1967 Plymouth Hemi GTX

Plymouth Hemi GTX. Maybe the finest example of a '67 Hemi GTX on the planet. KNGKONG -- that's how the plates read -- just like the Plymouth ads from the day. I have owned this car for 10 years (it came from Pro Stock driver/owner Tim Wilkerson's private collection) and restored what was a tired original 6 years ago. Listed in Galen's Registry as #29 of 57 in sequence of 408 1967 Hemi GTX's built with a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission and 3:23 Suregrip. It has 65,000 original miles and there's no reason to believe these are not the original components as they are date code correct and looked to be the originals. I have a photocopy of the broadcast sheet (from Galen and no one knows where the original went) and I had Galen obtain a copy of the IBM card from Chrysler of which I have a copy. I have many of pictures to document the restoration. The engine and transmission were overhauled by Lofgren Auto Specialties in Cedar, MN to original specifications and I have all the documentation - $14,500 spent on the engine and $1900 on the transmission. The engine dyno'd at 523 hp and 498 ft lbs of torque. Yes, I have those docs too. Jay's in Sioux Falls, SD did the exemplary body and paint work ($9300) and there are none nicer than this car. It was MM1 Turbine Bronze Metallic with a black vinyl roof. That's probably why this car is so nice as it was apparently ordered by someone with conservative taste and again, I have pictures of its former self. It is now PP1 red and wears road wheels. The interior looks to be original and is in excellent condition with one small exception where the stitching has come loose in a small area of the passenger seat back but this is easily fixed. I have a set of correct red line 7:75 x 14's Firestone's mounted on the correct hemi rims and a set of deluxe full wheel covers that are included. Black interior, buckets, console, factory tach, AM/FM and everything works. It starts, runs and drives like a brand new car except no power steering and terrible fuel economy! It went from a car no one would give a second glance at to one that everybody loves including me. You may have seen this car in MSD Ignition magazine ads over the years. Time to go -- a second home in AZ is calling our name.
