that
you found only in that era. The colors are coral, black and white.
The seller says there are some stone chips in the paint. He indicates
that he believes this to be a rust free car. It has the 270 cubic
inch Hemi V8 with a Power Flite automatic transmission. He says
the chrome and stainless are excellent. Notice it has spinner
wheel covers. It will be our DEAL of the DAY
next week. The asking price is $11,950.
Don't forget! Have these cars inspected
before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's
nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you.
Goat lovers unite! Here's the best deal
on a GTO we've seen lately. A 1970
Pontiac GTO was listed out of Ponte
Vedra Beach, Florida. The seller says the engine is a strong
running 400 cubic inch power plant with a TH400 automatic
transmission. He says the engine is NOM, or not original to the
car. It has Pontiac Rally wheels with new tires. He says it runs
and drives very well. A year ago you would never have guessed
you could acquire such a car for this price. But the owner says
he must sell now. It will be our
DEAL of the DAY next week because the asking price is just
$21,900.
It is rare that we would have a Porsche
911 in the DEAL of the DAY section of the newsletter. But today is that day. Here is a 1977 Porsche 911
S from Bridgewater, New Jersey. According
to the seller, the car "runs great and looks good."
It has a ducktail hood and a whale tale spoiler, however the
original hood that came with this car is included. He says this
car was well cared for and that makes it an interesting vehicle
for collectors. It is an excellent starter car for any sports
car collection. You get classic Porsche looks and handling. It
will be our DEAL of the DAY for a price of just $8,750.
Remember, even at these low prices,
it is still a good idea to have a car inspected. See our webpage
at http://www.cars-on-line.com/insp-1stpg.html. You can even place your order right there
online.
There are a number of really nice customs
in today's fresh listings. But you won't find one at this price
anywhere. A 1951
Chevy 2-Door Custom Sedan was listed
by a Two Rivers, Wisconsin hobbyist. It features a 1960 Ford Thunderbird
leather interior, frenched head lights and tail lights, and a
custom trunk and engine compartment. The Lake pipes are functional.
The seller says it is an excellent runner. He says it has just
69,905 miles on the car. It has a 6 cylinder engine and a manual
3-speed on the column. It is a very attractive buy as our DEAL of the DAY,
since the asking price is $12,500.
By the late '60s Mercury was no longer
making a whole lot of convertible models. Yet when the Marquis
model first came out Mercury offered a 2-Door convertible version.
There were only 2,319 of them produced that first year.
Try to find one today. Here is a black 1969
Mercury Marquis Convertible that was
offered for sale by a collector from Emo, Ontario in Canada.
This one has the original 429 c.i. V8 engine, automatic transmission,
power steering, power brakes, power top, power seats and AM radio.
The seller says the odometer has just 30,246 miles. He says the
interior is in good condition with only minor wear on the seats
and dash. The convertible top has recently been replaced. The
rear window is older and shows some minor wear, the undercarriage
and chassis are in good condition with only minor surface rust.
It will be our DEAL
of the DAY next week. They are
asking $11,900.
If you've always wanted to own a Ford Lightning pickup truck,
here is your opportunity to get one at an affordable price. This
1993 Ford Lightning
was listed by a seller from Laredo, Texas. This truck has many upgrades to improve performance
including a 5.8L V8 engine with GT-40 heads, Basani headers and
dual Flowmaster mufflers. The seller says the tires have less
than 2k miles of wear on them. He is selling the truck because
he says he has too many toys. He says the paint on the hood and
roof is faded but that there is absolutely no rust on this truck.
The interior is in very good condition. It will be our
DEAL of the DAY next week. His price is $4,800.
Look at how many vehicles just barely
missed making the DEAL of the
DAY feature this week (below.)
We could have done two deals for every day. For instance, you'll
see a 1968
Ford Fairlane Convertible from Seattle,
Washington with a 302 ci engine, automatic and air for only $13,500.

KUDOS TO GATEWAY CLASSIC
CARS
When Gateway Classic Cars out of St. Louis, Missouri updated
their inventory on our site yesterday they checked off their
SOLDs for the past month or so. Holy Cow, they SOLD
49 cars! That's got to be some kind of record. We are proud to
say that they are a member of our Dealer Network. We have a special
program for classic car dealers that allows them to use our website
as a search engine. Their links will appear in our quick searches
and in our menus when buyers are looking for a special car. The
program is very popular among classic car dealers. Our classic
car dealer network comprises about 13 percent of the Cars On
Line website.
LOW MILES SECTION
This 1955
Plymouth Belvedere from Austin, Minnesota is said to have
won an AACA National 1st Place award. It has the 260 V8 engine
with an automatic Power Flite transmission. These '50s classics
are not easy to find for resale and seldom are in show quality
condition. You may want to have it inspected to see if it could
be the car of your dreams. The seller states that it is all original
with only 9,500 actual miles!
For the second week in a row a 1978
Corvette Indy Pace Car was listed with amazingly low miles.
You know, when these cars were promoted at Chevrolet dealerships
in 1978, auto salesmen would tell you that these were going
to be collector cars from the day they were born. In the early
'80s we would find people selling them with under 100 miles on
them. They would buy them and immediately put them in storage
thinking they would go up in value. Of course, no collector cars
ever go up in value that quickly, so they eventually would appear
on the market with unbelievably low miles. This one from Orleans,
Indiana is said to have only 562 actual miles.
A 1986 Chevy
Monte Carlo SS from Wasilla, Alaska was listed for sale.
It runs and drives like new, says the seller. And he says it
only has 48k miles. A 1979
Pontiac Trans Am was listed from Georgetown, South Carolina.
They say it is a rare 4-speed car and that it has only 37k actual
miles.
See more low miles cars on the Cars On Line New
Listings page where they are posted in real time as the ads
come in. Or check out all the pampered treasures in the Low
Miles Section online.
PROJECT CARS
Here is an awfully good start
on a 1968
Hurst Hemi Dart recreation. It is currently
being offered for sale out of Hampton, Georgia.
The seller says it is a fine example of a nut and bolt restoration.
If you have it inspected you might find that it is a relatively
easy one to finish. And it should have a high value. Another
restoration project that looks like it would be an easy one to
finish is this 1968
Pontiac Firebird from Las Vegas, Nevada.
It is a 455 big block car. It has a Ford 9" rear end and
4:10 gears.
There are a couple of classic heavy
duty vehicles that were probably used for commercial purposes
back in the day. A 1932
Diamond T from Emo, Ontario, Canada
is said to need restoration although it is supposed to be mechanically
in very good condition. A 1953
Dodge Oltman Bakery delivery truck
was also listed from Spring Grove, Illinois.
What might be a more difficult project,
but one well worth doing is the 1970
Chevelle SS big block 396 car from
Evansville, Indiana. The seller says it comes with two build
sheets. The 1931
Ford Tudor from New Hope, Pennsylvania
could be restored to original or made into a street rod.
You can look at hundreds of project
cars for sale in the Project
Car Section online.
