Collector cars are selling cars at warp speed. Four of the cars we were going to feature here in the newsletter today were SOLD while we were writing the copy. Wpfewww!! Those were some quick sales. With all the buyers hitting our site over the holidays we are now seeing those cars and trucks disappear from our listings. Be sure to check out the SOLD thru Cars On Line feature below to see what has been selling this week.

Over the holidays you may remember that we set a new record for most hits in one day following Christmas. We received 833,280 page views on December 30. We were thrilled with those numbers because it has never happened before on our website. Well, hold on. On January 1, the first day of the 2010 New Year, we broke the record again. Only this time we smashed the previous record. On the first day of the year, we hit 933,176 page views!!! Now that's a lot of buyers looking for collector and specialty cars. So we knew that record numbers of SOLDs would ensue. During the 15 years that Cars On Line has been publishing this website we have never seen that level of activity. You can just sense that something good is happening in the collector car market. 2010 is gonna' be a great year! Do you realize we are at the threshold of a million page views in one day?

CUSTOM CHEVY TIKI SUBURBAN
Surf's up, dude!
Open a cold one ... yer gonna be lookin' at this ad for a while. This will no doubt be one of the wildest customs you've ever seen on the pages of the Cars On Line.com website. A 1965 Chevy Suburban was listed by a collector from Austin, Texas. The truck is the creation of House O' Speed owner Cameron Day. From artistic concept to real metal custom this car was painstakingly rebuilt in a Tiki Southwest Islands "surfer" theme. Details such as, vintage Hawaiian bark cloth front door panels and the custom sea grass floor mats were included. Kustom tiki heads were individually hand-carved by House O' Speed and hand-painted by tiki artist Cindy "CRASH" Rashcke, who is also behind the "infinite" exterior and interior bamboo and tiki touches. The custom roof rack alone is an engineering marvel, with a swing down ladder that allows the roof's deck to be used as a lounging area. The truck's two rear benches are designed to mount onto the roof. But don't be deceived. The seller describes the arduous five-year restoration project as a labor of love. He says you can drive it anywhere. The SLIDE SHOW ad will amaze you. You'll see it in the Classic Customs Section of our website.

NEW DEALERS WITH AFFORDABLE LISTINGS
As the new year unveils itself we have a couple of new classic car dealers to introduce to you. Both of these dealers have very affordable classics in their inventory. First, let's welcome Country Classic Cars out of Staunton, Illinois. They offer a variety of reasonably priced driver class cars like this 1966 Chevelle Convertible which they have listed for sale. They say the car not only looks good, but also runs and drives very nice. View the photos and you will know that this car is not show quality. But the asking price is only $18,950 ... for a Chevelle convertible! Country Classics also has a good variety of classic cars and classic customs that are all set to be restored. Click here to view a sampling of their inventory.

Another classic car dealer who has some affordable classics for sale is JSA Classics out of Greene, Iowa. JSA Classics specializes in finding interesting project cars for restoration. Today you'll find their cars displayed in our Project Cars Section. In fact, they just posted a 1947 Chevrolet 2-Dr Fleetmaster which they say is an actual "barn find." The classic Chevy was known as a Town & Country sedan in its day. The motor has been updated to an inline 6 cylinder and they say it comes with a good title. This project will be cheap to get started. The asking price is only $1,950. Click this link to view more interesting project cars from JSA Classics.

Be sure to review the CARS FOR $10,000-AND-UNDER Feature below. Very affordable driver quality cars are flooding in this week.

TOP VIDEO ADS THIS WEEK
More superb videos are coming in everyday. We always like to view the videos produced by Flemings Ultimate Garage of Rockville, Maryland. They were one of the first classic muscle car dealers in the country to use video successfully. One of the reasons their videos stand out is that they always tells the story of the car. They never fail to tell you the interesting facts about the cars and give you information about how to make good decisions on buying similar cars. One week they'll tell you about a Hemi Cuda and the next week they'll give you the inside story on buying exotic Porsches. True to form, this week they are featuring a 2007 Bentley Flying Spur. You'll notice that they embed the video in their ad copy at the bottom. You just have to click the play button to view their pro quality video. Be sure to have your sound turned up so you can hear what they have to say about this beautiful and historic luxury car. Or click here to watch the informative video and get the inside story on this modern day luxury car that was born to be a classic. The seller from North Augusta, South Carolina says this car has only 30k miles. A 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible (above right) was posted by The Auto Collections in Las Vegas. PROJECT CARS

