OTC offers a tech dream too good to be true ...
Wireless diagnostics with Pegisys

Auto scan tools usually have an interface cable that keeps the tech in the office, or you have to fish the cable through the door or window to reach the engine compartment ... or it may even take two men to operate.

Now OTC has come out with the Pegisys™ Vehicle Communications Interface (VCI) which links wirelessly to the host device (computer), allowing the technician to check the vehicle's hard-to-reach computer-controlled components without being tethered to a conventional scan tool cable.

Pegisys AirBridge™ Wireless Technology features high speed WiFi Digital Input / Output (SDIO) 802.11b/g mini cards to wirelessly communicate with the vehicle as well as access the internet right from the tool. AirBridge™ wireless connectivity means you can field update to the latest and fastest wireless communications!

Pegisys has a touch screen. The Pegisys user can make a choice right on the touch screen while he's standing by the engine. In addition to the use of the navigation key to view images, he can use the scan tool to change right there at the vehicle. Everyone knows that men are "visual" creatures. So, what could be more intuitive for a automotive tech than to find an image on a touch screen? The screen itself is also a navigation method. The touch screen and the unique graphic user interface allow you to use your finger, or the included stylus, to navigate through menus and other diagnostic functions. It’s that simple.

If you are a "visual" creature you might want to watch this video to see how the Pegisys works. Click this link to view a preview of Pegisys by OTC using Airbridge Technology.

You get your updates over the internet. Pegisys comes with a one-year subscription to updates from OTC, which begins when the tool is registered for a warranty on the Pegisys website. It comes with U.S. domestic and Asian software and even has OBD and OBD II cable included. Optional software allows you to use Pegisys on European vehicles and heavy trucks.

Auto Dealers OTC also produces specific diagnostic tools such as the Scan-Tech 2 Scan Tool for Chevrolet. But the Tech 2's programming flash capacity is limited for GM vehciles. The great thing about using the Pegisys scan tool is that it has the capacity to use many different brands and access many different systems.
