Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II. Dan Gurney edition
Shows 21,000 miles, 351w, FM x Auto, PS
Every nut and bolt has been taken apart, engine, trains brakes suspension, interior, exterior has been replaced, rebuilt or polished. This is a special car.
To improve performance on the NASCAR tracks, Mercury developed their own aerodynamic package, borrowing heavily from the Ford Talladega, although virtually no parts were interchangeable between the two except for the bumper and the grille. The Cyclone II received extended fenders, special braces and supports and a header panel between the hood line and the Torino Cobra grille. A wing was mounted on the rear deck lid. The rockers were re-rolled to allow race teams to drop the bodies one inch. The only engine offered was a 351cubic inch V-8. Inside, the Cyclone II interior was sparse, with bench seat and auto on the column. Two exterior signature packages were offered, a blue and white Dan Gurney Special and the red and white Cale Yarborough Special. Between the two their were 519 made, with about 50 in the national registry.
This car runs and drives better than new.