1970 Dodge Charger
#s matching 440 6 Pack

1959 Jaguar Mark IX
3.8 inline 6 cylinder

1958 Plymouth Suburban
rare, barn find

We've never seen this kind of action in our Project Car Section before. The category is smokin' hot this week. A 1970 Dodge Charger (shown above left) has been listed by MacLean Classics, a restoration facility in Caledon, Ontario, Canada. You could not ask for a better project car. They say it has the V code 440 engine, with a 6 Pack, 4-speed and Dana Super Track Pack option. Amazing find! One of our new dealers, JSA Classics out of Greene, Iowa, posted a neat 1959 Jaguar Mark IX Saloon (above center.) Try to find one of these to restore. It is a big Jaguar bodied car, a baby Rolls Royce. They say it comes with a factory 3.8L inline 6 cylinder engine. And there is also a rare barn find ... a 1958 Plymouth Suburban actually found in storage, now for sale at Country Classics in Staunton, Illinois. They say the classic station wagon actually runs and drives well, and comes with a push button automatic.

Man, are there a lot of interesting project cars being listed. As we were getting ready to send this newsletter out we spotted a 1956 Chevy Bel Air Convertible project car that could possibly be a world class custom some day. It is from Sacramento, California. The seller says all the hard work is done. He says over $185,000 has already been invested. He says it has an Art Morrison front chassis and custom fabricated rear with C5 suspension at all corners. The motor is an LS7. The ad includes an artist's rendition of what the car should look like when it is done. It takes your breath away.

HEADS UP: As we were about to publish this newsletter we found this "diamond in the rough." Here is a 1951 Studebaker Starlight Coupe that was posted by Carson Restorations (mentioned above.) They say it is a very solid car with no need for panel replacement. That is unusual. Where these cars get soft is around the headlight coves and bezels. They say this one is solid, and would make a perfect restoration candidate. They say the floor pan and frame are solid and that the glass and chrome are good. The car needs front seats.

In looking for a project car to restore, make sure you watch our New Listings page for daily updates. Or you can find hundreds of project cars for sale now in the Cars On Line Project Car Section online.

VINTAGE AMERICAN CLASSICS ...

You talk about a rare antique ... Valenti Classics in Caledonia, Wisconsin surprised us this week when they listed a 1929 Franklin Series 135 Sedan for sale. This is an elegant 5-passenger model with a 125" wheelbase, powered by a 248 ci 6 cylinder and 3-speed manual transmission. It has windshield wipers and wood spoke rims.

A true luxury class car, it is a six-passenger, powered by a big 305ci.-130hp, 12 cylinder engine. They say it has a clock, AM radio, power front windows, fog/driving lamps and a heater.

A private seller from Valrico, Florida posted this rare 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Convertible. He says the 6 cylinder engine and three-speed manual transmission run well. He indicates that there is no rust on this car.

Oh, man, this 1927 Ford Model T Touring car looks so good, we just had to show you this one. My dad had one of these. When he went into town he'd put baffles on it so it would sound like a race car. CHEVROLET MUSCLE CARS ...

But R & H Motorcars is about more than exotics, they also offer some very rare muscle cars there in Eastlake. For instance, here is a 1970 Chevelle SS L78 they just listed. They say it is heavily optioned and comes with 2 built sheets for documentation.

CLASSIC CUSTOMS ...

Among a really nice selection of mild customs this week here is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop from Ft. Myers, Florida. The snappy looking custom paint really sets it off, and it has a Barry Grant tripower carb setup. They say it has undergone a frame up restoration.

The stance on this 1948 Studebaker/Chevy Custom is enhanced by its more modern stepside box. I've gotta' hand it to the builder, that's a nice look. It has a Chevy 454 motor with a 700R4 overdrive, 8" Ford rearend with 308 gears and Nova subframe with disc brakes.

A 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop custom from Houston, Texas is very nicely executed. The lines are near perfect. With Corvette aluminum crate engine, Doug's headers and Boyd wheels, you can see why the seller says it wins major shows where ever it goes.

You can appreciate all the work that went into this 1963 Ford Falcon Ranchero from Descanso, California. From the new crate 5.0 EFI motor, 5-speed trans, to Vintage Air, Heidts front end and disc front brakes ... this little custom is well worth a second look.

Another 1963 Plymouth Savoy nostalgia drag car was posted from Livermore, Kentucky. This one has a 440 big block with a 4-speed and big 391 gears. The drag racing trim is mostly for looks. It has been set up to run on the street.

P.J.'s Auto World has listed a 1941 Willys Gasser. They say this car was just finished and has only 800 test miles on it. Although it was built mostly for show it does have the guts. Read about the fuel injected 540 Dart block with Canfield heads.

A 1964 Chevy Impala SS Gasser was listed from Reno, Nevada. The seller says this is a serious race car a tilt front end. The body panels are said to be all real steel. It has ladder bars and a blown 327 engine and a Powerglide. See more for sale in the Drag Racing Section.

CLASSIC PICKUP TRUCKS ...

From the description this sounds like a very nicely done restoration by someone who really valued this 1959 Chevy Apache. As the Roanoke, Texas seller points out, this is the Deluxe cab Big Window pickup with the stainless trim on the bed. It may be one of the hardest '50s pickups to find. Don't fail to check this out.

Chicago Classic Cars in Gurney, Illinois has a very nice selection of classic Fords this week. Among them is a 1935 Ford Pickup truck which looks excellent in the photos. Being that they come from an exclusive collection this one might be worth you time to check out.

A South Carolina private owner tells us that his 1972 Chevy C-10 Custom Pickup is a No. 1 condition show truck. He calls it a total frame off nut-and-bolt restoration, including painted or powder coated frame and running gear, and chopped 3", with 4-link suspension.
1969 Chevy C-10 4X4, Coyote Classics, IA, 502 bbc, 400 Turbo, 35" tires, $13,900
1972 Chevy C-10 Stepside, P.J.'s Auto World, FL, Candy Winefire paint, 383 stroker
1971 Chevy 1/2-Ton Pickup, Rocky Mountain Classics, CO, restored body off 4X4
See many more listed by year in the Pickup Truck Section online, or or watch daily for the newest ads as they come in on the New Listings page.
CONVERTIBLES ...

One of the rarest convertibles ever made is the 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible. That's because they only made the convertible version of the Grand Prix for that one year. This one from Greensvoro, North Carolina is one of 2,015 produced.

A private seller from Chicago, Illinois says his 1960 Buick LeSabrre Convertible has been nicely done with a frame-on restoration. The pro quality Arctic white paint is base/clear. Not just for show, the seller says you can drive it on long trips.

Although not all original, the red soft top really looks good on this 1962 Chevrolet Impala Convertible from McBee, South Carolina. The seller says it has a 327 engine with a TH350 transmission. Options include: power steering, power soft top, original AM radio, front disc brakes.
1966 Mustang Convertible, Southern Motors, MI, Candy red, see video

1969 Chevelle Convertible, Vanguard Auto Sales, MI, 406 sbc, TCI stall, 12-bolt
You'll find more listed in the Convertibles Section.
CLASSIC VAN ...

If you were a working man back in the day chances are you spent some time in one of these. It's a 1963 Ford Econoline Van which has recently been used as a daily driver in Peoria, Illinois. The seller says it has about 51k miles on it at this point. He says the floors and undercarriage are perfect. You'll see a few more like this in the Van Section online.
PRO BUILT REPLICAS ...

You might turn a few heads in this exotic looking 1966 Superperformance GT-40 replicar. This is no kit car, it was built by Superperformance and is said to have a 418 stroker 4-barrel motor with a McCloud clutch and ZF 5-speed. Fastlane Classic Cars tells us this replica has only 1,200 miles.

These Shay replicas are so popular. A company named Shay built 1929 Model A Roadster replicas to be sold at Ford dealerships in 1979-81. These factory built reproductions are so popular because they used late 70's technology and drive trains. They are fairly dependable for everyday driving. Hurry, these sell fast!
1967 Cobra, P.J.'s Auto World, FL, built by Classic Roadsters, removable hardtop
1967 Everett Morrison Cobra, Fastlane Classic Cars, MO, 509 ci, 4-barrel, 5-spd

MUSCLE CAR CLONES

1970 Superbird Tribute
440 6 Pack

1968 Mustang Eleanor
Side exhaust, 4-spd

1969 Yenko Camaro
427/500 hp, 4-spd

Way back in the '70s a dealer decided to build a winged Superbird from a base Road Runner. The result is the 1970 Plymouth Superbird tribute (shown above left) from Wickenburg, Arizona. The degree of difficulty in building such a car has kept restorers from doing it. Since the build the car has been restored. The seller says it has a 440 6 Pack and is built the way "Chrysler should have built them." A yellow 1968 Mustang Eleanor (see it above center) super car has been listed by Cool Cars in Pompano Beach, Florida. The pictures look pretty good on this one and it looks like it has some quality equipment. They are only asking $39,995. You'll thrill to the sound of this 1969 Yenko Camaro (above right) recreation offered for sale by Valenti Classics in Wisconsin. They say the Hugger orange Yenko clone is powered by a 427 producing 500 horsepower. According to the ad this clone was built with great detail to make it authentic to the heavy duty equipment needed for these high performance machines.

Don't miss other muscle car recreations for sale today in the New Listings:
1970 Pontiac GTO Convt Judge clone Rapid City, SD
1967 Chevy El Camino SS 427, nut & bolt restoration Glendale, AZ

DEAL OF THE DAY
Newsletter readers know that we feature the best bargains on our website right here in the DEAL of the DAY preview. In this DEAL of the DAY section of our newsletter we give readers first chance at the bargain priced quality cars on our website. Then during the coming week you'll see these cars on our home page in the DEAL of the DAY graphic that looks like a "rear view mirror."

We often comment on how hard it is to find a classic Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible. Newsletter readers are familiar with the line, "rare as frog hairs" because we always say that about Chevelle Convertibles. Yet, we have to admit that Olds Cutlass Convertibles might just be more rare even than their bowtie cousins. That's why we made this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible our lead DEAL of the DAY this week. He says the car was restored 10 years ago and has a list of upgrades he has done since. He says the top, boot cover, upholstery, carpet and door panels are new. He says the brakes are rebuilt and the suspension is tight. The ad makes this one sound interesting. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with an asking price under $20k.

This is a real good issue for checking out classic pickup trucks. We've got an excellent selection this week. It is fitting that we show you one of the best bargains right here. Check out this 1955 Ford F100 just listed from Demotte, Indiana. They say it was the shop truck for a restoration shop there. Notice the shaved handles, bumpers shaved, '59 Caddy tail lights, Mexican blanket interior, 350/350 engine trans combo, Edelbrock manifold with Holley carb and finned valve covers. The seller says it has a new gas tank, newer tires and brakes. Although it currently has a stock suspension, the seller says he has reversed eye springs for front and a disc brake kit if you are interested. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Sunday with an asking price of only $10,000 even.

Although it is probably no more than a driver quality car, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe has been listed from Lake Villa, Illinois at a very affordable price. The seller makes a point of stressing the originality. He says it has a 283 V8 with automatic Powerglide transmission, wheel covers, radio, engine that are all original. He says even the air blows cold. It has had at least one repaint and the current paintwork is not perfect. He says that even though it is probably no more than a No. 3 car it does run great. He also indicates that he has the protect-o-plate and original owners manual and warranty book. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week if it lasts that long. He has it for sale for $8,000.

Don't forget! Have these cars inspected before you buy. One man's great opportunity is another man's nightmare. You have to know if the car is right for you.

A collector from Macon, Georgia says he doesn't have to time to enjoy this 1966 Chrysler 300 Hardtop anymore. Sadly he says he wants to sell it. He says it still rides and drives as if it were new, and he said the car has run the quarter mile in the mid-14's. According to the ad copy, it has a factory 440 high performance engine which he says was rebuilt with hardened valves, Edelbrock 4-bbl aluminum intake, new Edelbrock 750 cc carb, factory performance exhaust manifolds, new dual exhaust-including cut outs-for fun, 323 gears in rear, all new brakes, new Michelin tires, 727 Torque-flite trans, built to heavy duty specs. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week with an asking price of $14,950.

Saleen Mustangs have always been on the cutting edge of racing technology. Steve Saleen builds race cars and decided to put some of his knowledge to work on the street. Now we are seeing a few of his creations getting old enough to become collectible. Here is a
1987 Saleen Mustang Convertible that is for sale out of El Paso, Texas. The seller says it is #145 of the Saleen cars produced that year. Only 33 convertibles were made in '87, making this one very desirable. He says it has the HO 302 engine and 5-speed transmission, Mo Mo Lea wheel and basket weave rims all in original condition. What's more, he says it was a California car. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week. The price is $14,500.

I think you'll agree that this is an awful lotta' truck for the price. A 1948 Chevrolet 5-Window 3100 Pickup from Wheatfield, Indiana has been offered for sale. The seller says it has had a frame off restoration about 6 years ago. It has also been in storage almost ever since. He describes it as being very clean and straight. He says it has a new seat, radio, Coker white wall tires, exhaust and the motor has been rebuilt. He states that the motor is orginal and numbers matching. This is a super nice truck so we will make it our DEAL of the DAY. The seller says it is priced right at $15,500. The word "hurry" would be appropriate to add here.

A sweet looking 1971 Chevrolet El Camino has been offered for sale from Zenda, Wisconsin. This is not an original car. It has many updates such as B&M shift kit. The seller does not indicate that the 350 ci engine is original so assume that it isn't. He says it has 40k on the rebuild. The ad copy indicates that the car comes with air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. It has a 12-bolt posi with highway type gears. It looks pretty nice in the photos so we will make it our DEAL of the DAY. The asking price is $9,500.

Often there are more cars than we can feature on our front page every week. Here is a list of cars that just missed the cut for the DEAL of the DAY feature. Remember, you saw them here first:
